We'll be honest…With over a hundred different artists lined up for this year's Coachella Music Festival, the Latino talent is few and far between. But that's not to say they're nonexistent and the rockeros that the three-day event have lined up are definitely worth putting on your radar. Here's who we'd recommend catching at Coachella 2012.
At The Drive-In – Obviously the biggest Latino attraction of the event, At The Drive-In are one of the top headliners of Sunday night. Their participation in Coachella 2012 is important for a lot of reasons. For one thing, it's their first big reunion since breaking up twelve years ago. But beyond that, it's a fantastic opportunity to see some great live music. Though mastermind Omar Rodriguez-Lopez went on to bigger and better things with The Mars Volta, many fans believe Drive-In represented his musical apex (especially when you consider his amazing collaborations with Cedric Bixler-Zavara).
Neon Indian – A Friday night highlight, Neon Indian's proven to be one Texas' most innovative new bands. Their debut record, Psychic Chasms, earned them big respect from Rolling Stone and their energetic live performances have gotten them booked at SXSW and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Mexican-born vocalist Alan Palomo never fails to deliver and we’re hopeful that Coachella will expose his talents to a whole new audience.
Le Butcherettes – If you want a little theatrical entertainment mixed into your Coachella experience, you won't want to miss Le Butcherettes on Sunday night. This all-girl group from Guadalajara has been known to throw eggs, raw meat, and fake blood into the audience! But they also deliver some great hard rocking sounds, reminiscent of the garage punk bands of old. Bandleader Teri Gender Bender (aka Teresa Suarez) is a musical powerhouse and surely won't disappoint!
Ximena Sariñana – Spanish TV fans will probably recognize Ximena Sariñana not just from her lively jams, but from her many appearances on South American novelas. Interestingly, she even made an appearance on the Tr3s fave Niñas Mal. But now, she's all about the music and recorded a very well received debut album. Ximena’s pop-infused sounds got her on the international soundtrack for Twilight: New Moon and gave her the chance to perform at Lollapalooza. Let's hope she knocks it out of the park Sunday night at Coachella.
You can find out info on all of the artists scheduled to perform by visiting the festival's official website.

The BMI Awards were held at Las Vegas' Bellagio hotel last night where Colombian Rocker Juanes was the recipient of the 2010 President's Award.
The always humble humanitarian took stage with 5 members of his band, and delivered this very modest speech:
"Like all my colleagues here, I've been writing ever since I can remember. It's a pleasure to share this moment with all of you. "
He continued:
"I remember the first meeting I had with BMI, some 12 years ago, when I knew nothing of the music industry, and they walked me through all this."
The rocker also performed acoustic renditions of his hits, and invited Mexican singer Ximena Sarinana to share in the duet "Fotografia" and friend Juan Luis Guerra to sing "Odio por Amor."
The black-tie, invitation-only gala recognizes the songwriters and publishers of the past year’s top BMI Latin songs played on American radio and television. [Billboard]

You may have thought that la revolución de reggaeton was only big in the U.S. and P.R., pero think again! Dynamic duo Wisin y Yandel have captured the attention of fans below the border también. The duo may take home as many as seis lenguas if they win every award they've been nominated for at this year's Los Premios MTV, from the MTV Latin America awards for Artista del Año y Mejor Artista Urbano to our award for Best MTV Tr3s Artist. Other heavy contenders on October 15th will be Paulina Rubio, who has five nominations and Lady Gaga who has four.

Granted, Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat's collaboration for the hit single "Lucky" is romantically irresistible...

Pero wait until you hear the bilingual version "Lucky (Suerte)" featuring Ximena Sariñana! The Latin Grammy-winner may have tucked away her "Vidas Paralelas" winter gear, but her mellow voz will still transport you straight to paradise. Adding an even smoother touch to Ximena's love confession is Jason's ode to the female spirit. Prepare to get lifted into a heavenly collaboration worth setting on repeat.
Watch the new video premiere off of Jason's third album "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things" right below and let us know what you think!

Abre la cortina and you will find a kind sorpresa from the "La Tina" singer...

Ximena Sariñana will continue to floss her ironically titled "Mediocre" hit album during her first-ever U.S. tour launching this Saturday, April 18th in Miami, Florida. Our MTV Tr3s Descubre and Download featured artist has stemmed outside of the mainstream comparisons to Norah Jones and Fiona Apple and gardened her own fruitful seeds in the música scene. Besides her recent Grammy nomination, the Mexican cantante is also up for the Latin Billboard Music Award for “Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album of the Year.”
All we have to say is that el mundo esta mejor with Ximena as our soulful goddess. Check out the first wave of confirmed Ximena Sariñana U.S. tour dates right below the jump!

2008 may have been her first year in the mainstream spotlight, but Ximena Sariñana rocked the mic better than most old school rock stars. From flexing her old age soul as our "Descubre and Download" newbie, to earning top Latin Grammy noms and snatching the "Artist Revelación" tongue award during Los Premios. MTV News recently caught-up with Ximena to chat about her breakout year and whats in store for 2009. Check it right below!

Remember peeps, looks are deceiving. Ximena Sariñana may have a niña buena rep, but the Grammy nominee also knows how to lace her lyrical playfulness for Plastilina Mosh's latest "Pervert Pop Song." The funky foursome are responsible for the latest alternative roquero craze that includes a cross between a tacky late night telenovela and a catchy disco ball fiesta. MTV News recently caught up with the Monterrey band to find out which one of the chicos are the real die hard pervs. Catch the sinful scoop ahora!

Forget about the pre-packaged news and peel open our uncensored coverage into the Zune Latin Grammy Pre-Party on Tuesday night.

The event honored Latin Grammy-nominees, poetically sound Ximena Sariñana, the "No Todo Lo Que Es Pop Es Bueno" renegades Circo, and pop roqueros Kudai. The "Best New Artist" hopeful, Ximena captured todo el mundo with her mature “Mediocre” vocals and melancholic lyrics, but that didn't stop her fans from swaying back and forth in the crowd.
Check out the "Error" singer getting it right during this mic check...

Latin Grammy performers' Kudai also got the audience hyped...

And of course we can't forget Circo's chévere set!

The Latin Grammy Awards are going down LIVE tonight in Houston, TX! Be sure to keep it locked for more post-party chisme right here!
