You've got to hand it to Britney Spears, she definitely has respect for her Latino fans. Appearing on YouTube this week, the pop princess offered an español greeting and announced South American dates for her Femme Fatale tour.
"Hola South America," Spears announced in the video. "I know I didn’t have a chance to come see you guys on my Circus tour. So this time I'm making sure that I bring my Femme Fatale down south so I can pay you guys a very special visit."
And though, admittedly, Brit's español abilities aren't top-notch, she did have some linguistic assistance in the clip. Her Latin backup dancers Kat and Marco joined her for the announcement, translating the message for the Spanish audience.
So far, the only confirmed South American dates are November 15 in Rio de Janeiro and November 18 in Sao Paulo. But Spears did promise that Brazil won't be her only stop. Keep checking her website for all of the latest updates!

Since the release of his self-titled debut album in 2010, the Dominican-American singer/songwriter Prince Royce has been blowing up the charts and bringing his brand of R&B and pop-inflected bachata music to a young urban audience in the U.S.
This week, Atlantic Records announced that Prince Royce has signed an exclusive record deal with the label, as part of the new imprint, Top Stop Music, which is a joint venture between Atlantic Records and well-known Latin music producers Sergio George and Gregory Elias.
According to Sergio George,
“Royce is a true phenomenon who has already achieved unprecedented success in the Latin music industry, and Gregory and I are delighted to be joining with Atlantic Records to take his career to the next level. With his extraordinary charisma and talent as a singer, songwriter, and performer, he has taken bachata music to a whole new audience and created a style uniquely his own. Royce is not only inspiring a whole new generation of Hispanic youth, but fans across cultural and social boundaries."
The singer hit the top of the charts last month, becoming the country’s number-one Latin album. With a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tropical Contemporary Album as well as four Latin Billboard Awards for his debut record, he is already enjoying widespread recognition for his music.
Prince Royce has even more to celebrate. In addition to this recording contract, and a highly anticipated follow-up album, Enrique Iglesias has asked him to join his 2011 North America tour as a featured artist together with Pitbull!
Watch out for more news on this, as the tour will be coming to a city near you this fall.

Just hours after Britney Spears announced her upcoming summer tour with Enrique Iglesias on Tuesday's "Good Morning America," the Latino heartthrob backed out of the double-billed performance with the pop princess.
According to Billboard, money may be to blame. Although Iglesias has been a headliner for some time, announcing the tour on the day Brit dropped her latest LP, Femme Fatale, leads many to assume that Ms. Spears is the headliner and Iglesias the opening act. Additionally, Spears was rumored to pull in several times what Iglesias would earn on the "joint" tour.
Iglesias' rep released the following statement confirming the tour's demise:
"Unfortunately, Enrique Iglesias and Britney Spears will not be touring together. Despite initial reports based on formal discussions of the possible run, Enrique will continue on his solo tour in support of his new album 'Euphoria.' Enrique has great respect for Britney and is a longtime fan of her work. He is very sorry for the confusion this might have caused to anyone."
While Brit reworks the line-up of her summer trek, Enrique will continue on his European tour which kicked off earlier this month and wraps up June 11 in Scotland.
Do you think Enrique was right to back out of his tour with Britney? Sound off in the comments, or @MTV3.

En un género mayormente dominado por hombres, there’s one woman making herself noticed, and
not just for the long nails and female curves. For the fifth consecutive week, el disco más reciente de Ivy Queen titulado Drama Queen, continues to top Billboard’s Latin Rhythm chart at the #1 spot.
The album’s success is largely fueled por el primer sencillo del disco, “La Vida Es Asi,” a catchy track that begins with an upbeat urban rhythm and melds into a melodic bachata. La Caballota rhymes and sings a story of betrayal and moving on from a bad relationship, un tema con el cual muchos se pueden relacionar.

Fans are showing support by accessing her "Drama Line" and either leaving messages or
adding names to her blacklist as payback for their ex's infidelity. You can join in the fun by calling (310) 341-4676 or logging onto Ivy Queen’s official website.
La Diva del género urbano will be headlining the 2010 Machete Music Tour throughout the US, starting this October 14 in Miami. Ivy will perform in 15 major cities, incluyendo a Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Houston, y Las Vegas. Other urban Latino acts joining her on tour are Tego Calderon, Cosculluela, Angel y Khriz, Chino y Nacho, Jowell y Randy, y Flex. Que mujeron entre tanto hombres!

