Forget using Twitter to announce a pregnancy, now celebrities are using it straight from the delivery room! Miguel Ignacio "Nacho" Mendoza from the reggaeton duo Chino y Nacho thrilled his 54,000 followers this week with twitpix of his newborn son, Miguel Alejandro.

Sporting a nice crop of black hair and eyes that definitely resemble a bit of daddy, Miguel arrived without any complications. That’s something Nacho’s followers know for a fact, since he literally tweeted through every step of the birth.

“Dentro del quirófano!!”

“Los doctores concentrados sacando al principito!”

“Faltando poco!”

“Con la gracia divina y el favor de Dios, llegó a este mundo Miguel Alejandro!”

And there were plenty of posts. After reading them all, it was clear that Nacho, 27, is a very proud papa and his partner Inga Devera is doing just fine.

Interestingly there were no updates on whether or not Uncle Chino was in the waiting room, but we imagine he’ll be more than ready to do a few lullaby duets once baby Miguel is brought home.

Nacho has another son from a previous relationship.

These days, Twitter seems like the go-to destination for romance announcements. Kim Kardashian dropped hints about her “future husband” over the weekend, and now Shakira has used it to officially announce her relationship with Gerard Piqué.

“Les presento a mi sol... Shak

A statement like that pretty much says it all, especially when there’s a twitpic to go along with it. With Shaki and the Barcelona fútbol star happily posing by a tropical beach, “sunshine” does seem like the perfect word to describe the moment.

Announced earlier this morning, gossip blogs are abuzz about whether or not it’s too soon for Shaki to get serious with a new boyfriend. After all, she just ended an 11-year relationship with Antonio de la Rua in late January. But pictures don’t lie, and if you ask this writer, they really do make a gorgeous couple.

Do you think it’s too soon for Shaki to declare her love for Gerard? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.

Tweets have a tendency to be ambiguous. With just 140 characters to work with, it’s often difficult to convey a clear message. So when Kim Kardashian tweeted that boyfriend Kris Humphries is now her ‘future husband,’ did that mean the two got engaged?

“I am so happy my future husband just surprised me!”

Those were the words Kim tweeted Saturday evening. Perhaps the New Jersey Nets star dropped by with flowers and chocolate. Or maybe 26-year-old Kris gave Kim a blinged out diamond ring. Or perhaps the whole thing was a joke.

Kim quickly posted a followup tweet to her 6.9 million followers squashing the entire “future husband” statement.

Hump was playing on my phone. I will get him back!”

Of course adding an NBA star to the Kardashian family is not that far-fetched of an idea. Kim’s little sister Khloe is currently married to Lakers forward Lamar Odom and she seemed to welcome Kris into the clan.

"Hopefully we'll all get to go on fun trips and hang out," Khloe told People. “That's something that we all look forward to. Kris was out here [for] All-Star weekend, and we hung out. Lamar got to know him and we had fun."

She may not have power of Charlie Sheen, but Christina Aguilera has racked up an impressive number of followers since joining Twitter this week. With 150,000 followers and growing, the pop star has already posted twitpix, shout outs and a few funny “Xtina-isms.”

“Thanks for the welcome to Twitter. I’m getting the hang of this. Never thought I’d say the word “hashtag.” Pandora's box has been opened.”

Truth be told, business matters may have driven her to the twitterverse. Aguilera will be a judge on the new NBC reality music competition The Voice, and we imagine she’ll tweet about it plenty.

But for now, Aguilera’s averaging about two to three posts a day. Tweeters on her follow list include Jennifer Hudson, Carson Daly and (no big shocker here) The Voice. But she's also showing love for all the fans that continue to offer support, even tweeting a pic of an interesting Russian creation made just for her.

George Lopez may have crossed the line with his Kirstie Alley jokes this week. The late-night comedian dropped some controversial remarks about the actress' weight and her latest performance on the reality show Dancing with the Stars during a recent Lopez Tonight monologue.

"She did a nice job, her little hooves tapping away," Lopez joked. "Before the show she went to the market, then she had roast beef, and this is her going all the way home."

He then cut to a video of a squealing pig. Claiming that Kirstie, who has long battled weight problems, has "hooves" and implying, even jokingly, that she's a character in the Little Piggy Go to Market nursery rhyme is downright cruel.

