Something tells us Steven Seagal has way too much time on his hands. With not a lot of film projects in the works, the former action star has decided to uphold the law in real life, as a Texas border patrol sheriff.
Now we all know that Seagal has had his "issues" with undocumented immigrants. There was the infamous tank incident and that buddy-buddy relationship with Arizona sheriff, Joe Arpaio. But this latest venture seems to be his most controversial move yet.
Shown happily sporting automatic rifles, Steven has sworn to "uphold the law" and secure the U.S./Mexico border. It's all rather confusing to us, especially when you consider that Seagal appeared in the pro-immigrant film, Machete.
But with his not-so-trim physique and advanced age, we doubt he’ll pose too big of a threat. Seagal officially reports for duty in early 2012.
What do you think about Steven's new gig? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.

I guess you would expect these sort of things to happen to a town where the Mayor is an 11 year old girl! A soon as Mayor Caroline Gonzalez took office in her town of Forney, Texas - after winning a competition to be "Mayor For One Day" by raising money for orphans - the first thing on her list was to change Main Street name to Justin Bieber Way!
"I like his music and I like him," Caroline said, "So I thought, why not have a street in my hometown named after my favorite singer?"
In less than 48 hours, Mayor Gonzalez' request was put into effect and Justin Bieber Way went up in Forney Texas, a town near Dallas. Another 48 hours later the sign was snatched, stolen and gone!
Mayor Gonzalez' father, Tony Gonzalez, said that he had to break the news on their way to her orthodontist appointment. According to him, Mayor Caroline was furious that her legacy had been tarnished. He said that he had never seen her so mad!
Darren Rozell, the actual Mayor of Forney said,
"We don't know if it was a crazed fan who decided they had to have it or what."
Although we don't know the thief's reasons, lets hope it was a love crime and not a hate crime!
City Officials have made a new replacement sign and are hoping that that it will last through today, the first day of school.
What would you do if your Main Street was changed to Justin Bieber Way?

It looks like we know where to shoot the next season of Quiero Mis Quinces. According to Fox News Latino, Texas is fast becoming the quinceañera capital of the U.S. With its now-famous Quince Expo, a growing Latino population and a wide variety of vendors, the state is helping this timeless Latin tradition thrive.
The Latino Bridal & Quince Girl Expo is held in five Texas cities each year, attracting more than 6,500 people to its recent show in Dallas. Featuring hundreds of vendors, the event unites families with dresses, hairtsylists, DJs, choreographers, and even horse-drawn carriages.
“Even during a bad economy I haven’t seen a drop in business,” said Raymond Macias, of Unique Promotions of Dallas. "There are so many quinces in one weekend that some churches hold mass for as many as 10 young women at one time."
According to Macias, families often spend as much as $60,000 for the one-night event. Dinners can go as high as $10,000 and DJs can often cost thousands more.
Fans of Quiero Mis Quinces are well aware of that. Memorable quinceañeras from past seasons have included fashion runways, decked out limousines, and even giant coffins in the middle of the dance floor. Obviously, none of that stuff comes cheap.
These dances have become so popular that new quince-centric businesses have opened to cater to the industry's growing clientele. Entrepreneur Oscar Mendoza recently opened Elegancia Formal Wear near Dallas, a dress and costume store dedicated to the quniceañera craze.
“There aren’t any other stores that cater to Latinos and quinceañeras in this area, so I might as well take a chance,” he said.
Other businesses, such as Coreografia Quality, have opened to teach routines to the birthday girl.
“We’re not cheap,” Coreografia Quality’s Daniel Sepulveda said. “We demand anywhere from $2,000 to $3,000 per night.”
And that’s not all. With such trailblazers as QMQ’s Rene, it’s quite possible that quinceañeros could become the next big trend. Perhaps it's time to start investing in Texas tux shops, too.
Have you noticed an increase in quinceañeras lately? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.

Este viernes pasado, Aventura were granted the key to the city of Houston, TX, during a sold-out show. El grupo bachatero from the Bronx were handed the key by the mayor, Bill White, y el día Dec. 4, was proclaimed "Aventura Day."
Congrats! Este parece ser el año de Aventura, as the band has raked up the most nominations for los Premios Lo Nuestro, in addition to selling out several concerts on their current tour, and even performing for President Obama earlier in the year. El grupo will also appear on el show de Cristina esta semana to put un punto final to the rumors of their possible break up. Con un año tan exitoso, we sure hope the rumors are false!

Our Latina representative on ABC's Desperate Housewives is sharpening her pencils porque está de regreso a la escuela! That's right, Eva Longoria Parker announced that she will be going back to school for a Masters' Degree in Chicano Studies y Ciencias Políticas. The Texas native has said that she is anxious to learn more about her roots and reconnect with the Spanish language.
Though la actriz has not yet revealed which university she'll be attending, we're sure we'll be able to find her by the crowd of paparazzi sneaking pictures por las ventanas de las aulas!
As if going back to school wasn't enough, Eva is also currently taking on her first ever Spanish-speaking role in the film 'Días De Gracia,' with director Everardo Gout en la Ciudad de México. The film, due out in 2010, is a story about kidnappings surrounding three World Cup tournaments. Acting alongside Ms. Longoria Parker will be our other favorite Eva, actríz Ameri-Cubana, Eva Mendes.
Mucha suerte a las Evas, y que viva México! [AP]

America woke up to pop-punk style this AM when Demi Lovato hit the Good Morning America stage in NYC, performing the title single from her upcoming album "Here We Go Again" live. Peep the performance right here.
The Disney dame appeared in an ensemble fit for a Tim Burton muse at the morning show: lace ballet skirt, strappy heels, blazer, b&w top and funky tulle hair ornament. Topping off the look with rockin' ruby lips, the Texas-born Latina was a delicious pop-art confection to get the morning started.
Slept in too late to catch Demi this morning? No te preocupes, she's a night owl too. The lovely Lovato will be squeezing in her third live appearance of the day (she made a cameo on The View after GMA) on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Fellas dry clean your flawless tuxedos and ladies make sure to floss your devil red lipsticks because it's time to mark your calendars for Daddy Yankee Day.

El Cangri was honored for his global youth outreach program, "Corazón Guerrero," and was given the "Emissary of the Muses" award from the nation's largest Latino museum, El Museo Alameda in San Antonio, Texas. The ciudad's mayor also made everyone mark their calendars for Daddy Yankee Day, which was officially set for December 4th. Missed it? No importa...we are spreading the festivities con gusto!
The "Somos De Calle" reggaetonero revealed the following about the local celebration:
Of all the awards I've received, this honor from the Museo Alameda and the city of San Antonio is the best of the best - because it is from the people,' he said. 'I encourage everyone to visit this wonderful museum - there is so much to learn here.
We wonder if he will also give back to la comunidad by giving away free "DY" fragrances on his día especial! Seguro que no, but we are down with the festivities anyway. Are you?

Ladies love cool bachateros and sultry Spaniards...
While Latin Pop and Bachata seem like an odd couple, Enrique Iglesias and Aventura are still packing-up stadiums across the United States. Our pretend novio, Enrique assures us it makes a lot of sense:
