What is a party without a little perreo? Puerto Rican duo Alexis y Fido officially dropped their fifth album Perreologia this week, which offers up fourteen new tracks to shake inappropriately to at the club or in the privacy of your own home. The duo, who have been involved in Puerto Rico's reggaeton movement since childhood, are known for their raw approach to the classic reggaeton beat. Alexis y Fido's new album offers many infectious tracks including one of our favorites titled, "Energía." The song has hooks full of energy and gallant-like lyrics honoring the special ladies in their lives. Unlike their last hit studio album Down to Earth, Perreologia includes a slew of collaborations with top-grade artists like Daddy Yankee, Franco el Gorila, Tony Dize, and so many more. Overall, the album is pouring with creative energy that's aimed to please.

Tr3s was granted exclusive access to the album release party at the Katra Lounge on Wednesday night. We got to hang out with the fellas and find out what the socially conscious group thinks about the university protests in Puerto Rico, what fans can expect from their new album Perreologia, and even got a special message for fans!

What can your fans expect from your new album Perreologia?

Alexis: Bueno, this album was made with lots of love for the fans. It’s dedicated to everyone that enjoys our music and el perreo that makes you want to have a good time on the dance floor. We were so lucky to collaborate with so many people like Tony Dize, Daddy Yankee, Flex, Eddie Avila, Franco el Gorila, Nova y Yori and so many more. We really produced this album with so much love for the fans. If they end up grabbing it, I know they won’t regret it.

You guys are known for being masters of wordplay. What inspired the lyrics in this album?

Alexis: Fido is the one that comes up with all of it. He is the mastermind.
Fido: Bueno, the fans are who really inspire us. We started to build on the songs based on what we thought our fans would really enjoy. I am very observant and like to stay on top of current events and what is going on in this world. All those things inspire us.

Speaking of current events, what are your thoughts on the university protests going on in Puerto Rico right now?

Fido: I support the students completely because I was a student at the University of Puerto Rico. There were always problems when it came to access to grants and scholarships. It’s true that financial aid is there to help us, but it wasn’t enough to cover the cost of books. This happens to so many students and they need more support to build a future for themselves.

What message do you give to those students in Puerto Rico that are struggling with this situation right now?

Fido: To keep going with their message. I know that a lot of artists from our industry are supporting them and they have our support too.

What can fans look forward to next from you guys?

Alexis: We are working really hard to promote the album. Right now we are planning on touring the States and getting the word out on this album. So far the response has been crazy. We really want to thank our fans for all the love.

Fido: We are also hitting up Panama City and Ontario in April. So you know, just traveling and trying to get the message out. Like Alexis said, this wouldn’t be possible without the fans.

Well, you don't have to imagine, porque es una realidad! We told you before about how MTV News caught up with el dúo de la historia, Wisin y Yandel, on the LA set of their latest video "Imagínate" with Mr. Auto-Tune himself, T-Pain.

If the title sounds familiar to you, it's because W & Y recorded a track by the same name with their ex-homie Tony Dize. But since they're no longer affiliated, parece que decidieron grabar esta versión en Spanglish with T-Pain.

The new video, directed by Jessy Terrero, has a funeral scene filmed at a cemetery complete with coffin, black dress code, and, just in case tears weren't enough, water works galore! I'm sure we can expect a very cinematic video from Jessy, como siempre! We can't wait to see it!

But in the meantime, check out a message from W & Y, courtesy of MTV News. [MTV News]

Wisin y Yandel have sparked caliente controversy over their recent collaboration with Tony Dize for their latest album “La Mente Maestra.” This chisme spread through the streets like wildfire and our brave souls are dead in the center of todo el fuego!

The música masterminds recently published an announcement on their official site declaring, “Wisin & Yandel se vende a Tony Dize." Fans immediately began speculating whether the dynamic duo were permanently expanding their affiliation with the "Permítame" reggaetonero. It turns out that the controversial statement was made to promote their latest collabo "Se Vende."

The Boricua duo recently spoke about their industry hustle:

These fellas definitely know they have the goods to keep us guessing! "La Mente Maestra" was slated for release on November 4th, but the date was recently pushed to November 11th due to Election Day. Apparently they rather you run to the polls instead of to las tiendas to cop their new release. They just earned plus points in our book! [MTV Tr3s Radio Noticias, ElCorillord.com]

Rakim & Ken-Y has been known for producing intoxicating duets with artists like Don Omar, David Bisbal, and Tony Dize, but only one reina has managed to set these puertoriqueños on fire...

The “Te Regalo Amores” duo are representing for Ivy Queen and are peacefully declaring their own take on La Caballota's feud with Calle 13. El Visitante was inspired to address his beef in the group’s new track “Q lloren,” and Ivy responded with a few fighting words in return.

While hitting-up Mi TRL, the reggaetoneros declared why they side with Ivy on this one:

That was very gallant of them! Let's hope they don't get caught in the crossfire. Be sure to check out exclusive Rakim & Ken-Y pics and catch the duo tomorrow on Mi TRL at 4pm and 9pm. [MTV Tr3s Radio Noticias]

Ladies rejoice! We previously reported rumors claiming that Tony Dize and Jenny Gomez got hitched in Santo Domingo, but there seems to be no truth behind the hype!

Truth is Tony is still a bachelor looking for true amor. So what was the deal with the wedding picture that resurfaced? The romantic ceremony captured was being filmed for a new music video. This chick seems dulce enough to play with dolphins at la playa, but could she be loyal enough to be considered wifey material? [Latin Gossip]

It's hard to keep up with all the reggaetoneros getting hitched now-a-days! Tony Dize was the latest fly boy to say his 'I do's' to "La Vitrola" television host Jenny Gomez in Santo Domingo this past weekend.

The lucky lady has modeled for the country's national beer campaign and has strutted her goods in several music videos. Sounds like the perfect woman to wife-up! Que tu crees? [Desahogate.net]

Just when you think reggaetoneros are in the clear with Don Omar getting off last week, another one gets in trouble with la ley.

Tony Dize was arrested yesterday while riding as a passenger in his friend's car. The driver was pulled over for tinted windows but while offering up his license & registration,  cops caught a whiff of ganja on board.  Was the Permitame singer taking a ride on the Pineapple Express? [Primera Hora]

We've barely wiped our lágrimas dry to write this post. It's a time for for tears, mujeres. Tomorrow our beloved Wisin will celebrate his “despedida de soltero." No, we didn't translate that wrong. You heard it right -- the last single man in the duo dinámico has been snapped off the market. Wisin is marrying novia Yomaira Ortiz, his love of tres años, in Cayey, Puerto Rico tomorrow. The reggaetonero tried to keep the boda hush-hush but we managed to find out it'll take place in a "country club-like" setting among friends and family like Yandel, Yandel's eyebrows, Franco “El Gorila” and Tony Dize. Invitations to the event were handed out in person to guarantee total confidentiality.

Yandel, who's playing padrino tomorrow, is happy for his other reggaeton hermano and his future esposa:

Eso es lo más bonito que hay. Las mujeres son lo que te da dirrección, es lo que te hace correr por el carril. Asi que muchos besitos a Yomaira, de verdad y muchas felicidades a W que se va a casar. Es una decision muy bonita que esta tomando.

Que crees? Are Wisin y Yomaira a match made en el cielo? [reggaetonimpacto.com]
