Colombian pop diva Shakira ended 2011 on a high note last year, celebrating the holidays with her family with a surprise visit from her boyfriend, Gerard Pique, in Miami for her mother's birthday, earning her Person of the Year award at the Latin Grammys, receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and, perhaps her most cherished achievement: falling in love with Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique.

The two have been inseparable since before their romance went public last year, after her 11-year relationship with her Argentine manager Antonio de la Rua, also ended publicly as word spread of his alleged infidelity, and her romance with Pique simply couldn't be hidden from public view.

So it's no surprise that as the singer turns 35 her still-flourishing romance to Pique continues to make news, not because of any impending breakup or fighting, but because, for a celebrity pair, it has actually appeared to go quite well for them publicly.

Last year, the soccer star celebrated Shakira's birthday with friends, opting to spend their mutual birthdays together and announcing as much to the world on Twitter.

This year reflects a couple reaching new heights in a relationship that reportedly began in 2010.

According to MSN's Wonderwall Latino, Pique raised the bar for men everywhere by giving his popstar girl a shiny new...no, not a wedding ring, yet. Instead, he opted for a Mercedes Benz SLK, valued at an estimated $55,000. Thanks for putting us all to shame, Pique!

Shakira's P.R. camp has been on damage control duty this week after news broke that a secret sex tape of her and boyfriend Gerard Piqué may exist. The clip in question is reportedly 90 seconds long and took place after one of Gerard's futbol matches.

Now keep in mind, these are all rumors at this point. But the story is definitely picking up steam in the gossip blog department, with dozens of outlets reporting on it.

Apparently, an ex-staffer of Shakira's secretly videotaped her performing oral sex on Piqué. The unnamed "filmmaker" is now trying to use the footage to blackmail the couple, threatening to go public with the tapes if they’re not paid up.

It all sounds rather messy for Shaki and Gerard, who still haven't publicly responded. Perhaps they should consult a few other famous "experts" about how to handle this difficult situation.

What a way for Shakira to start 2012!  According to Colombian magazine Cromos, the sexy music sensation has been caught on camera ringing in the New Year with illegal fireworks!

Shaki was filmed with Chispitas Mariposas, the famous "butterfly sparklers" while standing close to a large lit rocket. The sparklers, along with all other fireworks, are illegal in Colombia unless they're handled by professionals.

To make matters worse, the footage shows Shakira surrounded by children as she waves the sparklers dangerously close to their faces, causing a media outcry.

Shaki is now being criticized for going against the extensive campaign in Colombia against firework burns, targeting young people. Recent figures indicate that hundreds of people were injured by fireworks this holiday season in Colombia and over half of them were minors.

What a wild year it's been in the chisme world. There were enough baby bumps, nasty divorces, and estrella scandals to fill five seasons of Popland! And before that ball drops on 2011, we thought it would be fun to look back on some of our favorite Blogamole stories throughout the past 12 months.

2011 certainly kicked off with its share of chisme. There was that January announcement about Shakira splitting up with her longtime boyfriend Antonio de la Rua. Now we all know that she was spotted with her current flame, Gerard Piqué, just a short time later. Could there have been an overlapping relationship? We'll probably never know for sure, but thankfully Antonio has landed on his feet in the love department.

And speaking of love, quite a few new celebrity couples emerged in the past year. Perhaps the biggest of them all was Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. These two started getting spotted together in late 2010, but didn't announce their official "relationship" until the Oscars after-party in March.

Casper Smart and Jennifer Lopez made surprising couple news when they became an item this past November. Of course, that attaches itself to a much bigger chisme story; the JLo/Marc Anthony divorce! Nobody in the media saw that breakup coming and, from what we've heard so far, the split was not acrimonious.

Several other famous faces parted ways with their steadies this year. Zoe Saldana, who had been with her boyfriend for 11 years, broke off her engagement in November. And Ana de la Reguera endured a pretty public split too. Her man, Univision anchor Jorge Ramos, publicly cheated back in January.