But Alley responded with some hard-hitting tweets of her own.

“Don't worry about George's comments ... just remember what happens to the big bad, drunk woolf ... falls in a boiling pot of vodka. Piggy laughs”

So far, several tweeters have pledged their support for Alley.

@WestCoastGal88 told Kirstie, "If you read my stream -- I just called George Lopez a PIG :)"

Perhaps big bad wolf is more like it.

Elizabeth Taylor posted her final Tweets on February 9 of this year, sending a digital shout-out to Kim Kardashian about their interview in Bazaar Magazine. But it is a Tweet that she posted a few months earlier will forever be in the hearts of her more than 312,000 followers:

"Every breath you take today should be with someone else in mind. I love you."

Looking back at Liz’s fabulous life, love might be the key word. Famously married eight times to seven lucky loves (twice to Richard Burton, often called the love of her life), she was known the world over for her grace, beauty, eccentricity, generosity, activism and talent.  This morning, the world woke to the news that the grand Dame of Hollywood had passed away in the night of congestive heart failure.

Her son, Michael Wilding made the following statement to the media:

"My Mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love. Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world. Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman, and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS, all make us all incredibly proud of what she accomplished. We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for Mom having lived in it. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts."

Soon after, iconic celebs and regular fans began to post their own elegies to the star, often in 140 characters or less. They tell a lot about how the Hollywood legend affected both her peers and her fans:

Magic Johnson:

"Elizabeth, thank you for all your help in the battle for HIV and AIDS. You will be missed by the world."

Joan Rivers:

"Sad to hear of Elizabeth Taylor’s death. She was the 1st major celebrity to join me in the fight against AIDS when it wasn't a popular cause."

Larry King:

"Elizabeth Taylor was a great friend, a great star and one gutsy woman. She was so special. You won’t see the likes of her again."

Michael Caine:

"So sad to hear about my beautiful friend Elizabeth Taylor. She was a great human being."

Steve Martin:

"I met Elizabeth Taylor several times. She was witty and self-deprecating, which I found surprising and delightful. She loved to laugh."

Marlee Matlin:

"So VERY shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Dame Elizabeth Taylor. A true Hollywood legend and humanitarian and friend. RIP"

Piers Morgan:

"Advice we should all follow: 'I’ve always admitted that I’m ruled by my passions.' Elizabeth Taylor"

Fans around the world have been sending tribute messages of their own into the virtual ether, often referring to another much-beloved and recently-deceased star, Michael Jackson, Taylor’s close friend in the later years of both their lives.

Kim:

"Give MJ a very big hug from all of us! Finally reunited for ever! RIP Elisabeth"

Carol:

"MICHEAL WILL BE WAITING AT THE GATE FOR YOU LIZ..... R. I. P. YOUR ARE A BEAUTIFUL LADY IN EVERY WAY I LOVED TO SEE YOU ON TMZ OR ANY OTHER ENTERTAINING NEWS LOVE YOU ALWAYS ............ YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!"

Elizabeth:

"you will be missed but now you're free. Rest in Peace Elizabeth. ♥ Found Michael ♥
Louise: R.I.P,Elizabeth.. Michael couldnt be without you.. so he had to take you.. Into his Angel wings to keep you safe, A True Friendship - Together Again - never to end ♥ Michael Jackson & Elizabeth Taylor ♥"

If you want to check them out, head to Twitter http://search.twitter.com/search?q=RIP+Elizabeth+Taylor
or check out her Elizabeth Arden Family Facebook Tribute Page.
As for me, I had this to say to Liz:

"Shine on, perfect diamond. We all loved you."

Juanes had better watch his back. Reggaeton stars Jowell y Randy are gunning for his Facebook fans. Now claiming more than 2.2 million “likes,” J y R are rising stars in the social media game.

“Facebook es súper fuerte y tener dos millones en esa red es incredible,” Jowell recently said.

And he does have a point. Not many Latin artists can claim that many fans on The Social Network. Paulina Rubio’s fan page is only at 225,000 and Anahi’s holding at 581,000. So what’s J y R’s strategy? According to Jowell, they don’t have one.

