Wondering why Thalía has been in hibernation? The Mexicana is currently suffering of lyme disease, an illness that is transmitted by ticks.

The bella 37-year-old and her mother, Yolanda Miranda, were both bitten by the blood-feeding mites outside her New York City mansion a couple of months ago. Reports confirm that Thalía caught the virus early and sought medical attention immediately after feeling fatigued. Doctors prescribed antibiotics for the illness, which should relieve any permanent damage.

Our spies are always on the prowl! We hear that our favorite mamacita Thalía was missing in action at her own honoring ceremony hosted by the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors Awards (HOLA) on Monday night.

The "Sangre Caliente" singer was set to receive a special recognition for her long-lasting 30-year career in entertainment and outstanding philanthropy efforts. Thalía sincerely apologized for the scheduling conflict and had her business partner Horacio "El Pelón" Ontiveros except the “Hola ILKA Award” in her behalf. [MTV TR3s Radio Noticias]

Sin duda, the Mexicana must have celebrated her shout-out with hubby Tommy Mottola...

Thalía has been showing off her urban side with recent opus Lunada. The hype began with her reggae-induced song “Aventurero," a beat that featured a mystery guest artist (Sean Paul anyone?). Ahora, the Mexican pop star has joined forces with El Cangri to record a remix version of hit single "Ten Paciencia." The new version is due to hit the airwaves esta semana.

While this collabo might come as una sopresa to many of her fans, it was a no brainer for the current Artist Speaking Tr3s chica:

Thalía will be flexing her mamacita skills as the comadre of telenovela star and amiga, Itatí Cantoral's baby girl. The two stars grew a tight friendship after working together on the 1995 novela "María Del Barrio," and are now planning on spreading the love to their next generation of hijas.

Thalía has much to be happy about these days. The release of Lunada has kept her in the spotlight, and the birth of her baby has kept her glowing. However, if you were to ask the Mexican pop star what she's most happy with in her life, the answer won't be her successful music or acting career, clothing line or any other business venture:

Thalía's 13th studio album, Lunada, hit the shelves this week and we want some feedback! The Latin Grammy-nominated superstar describes her latest work as "an expression of freedom and rejoices," and says that this album is a product of the happiest time of her life.

Definitivamente este disco viene en un momento muy importante en mi vida. Estoy completamente motivada, completamente ilusionada. Estoy enamorada de la vida. Este disco es fiesta, este disco es vacación, se llama Lunada, porque eso es lo que quise proyectar.

While most of the album does give a soft, sensual feel, it wouldn't be complete without una canción dedicated to her baby, Sabrina Sakae, which is entitled "Bendita." This is not your average, sappy lullaby, however. Instead, Thalía shakes things up with an upbeat, reggae-inspired jam.  Little Sabrina's got one fabulous mami!

We've been hearing some rumors about Thalía's upcoming album Lunada (out on June 24th!), particularly in regards to la canción "Aventurero." Apparently, this song is not exactly what you would expect to hear from the Mexican pop princess, as it features a prominent "urban" artist. No one's spilling the fríjoles just yet on quien es el misterioso guest performer - you'll have to wait 'til Tuesday to find out for sure - but we have a feeling it will be a nice surprise to some! Thalía has confessed that she likes to try new things, hence her experimentation con un nuevo sonido.

Cuando uno se queda en una zona de confort - en un cuadro donde uno esta seguro, donde aquí no salgo porque me da miedo - es cuando menos cosas buenas pasan en tu vida. The undisputed reina de telenovelas is back from maternity leave - trading in baby bottles for celebration cocktails - to launch her new album Lunada. The Mexican songstress/actress/mamita caliente hit La Gran Manzana this week for a press conference and album release party to promote the new release. Due out June 24th, Lunada features the single “Ten Paciencia”, a song chosen by her fans to be the first cut off the album. If you haven't heard, escúchalo aquí.

We were a tiny bit skeptical when we heard Thalía would pose nude for PETA’s “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign and join Eva Mendes and Roselyn Sanchez on the PETA roster. So we decided to put our journalism skills to use – we didn’t go through four years of college for nothing you know! – and do a little digging on Thalía's naked romp for furry creatures.
