The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 premiere  took place this week @ the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The fourth installment of the blockbuster film franchise, which hits theaters this Friday, chronicles the lavish forest wedding (one of the biggest weddings shot in movie history), island honeymoon and impending parenthood of mortal teenager Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and her vampire crush, Edward Cullen, played by Stewart's real-life love  Robert Pattinson.

The Breaking Dawn - Part 1 premiere event was streamed live on Yahoo!. A spokesperson said the event drew the largest simultaneous audience for a live movie premiere in Yahoo! history.

The premiered was swamped with hundreds of screaming fans. Many had traveled from far away and camped out for days to catch a glimpse of the stars of the vampire series.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner walked down an appropriate black carpet which welcomed them at the Nokia Theatre. Stewart vamped it up in a long purple and black gown with a thigh-high split, while Pattinson wore a fitted gray suit. The pair, alongside heart-throb Lautner, also in a gray suit, posed for the cameras and signed autographs for their fans.

The star-studded black carpet premiere was full of celebrities including singer Bruno Mars, actors Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ashley Tisdale, and Australians Sharni Vinson and Cody Simpson.

One thing is for sure, even though the premiere has come and gone, the after party was done spectacularly and is one that Hollywood will forever remember. The Chad Hudson-produced celebration took its cue from Twilight and featured a large space transformed partially into Bella and Edward's wedding reception and partially into their honeymoon location. According to The Los Angeles Times, perhaps the most breathtaking design was a set of wooden benches surrounded by vines and more than one thousand wisterias.

I guess we’re gonna have to go see the film to check out these lavish sets! Films buffs have predicted record-breaking ticket sales for the last two parts of the film series, which are adapted from Stephenie Meyer's novels. I know I'll be adding to those record breaking sales this weekend!

Are you going to see  Breaking Dawn - Part 1 ? What are you most excited about seeing in this film?

We have great news, Stephenie Meyer fans! in addition to the recent 'Twilight' graphic novel release, there's more to celebrate:

The author has announced she is publishing a new book called "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner," due in bookstores June 5 and available for free at BreeTanner.com from June 7 to July 5.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

Meyer writes on her Web site:

"I was thinking a lot about the newborns, imagining their side of the story, and one thing led to another. I started writing from Bree's perspective about those final days, and what it was like to be a newborn.

The novella will act as something of a companion piece for the "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" film. But it begs the question: Who exactly is Bree Tanner?

MTV News recently published a handy cheat sheet, with some juicy details:

An "Eclipse" Exclusive:
If you've only been watching the "Twilight" movies or read the first two books, don't be shocked that you have no idea who Bree Tanner is. In fact, don't be upset if you read "Eclipse" and still have no idea who she is. Tanner is a character introduced a startlingly short amount of time before she dies in "Eclipse" and could be considered (to everyone except Stephenie Meyer) to be a throwaway character.

A Short Life:
Tanner is only introduced 10 pages before she is killed off in Victoria's war against the Cullens and the Quileute werewolf tribe. However, of all the newborn vampires discussed in "Eclipse," Tanner was one of the few to be named and introduced to the readers. Unfortunately, it didn't take very long after she was turned into a vampire for her to meet her end ... again.

Dramatic Death Scene:
It turns out Tanner isn't the best newborn vampire among them all, and she isn't a big fan of killing innocents and drinking their blood. She tries to join forces with the Cullen clan and adapt to their "vegetarian vampire" lifestyle, but ends up being killed by Felix on the orders of Jane, a member of the Volturi guard (played by Dakota Fanning in the film), in the final battle.

Comic lovers and Stephenie Meyer fans have something to celebrate today: the release of Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1!

Twilight: The Graphic Novel Vol. 1

Twilight: The Graphic Novel contains selected text from Meyer's original novel with illustrations by Korean artist Young Kim. A rare fusion of Asian and Western comic techniques is reflected in this black-and-white graphic novel with color interspersed throughout. Meyer consulted throughout the artistic process and had input on every panel.