"Es algo que nos tomó por sorpresa, nosotros casi nunca estamos pendientes al Facebook, nos pasamos más en Twitter.”

In the Twitterverse, rather than sharing one group page, J y Y each have their own separate accounts and are in a heated competition for the most followers. Right now, Randy has the edge with 152,000 to Jowell’s 123,000.

Now the guys are hitting the road to make sure their two millions devotees get to see them in person. Currently touring in Colombia and the Dominican Republic, J y R are scheduled to go as far as Europe in early May. Randy thanked all of their fans for their ongoing support.

"¡Gracias a todos a ustedes, nuestros queridos fanáticos! ¡Sin ustedes nada de esto hubiera sido posible!"

Believe it or not, many world leaders tweet (or, more accurately, their staff members do it for them). Barack Obama is one of the most popular with nearly 7 million followers, the posts of Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez are read by 1.3 million, and now former Cuban president Fidel Castro has more than 100,000 people subscribing to his tweets.

Though the Cuban government has acknowledged that Castro doesn’t actually type the posts himself, they are all taken from his writings. Tweeted mostly in Spanish, Fidel’s ramblings are almost always political, ranging from such topics as Libya, to NATO, and beyond.

Since stepping down as Cuba’s leader in 2006, the 84-year-old has reportedly had plenty of time on his hands. According to CBS News, Castro spends hours surfing Internet news sites and is writing memoir books about his years in power.

So, are the 100,000 followers loyal Cuban citizens clinging to his every word? Not so much. As of right now, less than 2 percent of the island’s residents have access to the Internet. And even if they all did, Castro would need at least 8 million social media hounds to catch up to tweet hall of famers Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell which celebrity tweets to take seriously. While some, such as Eva Longoria, often tweets to raise money for charity, others, like Charlie Sheen, post incoherent ramblings. So, with that in mind, was Oscar de la Hoya serious when tweeted a $1 million reward for his missing wallet?

“1000000 dollar reward to the person who has my wallet from last night”

If it is true, that’s a hefty offer for a leather billfold. It kind of makes you wonder what the boxing great may have had stuffed inside. Perhaps some scandalous pictures like the “questionable” shots that hit the web a while back? Maybe some insider info from Golden Boy Promotions? Whatever the reason, Oscar seemed pretty desperate to get the wallet and its contents back.

Of course, many are looking at the offer from an entirely different perspective. Particularly when you examine the context of the tweet that came three minutes before it.

“Last night I had a driver, so I was able to enjoy a few tres generations tequila mmmmm”

Knowing he had a few shots of tequila in his belly, perhaps the entire “missing wallet” fiasco may just be a drunken ruse. But on the slight chance that the $1 million offer is legit, we recommend keeping your eyes peeled for any billfold with the initials ODLH on it.

Charlie Sheen's been making the interview rounds this week, delivering a comical collection of quotables on CNN, NBC and ABC as his battle with CBS looms over the temporary cancellation of his hit show Two and a Half Men.

While sites like livethesheendream.com have rushed to capture Sheen's invaluable one-liners before the end of his media rounds, Charlie did fans one better when he joined Twitter on Tuesday.  @CharlieSheen gained a million followers in just 25 hours, setting a new Guinness World Record for the "fastest time to reach one million followers."

The CBS star's first tweet included a twitpic with one of his goddesses, and read,

"Winning..! Choose your Vice... #winning #chooseyourvice."

Charlie soon added a dig at executive producer/co-creator of Two and a Half Men Chuck Lorre, as well as CNN host Nancy Grace:

"Just got invited to do the Nancy Grace show... I'd rather go on a long road trip with Chuck Lorre in a '75 Pacer...."

And he continued with more musings, including a few tweets and retweets to celeb friends:

"Questions..? I'm here for my people..! Bring it!! #Tigerblood"

"@iamdiddy Get dressed my man... sending the driver..!"

"My man! RT @FloydMayweather Everyone needs to follow @charliesheen right now. #tigerblood"

While Charlie's rants have entertained audiences everywhere, the carefree actor has gotten himself into even more trouble as of late. Sheen's twin boys were taken from his home Tuesday night after estranged wife Brooke Mueller filed a restraining order against him stating that Sheen threatened her life. The soon-to-be exes are scheduled to appear in court later this week.