Que buena vida la de Demi Lovato! The Texas native, who’s had a nonstop acting and singing career since the age of 7, is now set to go on a national tour with the non-too-harsh-on-the-eyes
Jonas Brothers, plus other “Camp Rock 2” co-stars. Y como se prepara? She shops ‘til she
drops!
During a Chicago press junket on August 5th, Demi dished to MTV News about her favorite
pastime when visiting different cities on tour. "I'm a big shopper," dice ella. "Given the amount of
time that I have, I go to my favorite stores first, but then if I have time and I see a cute boutique
store, I'll go there."
And could there be a rekindled romance on the road? Demi shared a short-lived romance with
Joe Jonas earlier this year, which she admitted to in March, and ended in June. Pero como este par tiene que pasar tanto tiempo trabajando juntos, both on screen and on the road, we feel
there’s a good chance they could end up back together.

Imagine getting cheers and screams from over 40,000 fans in two days! This past weekend, Daddy Yankee literally crossed two coasts for a set of wild performances that El Cangri is a musical force to be reckoned with.
First stop: LA’s huge Staples Center. Not many music artists can fill this venue. If you want to play Staples, you better have a massive following. On Friday (July 23) Daddy Yankee proved his power by maxing out capacity and getting over 20,000 fans roaring for hits like “Gasolina” “Muchocando” and his newest #1, “Descontrol.”

Oh no, Daddy Yankee didn’t stop there. Literally the next day he was back on stage on the other side of the continent for Puerto Rico’s Guaya Guaya Fest. Now if Daddy can get 20,000 LA peeps excited, imagine what he can do on his home turf!
Yup, 24 hours after 20,000 west coast fans screamed his name, 22,000 Puerto Ricans were doing the same thing. And Guaya Guaya attendees got an even better treat. A surprise duet of “Gata Gangster” with Reggaeton king Don Omar!
You never quite know what you’ll get with a Daddy Yankee live show. A surprise guest star? Thundering bass beats? Or maybe an opportunity to make 19,999 new friends. Keep ‘em coming Big Boss!

Looks like he's back at it, thanks to his wonderful nurse and girlfriend Daisy Fuentes who was with him every step of the way!
Tickets for the sure to be sold out shows go on sale this Saturday (July 24) at 10am through Ticketmaster and range from $95- $250.

Looks like Aventura's got some competition! Bronx-born bachatero Prince Royce is already selling out concerts with his contemporary Latin pop rhythms. After his successful debut performance at last week's "Premios Juventud," Royce arrives in Europe this week to begin his sold-out tour!

Tr3s' former Descubre and Download Artist humbly shared this statement:
"I am extremely surprised by the love I have received from the Spaniards and Italians. It is something I would have never imagined. It is the first time I ever visit Europe and my tour here is completely sold-out. . . It is a blessing!"
Royce's single "Stand By Me" has dominated Spanish and Italian airwaves even before the 20-year-old stepped foot on the continent. And that's not all.. the bilingual bachata 1961 Ben E. King classic remake recently reached #2 on Tropical Radio and #1 in Digital Tropical Single sales, and remained there for several weeks.
The track has also received such wide acceptance that it's being played on many English-language Hip Hop/ Pop stations, marking the first time a bachata song has achieved this honor!

Back in the late ‘90s, everything old became new again with the resurgence of Cuba’s Buena Vista Social Club. Founded back in the 1940’s, the Havana hot spot housed dozens of eclectic Latin artists specializing in bolero, mambo, rumba, jazz, and more. Unfortunately, the club closed down, the musicians scattered, and they didn’t record together until some 50 years later. When the wildly successful Buena Vista Social Club album was released in 1997, most of the original gang were pushing 85 and up!
Thankfully, Barbarito Torres, Omara Portuondo, and Manuel Galban are still alive and planning to tour this summer! Their kickoff this weekend (backing up Goldfrapp at the Hollywood Bowl no less!) marked the first time the Buena Vista Social Club had appeared in America since 2003. With the older ages of many of its members, let’s hope it’s not the last.

According to Reuters, trombonist and band director Jesus "Aguaje" Ramos said the group was looking forward to playing again for fans. "For us, it's beautiful, because we left behind a public interested in Cuban music -- a public loyal to son, to danzon, to bolero," he said, referring to the group's musical styles.
Unfortunately, a few members are longer with us. Ibrahim Ferrer, who performed on the big hit Chan Chan (featured in "Training Day"), passed in ’05, followed by original pianist Ruben Gonzalez and bassist Orlando Lopez.
Most of us have all heard the album, but seeing this group of musicians perform live is an experience that transcends any set of iPod headphones. Even though visa issues delayed US appearances (and denied their NY visit – BOO!), their 25 date European tour is still going strong!
If you’ve got a summer Euro trip planned, do yourself a favor and catch Buena Vista Social Club on tour! You'll be glad you did.