"I've enjoyed working on this new interpretation of Twilight," said Meyer. "Young has done an incredible job transforming the words that I have written into beautiful images. The characters and settings are very close to what I was imagining while writing the series."

Because of the original Twilight novel's length, the graphic novel will be published in two volumes. There is no information yet on whether the last three books in the series will be adapted to the format.

Time will tell if fans like the graphic novel medium for 'Twilight'. TwilightLexicon.com, a popular Twilight fan site, recently conducted an online poll. 30% said they would definitely buy the graphic novel, 50% said they wanted to see it before deciding, and 20% said they weren't interested in graphic novels.

Fans devoted solely to the films shouldn't feel left out: 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' will be available on DVD and Blu-ray this Saturday, promptly at the stroke of midnight.

What could be bigger than Twilight or the Jonas Brothers?

How about combining the two? If the JoBros have it their way, that's what would go down. MTV News caught-up with the heartthrobs recently and found out the trio actually hearts the Stephenie Meyer vampire franchise. So the question now is, will they be featured on the New Moon soundtrack? Nick would be all for writing a song for the sequel:

The movie was obviously a huge success, and if they asked us to be a part of [the sequel], that would be great!

Well whether or not director Chris Weitz will court the group is yet to be determined, but that gives the Jersey natives more time to at least see the Twilight movie first! See what else the "Lovebug" singers are working on, including a V-Day performance on SNL this Saturday.

Do you want los Jonas hermanos on Twilight's soundtrack?

Team Jacob fans can breathe a little easier today...

The debate of who should play Jacob in Stephenie Meyer's next installment is finally over. Taylor Lautner fans can now rejoice as the author just confirmed that he is here to stay. She quoted director Chris Weitz as saying:

I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in 'New Moon' and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.

Speculation about Lautner's future with the franchise has run rampant since Weitz took the reins from original director Catherine Hardwicke. Many felt the 16-year-old actor would have a tough time filling Jacob Black's shoes, given that the shape-shifting character ages 10 years and has a growth spurt in the second novel.

But have no fear, in rebuttal to that Taylor has been hitting the gym, hard. Guess we'll see if he makes a good fit in November. [MTV News]

Say it isn't so! Today is our last Twilight Tuesday (sniff). To commemorate the monumental date, we are going out with a bang by showcasing the behind-the-scenes madness at the Twilight premiere.

On Monday night, Bella and Edward celebrated the long-awaited Twilight premiere with thousands of their closest friends at the Mann Village Theater. The on-screen star-crossed lovers weren't the only estrellas of the night. Everyone wanted an exclusive taste of the red carpet action, including author Stephenie Meyer, Taylor Lautner, Demi Lovato, Aly Michalka and Frances Bean Cobain.

After the official viewing of the crazed vampire romance, guests walked through Westwood to the nearby Armand Hammer Museum for an upscale after party in an outdoor courtyard. Attendees were greeted with (virgin) martinis, a decked-out buffet, and a dessert stand featuring chocolate-chip cookies on lollipop sticks. QUE DULCE!

We even have la noche's top favorite moments lined-up para ti:

Most random celeb sighting: a toss-up between Kim Bassinger and Larry David.
Wildest moment: security getting called numerous times to tame the packed crowd around Pattinson and Camilla Belle dancing.
Fun fact: The longest line of the evening was the one for Meyer, asking the author for her autograph and engaging her in conversations about Edward's sparkle.

Get more detalles on the event and find out why Robert Pattinson found the whole evening rather 'frightening' below:

"It was all a dream..."

Words made famous first by rapper Biggie Smalls and most recently, author Stephenie Meyer. With only one week to go until the Twilight release extravaganza, we see it fitting to get a few words straight from the source. Meyer sat with MTV News in Los Angeles to dish on working with director Catherine Hardwicke, thoughts on the popularity of her baby Twilight and why her and Robert Pattinson bumped heads on the set (can we say DIVO?). Check out what the most popular stay-at-home mom had to say right below. [MTV News]

Don't forget to catch more behind-the-scenes chisme on Twilight when "Spoilers" airs tonight at 11pm and tomorrow at 9am on MTV Tr3s!
