Miami Heat and Puerto Rico's National team leader and point guard Carlos Arroyo now joins a list of NBA players like Shaquille O'neal, Ron Artest, and Allen Iverson to attempt a career in music. The difference between Arroyo and the rest: He's really good at it!

Arroyo debuted his reggaeton jam “Se Va Conmigo feat. Yomo” at his recent 31st birthday party in Puerto Rico, where Carlmelo Anthony, Ivy Queen, and his academy award winning cousin Benicio del Toro were in attendance. Way to do it big!

Yesterday (August 9), Guatemala’s prized singer songwriter Ricardo Arjona released the first
single from his upcoming new album due out on August 24, Poquita Ropa. The single titled
simply “Puente” is an evocative sample of what’s to come from the talented artist on this new
project.

Ricardo Arjona

La canción empieza como una balada, with soft yet urgent lyrics over piano calling out to
Havana, Cuba. Arjona le canta a ese lugar que solo queda a 90 millas de los estados unidos,
but seems so far to the families who cannot reunite with their loved ones. The music picks up
tempo con ritmo caribeño, and he sings for a bridge that would reconnect los cubanos de
Miami with their cousins on the island.

The music video for “Puente” was filmed in Mexico and Argentina, directed by Joaquín Cambre,
quien ya ha trabajado con Arjona para su vidéo “Sin Ti, Sin Mi.” It’s scheduled to premiere on
August 17th, so all you Arjona fans, look out for that!

A day after ex-girlfriend Rihanna dropped her single "Russian Roulette," Chris Brown responds with the equally slow-tempo ballad "Crawl." As previously reported, Rihanna's single alludes to her abusive relationship with Brown, and "Crawl" responds to Rihanna with Brown singing about a relationship that has slipped away from him.  Could this be a publicity stunt by the estranged couple? The timing couldn't be more impeccable for their dual releases. What do you think?

"Crawl" is the second release off Brown's forthcoming album, Graffiti. The first was "I Can Transform Ya" featuring Lil Wayne.  A release date hasn't been set for Graffiti, but if this pattern is any indication, we're guessing it'll hit stores close to Rihanna's Rated R on November 23rd.
