In case you were wondering, that black ribbon Rafael Nadal wore at this weekend’s Madrid Open was not a fashion statement. The Spanish tennis great actually tacked it on as a tribute for Spain’s legendary golf master, Seve Ballesteros, who died of cancer early Saturday morning.

Looking at the final scores of the Open’s Saturday semifinals, Ballesteros had a lot to be proud of. Spain’s racket-swinging golden boy dominated his arch rival Roger Federer on the clay. Unfortunately Rafael couldn’t quite keep up the streak on Sunday, losing a tight match to Novak Djokovic.

But regardless of the weekend's tennis outcome, it was Seve who captured the majority of Spain's attention. A sports legend in his home country, Ballesteros’ video tribute at the Madrid Open brought tears to the audience (and to Rafael). As a celebrated winner of tournaments like The Masters, the Ryder Cup, and the British Open, Seve’s unique style has influenced everyone from Lorena Ochoa to Tiger Woods.

Tiger called him,

"One of the most talented and exciting golfers to ever play the game."

And though Rafael comes from an entirely different sport, he made sure to acknowledge Ballesteros' contributions as well.

"It's a sad day for Spain and the world of sport in general,"  Nadal said at the Madrid Open. "He was one of the best golfers of all time and one of the best athletes this country has produced. He was a pioneer."

You know your public image is in trouble when your own products stop bearing your likeness. Ever since the Tiger Woods cheating scandal broke, sponsors have been hesitant to associate their products with the golf pro. Now EA Sports, which produces the hugely successful Tiger Woods PGA Tour video game series, is replacing his cover picture with a yellow flag.

OK, it isn’t just any yellow flag. The new box art for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 will feature the iconic flag from the Augusta National Golf Club — a shocking departure from the 11 previous editions with Woods' face printed right on the box.

EA, of course, denies that the new imagery has anything to do with Woods' recent divorce woes. According to Sports Division President Peter Moore, “You shouldn’t read anything into the fact that Tiger’s not featured on the box art.”

But with Golf Digest ending its 13-year partnership with Woods just 2 weeks after Gillette declined to renew his endorsement deal, his marketability remains questionable.

"Of course, one could argue the decline in the interest of golf has to do with Tiger's extended absence and returned poor performance," videogame analyst David Cole of DFC Intelligence told the Hollywood Reporter. "But even if that was true, it says a lot about the PGA Tour and their over-reliance on one person to carry the whole league. PGA exposed itself to this risk and now is facing the consequences."

Woods himself didn’t seem too upset about the situation (at least not publicly).

“I am very happy and excited," he said. "There are many new and unique elements in the game that will make everyone feel like they’re really competing at Augusta National.”

The real question is, will PGA Tour 12 be any good? The game will feature several new courses, a host of popular golfers (sorry, Oscar de la Hoya didn't make the cut) and The Masters tournament for the first time ever. Sounds good to this writer, with or without that yellow flag on the cover. We'll find out for sure when Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 arrives in stores March 29.

Could Tiger Woods have an illegitimate love child with a porn star? That's what Devon James is claiming! The escort alleges that Woods fathered her now nine-year-old son, Austin. The son is reportedly the result of a "two-girl" party to which Woods paid $2,000 to each girl.

If it's any consolation, that at least places the boy's birth prior to Tiger's walk down the aisle with soon-to-be-ex-wife Elin Nordegren.  

The Sun reports that "Tiger Woods: The Rise and Fall," a new television documentary, will claim that the golf superstar had a secret kid — and that there is DNA evidence to back up the allegation. However in a surprising twist, E! caught up with James' mother, who claims this story is completely false!

Sandra Brinling, Devon's mother, told E! that not only is Woodsnot Austin's father, she labeled her daughter a "pathological liar" for even alleging it.

Nike unveiled a new commercial on Wednesday (April 7th), featuring Tiger Woods and the voice of his deceased father, Earl Woods. By using existing recordings, it sounds like Woods' father is addressing him about his recent sex scandal. Creepy!

This is a bold step for Nike, who chose to stick by their spokesperson after the golf champ lost three major endorsement deals with Gatorade, AT&T, and Accenture. But did Nike and Woods take it too far? Watch below.

Trouble in Paradise? Seems like it! Alex Rodriguez has finally split from actress girlfriend Kate Hudson.

The Yankee slugger called it quits about a week ago after la pareja came back from a trip to Europe, a source said. The main reason for their split?  Parece que Kate's a bonafide party girl! Apparently she fought with A-Rod during the World Series because she wanted to go out and party, and he did not.

The source went on to describe their relationship as "tumultuous," noting it was full of ups and downs. The split will no doubt be difficult for their children. Alex’s daughters really liked Kate, and Kate’s son Ryder was — according to Access Hollywood — already calling A-Rod "Daddy."

A-Rod has now moved back to the Florida home he previously shared with his ex-wife, Cynthia, the source confirmed.
