Ok, so maybe the newest Miss USA isn''t an "official" Latina. But if winner Alyssa Campanella and the two runner-ups decide to step down, then we'll have a Mexican-American representing us at this September's Miss Universe competition. In fact, there were quite a few Latinas competing at the pageant, along with African-Americans, Indian-Americans, and more.

In one of the more diverse Miss USA competitions in recent memory, ladies from all different backgrounds strutted their stuff for judges like Lil Jon and Tyson Chandler. Reality gurus Andy Cohen and Giuliana Rancic MC’d the ceremony and got quite a lot of people to tune in. Believe it or not, the NBC special drew over seven million viewers.

Ultimately it was Miss California, Alyssa Campanella, who won the title after tackling a very interesting question. When asked about the legalization of marijuana, the red-headed 21-year-old answered quite liberally,

"I understand that medical marijuana is very important for those who need it legally. It's abused, but that's the only reason I'd be against it. I'm not sure legalizing it would have much of an effect on the drug war."

Of course, our money was on Miss Texas, Ana Rodriguez (who was third runner-up in the finals). The Mexican-American schoolteacher looked ravishing during the swimsuit competition and was rumored to be the favorite early on.

Florida's Lissette Garcia (above) also received high marks for her poise and demeanor. Born to Cuban parents, she's a fluent Spanish-speaker and earned an easy slot in the competition's Top 16.

But, it was Campanella who won the hearts of the judges. And seeing how she's a massive Game of Thrones fan, we figure she can't be all bad.

Robert Pattinson
fans got a big treat at last night's MTV Movie Awards. The 25-year-old Twilight star dominated the stage at L.A.'s Gibson Amphitheatre, taking home Best Male Performance, Best Fight Scene, and Best Kiss. Not only that, his Twilight: Eclipse film took home Best Movie of the year.

But, in between R. Patz moments, there was plenty of glam, glitz, and unpredictable comedy. Host Jason Sudeikis made sure to include some Arnold Schwarzenegger jokes in his monologue and even singled out Selena Gomez for a raunchy one-liner! But his shining moment was undoubtedly the opening Hangover Part II parody, which featured a hilarious cameo by Eva Mendes.

Other LOL tidbits came courtesy of Jim Carrey, who wore an image-flashing suit while presenting The Foo Fighters. Comic Aziz Ansari also got some laughs with his Jaden Smith impersonation, but perhaps the most off-the-wall moment occurred when R. Patz kissed costar Taylor Lautner on stage!

One of the trademarks of every MTV Movie Awards show are the sneak peeks of upcoming summer films. And this year's batch are sure to generate a ton of buzz. Throughout the evening, exclusive new scenes were shown of Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Super 8, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

As far as the big winners go (other than Robert Pattinson of course), there were quite a few that got the crowd buzzing. Justin Bieber took home Best Jaw Dropping Moment for his concert film Never Say Never and interestingly did not thank his new gal pal in his acceptance speech. And up-and-coming Latina Alexys Nycole Sanchez got a huge response when she won Best Line From A Movie (for her "I want to get chocolate wasted" moment from Grown Ups).

As expected, fashion was a huge part of the evening. Twilight’s Kristen Stewart got the most attention for her safety-pin studded ensemble and sleek black pumps. Harry Potter’s Emma Watson went for the more sophisticated look, sporting a Marchesa-designed white mini skirt. Prom’s Aimee Teegarden stood out with her colorful flowing dress and former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes took a little heat for flossing way too much spray-tan.

At two hours, the show definitely packed a lot in and never felt rushed or boring (are you listening Oscars?). Add to that a killer live performance from Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz, and it's clear that this year's MTV Movie Awards definitely delivered the goods.

Don't let her casual outfits and laid-back attitude fool you, Brazilian beauty Gisele Bündchen is actually on track to become the first supermodel billionaire! Adding together her fashion shoots, public appearances, and licensing deals, Forbes has put her current net worth in the hundreds of millions.

Believe it or not, Gisele has ranked as the top-earning fashion model for seven years in a row. But proving that she's a lot more shrewd than your average runway strutter, Bündchen has begun purchasing stakes in a variety of her products.

One of her most popular footwear lines, the Grendene Ipanema sandals, sold over 25 million units in 2010 alone. Add to that a Gisele skincare brand, a popular assortment of Brazilian lingerie, and her worldwide real estate investments (she owns properties in Brazil, Costa Rica, and Los Angeles) and you've a full-blown cash machine.

But don't think that Bündchen’s keeping all that money locked away in a bank. She and hubby Tom Brady have made sure to enjoy their wealth. Back in December, we told you about their massively expensive "winter wonderland" and now the power couple is looking to spend $20 million for a customized home near L.A.'s Santa Monica beach.

There's old school and there's VERY old school. And by the look of Selena Gomez' new album cover, it's clear she's gone for the latter. Channeling a classic flapper style from the 1920's, the Biebs' main squeeze is certain to turn heads with When The Sun Goes Down.

Technically credited to Selena and her band The Scene, When The Sun Goes Down has been talked about for months. It features collaborations from stars like Katy Perry, Britney Spears, and Antonina Armato. Not only that, it also features her hot new track "Who Says," which is already a Top 20 single on the Billboard charts.

Released just 10 months after her last record, Gomez is striking while the iron's hot. Now more popular than ever (thanks in part to her recent high-profile romance), Selena has been aggressively promoting the album on Twitter and other outlets.

"I wanted to be the first to give ya'll a sneak peek of my upcoming album cover for #WhentheSunGoesDown out June 28" she recently posted.

Set to hit shelves next month, there's a lot to look forward to on When The Sun Goes Down. Especially if you happen to buy it at Target. Selena's releasing a special version of the album to their stores with four extra bonus tracks.

Curious about what summer's newest fashion craze is? No, it's not 70's t-shirts or checkerboard shorts, it's actually sparkly pointy boots from Matehuala, Mexico! Believe it or not, the "elf shoe" craze is sweeping the tejano dance scene and may be making its way to the states.

Looking like something straight out of Lady Gaga’s closet, the boots can extend as far as 35 inches and come in a variety of colors. Everything from bright purple to bedazzled gold, to even neon red versions of the footwear are now available.

Mexican shoemaker Darío Calderón credits the craze to a mysterious stranger known as "César of Huizache." According to Fox News Latino, Cesar entered Darío's shop not too long ago requesting a custom pair of pointy-toed kicks. Showing a cell phone pic as an example, he got Calderón to crank out a pair with tips that were 23-inches long.

"I thought, ‘what’s up with this dude?" Dario explained.

But he went along and produced the boots anyway.

Not long after, the Huizache man debuted his shoes at a popular Matehuala nightclub and the rest is history. Though César seems to have disappeared, his one-of-a-kind legacy lives on.

Now Calderón has built a major business around producing the fancy footwear, charging up to 400 Mexican pesos (around US $34) for each custom pair of boots. And several club dancers have gotten rather creative with their kicks, adding strobe lights, shiny belt buckles, and whistles!

The boot designs have actually become so popular that they were featured in a wedding scene from the hit novela Triunfo del Amor (for the record, William Levy was not the actor sporting the pointy toes). And it wouldn't surprise us if Antonio Banderas' kitty character steps out in a pair when he makes his big film debut.

Though we're still not sure how comfortable it would feel getting our boogie on in those things, we could definitely see at least a few new moves coming out of the craze. Maybe "The Elf?" or "The Aladdin?" All we're saying is, this summer don't be surprised if you need to make extra room on the dance floor for a freshly polished pair of pointy boots!

Los Angeles got an overload of beauty as Victoria's Secret supermodels Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio gathered for the brand’s annual “What Is Sexy” event. Celebrating the most gorgeous women in Hollywood, the gala brought out a pink carpet, dozens of photographers, and some of the most gorgeous women in the world.

Brazilian beauties Adriana and Alessandra looked phenomenal strutting down the runway. Lima was flaunting an eye-catching leopard print ensemble, while Ambrosio’s Dolce & Gabana mini dress drew cheers from the male spectators. Joined by fellow beauties Miranda Kerr and Erin Heatherton, they made the perfect reps for Victoria’s Secret new "Bombshell Summer" line.

But flash bulbs aside, the true purpose of Thursday night’s event was to celebrate the leading ladies who define sexy. And judging by the honoree list, it's clear that the judges made all the right calls.

This year’s "What Is Sexy" list included Rihanna for "Sexiest Songstress," Dianna Agron for "Sexiest Smile, and Mila Kunis for  "Sexiest Actress." And as far as the "Sexiest Curves" winner goes, Tr3s fave Sofia Vergara took that title home hands down!

Not many of us can say that our grandma was a full-blown chemist. But Salma Hayek Pinault can! And she’s claiming that her abuelita’s “secret formulas” are the inspiration behind her new beauty line.

We first told you about Nuance back in March, but now it looks like the products are one step closer to completion. And according to Salma, launching this business was no easy task.

"I took three years off my [acting] career to work on this," she said. "This is not something that required 14 hours. Nooo, baby. This has been a full-time job."

Besides being backed by one of the most ageless Latinas in Hollywood, Nuance also offers some major affordability. This past week, Salma announced that products from her exclusive CVS line will run between $7.99 and $19.99.

"It is possible to create extraordinary product for a low price," Hayek Pinault explained. "Everyone should have the right product at the right price. A lot of products don’t even cost a lot to make. I wanted to make simply the best product and give everyone access to the good stuff."

She also explained how her grandmother (who inspired Nuance) was actually a trained cosmetologist who studied at Vichy Labs in Paris. 44-year-old Salma confessed that her abuelita’s beauty secrets, which reportedly include a mix of French, Native-American, and Mayan traditions, have contributed to her wrinkle-less appearance.

You can find out how well the Hayek Pinault family recipe works when Nuance hits the shelves this August!

It’s got to be cool to be an international jet-setter at the age of one-and-a-half. And right now, that seems to be exactly how the media’s pegging little Benjamin Brady. This week, the tyke joined his supermodel mom Gisele Bundchen on a whirlwind Brazil trip to help promote her new clothing line.

Gisele has made quite a few treks to her home country in recent months. Back in March, she headlined one of Carnival’s most popular floats and she’s been working very closely with Brazil’s Ipanema shoe line to develop unique sandals and footwear (some of which go as high as $130 per pair).

For this latest journey, Bundchen will be making a big announcement about a partnership with clothing line C&A Brazil. Blogs are reporting that Gisele may even do a surprise fashion show in one of the company’s San Paulo stores.

When speaking about her newest venture, Bundchen said,

C&A invited me to create a collection that has my signature personal style. It was really cool being involved in the design side of the fashion business. It is more fun to be part of the process and not just a model. My goal with the collection is for it to look fashionable and be super comfy.”

Obviously a lucrative deal like that will keep her high on the list of Most Powerful Latinas.

For over three years, young women have emulated the fashion designs Scarlett Johansson has flossed in her Mango ad campaigns. But now it appears as though the Barcelona clothing company is officially parting ways with its movie star model. And though the split appears to be amicable, it’s still a little sad when you consider how stunning ScarJo looked in each photo spread.

Founded in 1984, Mango has built quite a rep for attracting A-list talent to pose in its clothes. Both Penelope Cruz and her sister Monica have appeared in campaigns, even designing their own Mango line of accessories. Scarlett continued the tradition and helped expand the brand to a worldwide audience.

Since she first signed as the company’s “face,” Mango has branched out to include over 1,700 stores and launched a major partnership with department chain JCPenny.

And just to prove that there are no hard feelings, ScarJo is appearing in one final campaign for the line. Showing off Mango’s “modernist resort” collection, Johansson is appearing in a very racy summer-themed shoot snapped by famed photographer Mario Sorrenti.

But don’t feel too sorry for Mango just yet. Though they’ve lost Scarlett, they have gained Shakira’s new boytoy Gerard Piqué. The fútbol star is now the official face of Mango’s HE and, who knows, he may just bring along his new girlfriend to fill in for that open position.

Looking at the sexy pix Vogue Italia just posted, it’s hard to believe the model is a charming young mommy-to-be. Channeling her inner goth girl, Jessica Alba posed for the magazine in leopard prints, fetish masks, and a short-cropped black wig.

Those who’ve followed Jessica’s screen career know she’s very capable of showing a darker side. Roles like Nancy Callahan in Sin City and even Special Agent Rivera in Machete have displayed a tougher edge to the actress. But none of that quite compares to how she looks now.

Vogue Italia has wiped away Alba’s trademark smile and replaced it with some seriously pouty poses. Not that it’s such a bad thing. It’s hard to deny Jessica’s sex appeal when you see her in that tight black dress and shimmering jewels.

Even Alba herself is anticipating a strong reaction to the shoot. On Twitter this week, she posted a comment preparing her fans for a whole new Jess.

“wht do u think of my spread in ths months Vogue Italia? -it's the edgiest photo shoot ive done. U can p/u a copy at intl news stand.”
