C’mon ladies, you know you are going to have a pretty tough time convincing your boyfriends to come along with you to see "Eat Pray Love." There are no explosions, no car crashes, and it’s starring chick flick queen Julia Roberts.

But, it’s important to keep in mind that heavy duty tough-guy Javier Bardem has a major part in this movie too. We last saw him in his Academy-Award winning role as a psychopathic hitman in "No Country For Old Men," so we know he’s not your typical wimpy leading man type (are you listening Hugh Grant?).

And Javier’s quick to defend "Eat Pray Love” as a story that can be appreciated by all genders. He told Buzzsugar.com, “I thought it was a very good book with good points in it. I didn't see the point of it being a woman's book at all. I think anyone who has doubts and fears will understand the love in it.”

An interesting point. Yes, guys are capable of understanding love too. And seeing Julia journey through exotic locales like Bali, Italy, and India does seem to have more potential than a cheesy big city romantic comedy.

Plus it’s produced by machismo movie star Brad Pitt! Maybe we will go to the theatres and give this movie a shot. Just under heavy disguise so our friends watching "The Expendables" next door don’t come over and tease us!

For the folks who are having trouble with Julia cultural sampling, Videogum makes a good point:
"Maybe the film’s feminist mission is to show that women can be selfish, self-absorbed a$$holes in the throes of a petulant midlife crisis just as obnoxiously as any MAN.”

"Eat Pray Love" hits theaters on August 13, 2010.

You’ve seen the premiere photos, flipped through all those commercials and viral videos, and gotten tons of tidbits from Comic-Con, but the real question remains: Is "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" worth all the hype?

The answer… wait for it… is a resounding YES! Not only is this film groundbreaking visually and thematically, it’s also just plain fun. “Scott Pilgrim” represents moviemaking for the next generation of fans - the ones (like us) who love comics, videogames, fast-paced action, and heroes unlike the "Expendables."

Scott Pilgrim

Think about it. Could you ever in a million years imagine “Superbad”'s Michael Cera as an action star? Trust us, he totally pulls it off! And besides the kicks and punches, Cera delivers great comedic timing, hilarious expressions, and a level of just-plain awesomeness that’ll make you an instant fan.

So what’s “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World'” all about? Based on the hit graphic novels of Bryan Lee O’Malley, it follows the life of a bass-playing underdog and his quest for the heart of purple-haired beauty Ramona Flowers (played by a perfectly subdued Mary Elizabeth Winstead).

Check out this new gamer inspired trailer, then play it!

Will it be easy? Of course not. He’s got 7 evil exes to contend with, each completely individual and loads of fun to watch on the big screen. Honestly the less we reveal about each guy’s “special power” the better, because part of the fun of this roller coaster ride is its element of surprise.

Just take our word for it and go see “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” ASAP! It’s funny, it’s original, and it’s even got the old school Legend of Zelda theme playing through it!

"Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" hits theaters August 13. And for all you gamers out there: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game releases on August 10, but you can pre-order the game now!

Who hasn’t at one time or another been hooked on MTV's reality show "MADE"? You know in the past eight years there’s been at least one issue we could all identify with. Whether it’s the guy who wants to be a football stud or the sweet girl turned punk rocker, it’s always compelling to see dreams come true.

And MTV viewers can’t seem to get enough. Can you believe there have actually been 250 episodes made for “MADE”? Wait…did we just repeat ourselves? Anyway, now they’ve found a new way to tap into the franchise, with a brand-new original movie!

Nope, this time it won’t be real high school kids and coaches, but rather hot young actors in a scripted setting based on an original “MADE” premise. Up-and-coming actress Cyrina Fiallo has been cast as Tuba, the band girl looking to up her status and become a star cheerleader.

That’s where her big brother comes in. As a hot basketball jock, he has the power to boost Tuba’s popularity…with a little help from his girlfriend Andi (a master of all things pom pom). What starts out as an awkward chic/geek compromise soon turns into a high school story with a lot of heart.

“MADE” The Movie premieres August 24 at 10pm E/P on MTV! Now when will we be getting that big budget adaptation of "The Real World"?

Nice! A new trailer for Robert Rodriguez's "Grindhouse" style film "Machete" recently premiered online.

This latest sneak peek promises tons of violence, sex, and mayhem! Robert De NiroMichelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba all make cameos in the two minute teaser...noticeably absent however is Lindsay Lohan.

The troubled starlet is nowhere to be seen in 20th Century Fox's latest cut of the trailer, which is odd considering Rodriguez's recent praise of La Lohan, who was recently sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating of her probation.

Looks like the studio isn't as fond of La Lohan! Ouch!

Not to be outdone by the 'Twilight' franchise, "Harry Potter" fans received a special surprise when the trailer for the final film in the seven book series premiered online earlier this week.

The two and a half minute "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" trailer gives an in-depth look at the two part finale, where Harry faces his final battle with Voldemort and all of his Horcruxes.

The first part of "Deathly Hallows" arrives in theaters this November, with the final installment in the "Harry Potter" series unfolding in July 2011.

Team Blogamole has been excitedly following the "The Smurfs" shoot in NYC. A live action flick based on our classic Saturday morning memories made us excited, curious, and a little nervous for Hollywood not to screw it up. (Anyone remember the fail whale "Scooby Doo" movie?)

Now it’s time to take a sneak peek at what the new "Smurfs" is shaping up to be! Get your first look at Papa, Grouchy, and Clumsy Smurf (what — no Brainy or Smurfette?):

There’s really not a lot of insight into the plot, characters, or time line — but the CGI does look pretty good! We can't wait to see Sofia Vergara do her thing!

This little taste of what's to come is enough to get Team Blogamole very excited about next summer's release. "The Smurfs" may very well turn out to be the undercover blockbuster of 2011. We can't wait to get Smurf'd in 3D!!

“We didn’t cross the border, the border crossed us,” Jessica Alba declares in Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming film, "Machete." On Cinco De Mayo, and in the midst of SB 1070 protests, a new trailer for "Machete" was released — throwing a clear shot at Arizona.

(The trailer was pulled from YouTube, but you can still watch it at aintitcool.com!)

Perfect timing, don't you think? According to Harry Knowles of aintitcool.com, who premiered the hot clip, Rodriguez is calling this his "illegal" trailer. Knowles explained how the re-edited version of the director’s original featured in "Grindhouse" (2007) came to be:

“Robert talked Fox into letting him [Rodriguez] put together a Cinco de Mayo message for Arizona.”

In the film, Danny Trejo stars as Machete, a Mexican ex-federal who hunts corrupted politicians who have betrayed him. Two weeks ago, Trejo sat down with IGN movies to speak about the film:

"It is going to be awesome. We duplicate scenes from the trailer in the movie. What that movie has is the three B's, what I like to call the three B's. And what that is babes, bullets and blood. And then it's got machetes, too. The film takes off from the trailer and then it just gets so over the top. I think the movie really lives up to the trailer. I'm really, really proud of it."

Written and co-directed by Rodriguez, "Machete" features Latino favorites such as Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Cheech Marin and other Hollywood stars such as Robert De Niro, Steven Seagal and Lindsay Lohan.

"Machete" is scheduled to open on Labor Day weekend. We can't wait!

No secret — Team Blogamole loves MTV Movies! Our colleagues Brian Jacks and Matt Harper recently completed a most geektastic achievement: re-creating the "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" movie trailer using nothing but Legos.

We want to play with toys all day too (hello, Silly Bands!), but we're not hatin'. Here are two minutes of stop-motion goodness:

Aren't the pint-sized versions of Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Gemma Arterton and Alfred Molina adorable?

Let's compare it to the live-action trailer, after the jump! Read more...

Do we think the upcoming WB película 'Sherlock Holmes,' featuring Robert Downey, Jr. as el gran detective, will be absolutely awesome?  Elemental, mi querido Watson, we sure do!

La película also stars Jude Law as Holmes' loyal assistant Mr. Watson y la bella Rachel McAdams as Holmes' main love interest.  Y claro, you can't have a detective movie without a real mean villain, so this time around Mark Strong plays Lord Blackwood, a Satanic lord hellbent on causing some major mischief.  The movie, que fue dirigida por Guy Ritchie, mixes equal parts humor and action, with some kickass martial arts and fighting scenes.

Watch the exclusive trailer below, and head over to MTV.com's Sherlock Holmes page for more info including photos and scenes from the movie!