But the year wasn’t just filled with scandals. Plenty of happy new arrivals kept gossip blogs buzzing too. Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem welcomed their first child in January, Jessica Alba gave Honor Marie a younger sister back in August, and Benicio del Toro became a first-time daddy after a tryst with Kimberly Stewart.

2011 also proved to be stellar year for some Latino up-and-comers. Romeo Santos proved he could handle solo stardom just fine after the release of his album, Formula Vol. 1. Victoria Justice also created quite a bit of buzz this year, and not just for her singing abilities. She was able to hold down a hit TV show, movie roles, and major merchandising deals! One of our personal faves, Sie7e, made a big mark too, winning Best New Artist at the Latin Grammys.

But if we had to award one Chisme King of the Year, it would have to be Charlie Sheen. The self-described "Warlock" made more Blogamole headlines than just about any other star. Whether it was his "Tiger's Blood" rants, his Two and a Half Men drama, or his wacky intern program, Mr. Sheen definitely made for an eventful 2011.

That being said, there are still a few more days until the December 31st clock strikes midnight, so you never know who else may make the annual chisme list!

We know, a list calling itself "The Hottest Women Of All Time" is definitely considered subjective. But Men’s Health magazine seemed to be on the right track with their new highly-touted countdown. 100 ladies were featured in their "Hottest" breakdown, including quite a few sexy Latinas.

The first Tr3s fave to appear on the list comes in at #60. A Puerto Rican beauty who's just as famous for her behind as she is for her face, do you have any guesses as to who this might be? Yup, JLo made the cut and was particularly praised for her sexy looking outfits in the film, Out of Sight.

Closely following Jenny From the Block is the always lovely Jessica Alba. She ranked 54th, which seems like an injustice to us. With her flawless skin and firm body, Alba definitely deserves to be in the Top 10. We demand a recount!

Penelope Cruz also got some Men’s Health love, ranking #32 on the list. And just to further prove her "Hotness," the magazine posted an extra sexy pic of her for their online gallery. Following Pe came two blonde-haired Latinas, namely Gisele Bunchen (at #25) and Cameron Diaz (at #24).

Salma Hayek clearly wowed the Men’s readers, as she was ranked higher than both Kim Kardashian and Beyonce! Coming in at #22, she's the top mexicana on the list. And their editors made a very good point about Salma, emphasizing that she still looked "Hot" even in her frumpy Frida makeup.

Shakira comes up next at #18, proving that Gerard Piqué is a very lucky man. But the highest ranking Latina of them all? That would the #2 woman on the entire list. A bombshell from the swinging 60’s era, Men’s Health chose Raquel Welch as their ultimate Hispanic goddess. Not a bad call if you ask us. This half Bolivian beauty is still stunning at the ripe old age of 71!

And, for the record, Men’s Health’s "Hottest Woman of All Time" is…(drum roll please) Jennifer Aniston.

Remember those famous locks that Shakira used to shake around in her music videos? They are now long gone. The Colombian songstress debuted a drastic new hairdo on Twitter this week.

"Hace 4 horas estoy estrenando corte de pelo!! 4 hours ago I got my hair cut!" she wrote, along with a Twitpic.

Chopping her trademark blonde hair down to the length of her shoulders, Shaki seemed pretty happy about her new look. But so far, the web reaction has been mixed. Some fans love the new bob, while others still seem to be mourning the dreadlocked Shakira of old.

Interestingly, Too Fab compared the new Shaki to Dianna Agron from Glee. Of course, the She Wolf's "do" is nothing compared to what Katy Perry's done recently.

Who knew Shakira was so steeped in the literary world? Not only is her boyfriend's dad is a celebrated author, so is her own father, William Mebarak. And this week, Shaki's papi released his fifth book, which happens to be edited by the She Wolf.

