Clearly A.B. Quintanilla wanted his famous late sister to be part of his big wedding day. But wearing a jacket with a giant Selena image on the back may be taking the tribute a bit too far.
In what several gossip sites have described as "tacky," Quintanilla strutted down the aisle for the fourth time flossing his famous hermana for photographers. And interestingly, the Selena exposure wasn't the only reason A.B. was taking heat.
Quintanilla's new bride is a full 25 years younger than him, which means she was only 6-years-old when Selena lost her life. But, judging by the pictures Guanabee posted, these two seem to be head-over-heels for each other.
Images include the two making out in front of the wedding cake, toasting champagne glasses, and posing along Quintanilla padre, Abraham. Judging by the extravagance, it's actually too bad they didn't reach out to Tr3s, as this would've made some great material for Quiero Mi Boda.

Way before there was Ms. Gomez, another Selena stormed the charts with a unique blend of Tejano and Latin rhythms. Tragically, her 1995 murder cut everything short and prevented us from hearing that gorgeous voice sing new music…until now. This past week, Selena's father, Abraham Quintanilla confirmed that there are unreleased tracks in the vaults and they will be made public within the next year.
"I own 5 Selena tape masters from pre-EMI times," Quintanilla said. "There's a total of 50 [unedited] songs. We picked 10 of those songs and we're currently working on refreshing the music. We want to rejuvenate their sound, bring them up-to-date."
Keep in mind, the "lost" Selena tracks were made when she was in her mid-teens and may lack the maturity of the songs she recorded shortly before her death. But for her die-hard fans (and there a lot of them), that won't matter.
It is being reported that Selena's brother A.B. Quintanilla is helping to oversee the project and may even be incorporating a few new cumbia elements into the songs. Apparently the game plan is to spread the 50 tracks across five CDs, the first of which should appear by early 2012.

Take a closer look the next time you get a letter in the mail, it may have the face of a famous estrella stuck in the top right corner. Yup, the U.S. Postal Service recently announced that five Latin music icons will be getting the stamp treatment in the coming year.
And why not? Snoopy, Hello Kitty, and the Liberty Bell have been gracing envelopes for more than enough time now. Wouldn’t you rather have Selena or Celia Cruz plastered on that Hawaii postcard? And there are plenty more where that came from. Tito Puente, Carmen Miranda, and Carlos Gardel will also be part of the collection.
We know what you’re thinking. Why aren’t there any current Latin artists included in the set? According to the U.S. Postal Service, only people who have been deceased ten years or longer are eligible for the honor. With that rule in mind, each of the five choices makes perfect sense.
Carlos Gardel passed away back in 1935 and is often-times forgotten for his contributions to modern Latin music. Born in Argentina in 1887, his distinctive voice shaped dozens of classic tango songs, including the legendary “Mi Buenos Aires Querido.”
Carmen Miranda died in the 1950’s, but any fan of classic movies (or vintage cartoons) will never forget her memorable “fruit hat” and sexy dance moves. Tito Puente also rose to fame in the same era, but continued his success all the way into the 1990’s. His bossa nova bandleading skills can still be felt in virtually every modern salsa club.
Celia Cruz passed away in the early 2000’s, but her musical influence spanned over six decades. Billboard named her “the most influential female figure in the history of Cuban music” and we most certainly agree! Plus her winning smile looks great on that stamp.
Sadly, the most recent deceased star on the list is Selena Quintanilla. Though she should be well into her Tejano music career at this point, her 1995 murder cut everything short. We think it’s great that the Postal Service is honoring her brief moment in the spotlight and you can bet she will be a permanent part of the Blogamole stamp collection.
We highly recommend picking up some Latino stamps on your next trip to the post office. Each one features a gorgeous illustration of their respective star and will be a great treat for any music fan’s mailbox.

Let's face it, Latinos don't need much incentive to set off a good fiesta. But as of tomorrow, we'll have a very legitimate excuse para estar de escandalosos for the next month, as we honor our Hispanic Heritage from September 15 through October 15!
In addition to the many reasons we already have for celebrating our all-around wonderfulness, Warner Brothers is joining in on the merriment by offering a one-of-a-kind package of the best movies by Hispanic actors and filmmakers ever made! Whether you're a fan of Guillermo del Toro's "Pan's Labyrinth," can't get enough of watching Marc and JLo in "El Cantante," or perhaps seeing Javier Bardem in "The Sea Inside" is more your flavor, Warner Bros. te brinda todas estas películas y muchas más, available in a special Hispanic Heritage themed presentation via On Demand (Cable). For all you tech savvy consumers, all of the films will also be available for download via iTunes. We're predicting some "Stand and Deliver" viewing parties in the near future!

Speaking of "Stand and Deliver," know who else is just as excited about this Warner Brothers presentation? Uno de los orgullos más grandes que tenemos en el cine norteamericano, our very own Mexican American sire of the cinemas, Edward James Olmos. He's convinced that Latinos are probably the biggest consumers of technological media, so he knows we'll be all over these flicks, both ordering and downloading, maybe at the same time.

Part of this special Warner Bros. hook-up will be two of EJ's most famous films, "Selena" and, you guessed it, "Stand and Deliver." We spoke at length with Mr. Olmos about his amazing career, his love for the arts, and how he celebrates su herencia mexicana in an exclusive interview.

Say it ain't so!!! As the 15th anniversary of Selena's passing quickly approaches on March 31st, a new book penned by Cristina Castrellon, a close associate of La Reina de Tex Mex, supposedly reveals the intimate details of the singer's life and afterlife...as interpreted by a psychic!
Selena: Su vida despues de su muerte recalls Castrellon's close friendship with the singer and describes her as a generous woman of simple tastes and a deep rooted faith in her ability to triumph; a woman who was proud of her Hispanic heritage and who felt an absolute passion for music.
In addition to detailing Castrellon's friendship with Selena, the book also presents the expert psychic’s revelations on La Reina, including six messages to Selena’s closest friends and loved ones. Hmmm...We wonder what the Quintanillas have to say about this?
What do you think? Genuine messages from beyond or a gross exploitation of one of the most beloved singers in Latin music? Weigh in below!