Al Viento y al Azar is a collection of essays and short stories about love, politics, and the enjoyment of life. Though William wrote the works himself, it was Shakira who compiled the writings and helped get them published.

It's also interesting to note that Shaki wrote the foreword to the book, which includes plenty of loving words to her dear papa.

"In Al Viento y al Azar, I was captivated by everything: the rebellious attitude of some of its texts, the anarchy in its structure, the brutal honesty in his words," she wrote in the libro's introduction.

Al Viento makes its big debut in Colombia this week and you can bet Shaki will be on hand to promote it. And while we're sure it will sell respectable numbers, something tells us Mebarak's next book will be the real bestseller. William's upcoming work is supposedly a biography of his famous daughter.

It looks like Shakira has "officially" been embraced by her boyfriend's padres. Gerard Piqué's mom and dad happily posed with Shaki during a recent a press event and seemed more than eager to accept her as part of their family.

"We love you as much as we love Gerard," Piqué's dad Joan told her in front of the paparazzi cameras.

In case you're wondering why the Piqué family made such a public appearance, it's because Joan is actually a celebrated author. His new book, Two Lives, was just released in Spain and the entire family (including Shaki) stood beside him on the first stop of his promotional tour.

Two Lives is actually a stirring fiction novel, which Joan hopes to publish internationally. The proud dad made a point to thank his soccer-playing son for inspiration during the writing process. And perhaps if Lives ever makes it to the big screen, he can thank Gerard's galpal for a soundtrack contribution.

Good news Shakira fans! If you've got a few million bucks to spare, you can have the Colombian songstress perform at your next birthday party. And that's exactly what Indian real estate mogul K.P. Singh got to experience, when he turned 80 this week.

Apparently Shaki flew to the Indian city of Udaipur for the festivities, then took a decorated boat to Singh's private island. And once she arrived, she got her "Waka Waka" on at one heck of a party!

According to Hispanically Speaking, K.P's cumpleaños fiesta featured Bollywood stars, intricate dance numbers, and a few hundred of his closest friends. Not only that, he was treated to all of the She Wolf's greatest hits!

But don't think Shaki's Indian visit was strictly for the payday. While visiting the country, she made sure to drop by needy schools and impoverished communities.

There were several phenomenal performers that shone on the Latin Grammys stage at last night. Sie7e's 'Yo Tengo Tu Love' was a huge sensation with the crowd, while Pepe Aguilar brought his mariachi band for a full-on Mexican performance during the latter half of the Latin Grammys.

Shakira made it snow at this year's Latin Grammys with a subtle shower of glitter during her long-awaited performance. She brought the winter wonderland to Las Vegas, wearing a sparkly fitted dress with a loose peaches and cream skirt. The cherry blossom trees decorating the stage gave her act a fairytale quality, and her soft vocals lent an eerie dreamy quality to her song.

I guess the theme was precipitation this year, because Maná also made it rain on stage while they played 'Lluvia Al Corazon.' More rain is forecast to come later in the evening, during Marc Anthony and Pitbull's performance. Stay tuned.

The Colombian songstress did an encore performance later on that evening after they announced her much-deserved honor for person of the year. Her humanitarian efforts were highlighted in a comprehensive video montage right before she took the stage for a second time.

Shakira then proceeded to serenade us with some Steven Tyler-inspired moves, complete with scarves on the microphone stand and all. She then took her red jacket off and proceeded to rock the house to 'Loca,' with her amazing voice and hypnotic dance moves.

Demi Lovato was a big hit with her duet with Pablo Alborán, singing "Solamente Tú." I don't think many people are used to her singing in Spanish, but she proved she could hold her own. Her voice sounded amazing.

Mark Anthony’s performance with Pitbull for 'Rain Over Me' was very dynamic, and the chorus line of dancers behind them made it a great act. Half the dancers were getting rained on, while the other half re-enacted a number that seemed straight from the Broadway hit Chicago, complete with chair dances and all. These two Latinos sure know how to work a crowd!
