It's official! Selena Gomez is purchasing the language-learning software Rosetta Stone in hopes of mastering el Español in the near future.

La joven cantactriz, who is Italian on her mother's side and Mexican on her father's side, recently admitted to Latina that occasionally she gets nervous at Latin awards shows because she’s not entirely confident in her Spanish speaking skills.

"I really want to get Rosetta Stone, because I really need to learn my language. I practice [Spanish], but I can understand it better than I can speak it.

So in a lot of my interviews that I did recently, they would speak to me in Spanish and I would answer back in English. They were like, 'You pick it up so easily,' but I don’t want to say it in Spanish because I’d be embarrassed if I mess something up."

Pobrecita - you get an E for Effort, Selena! However, like other A-list Latinas before her, Gomez believes you have to speak Spanish fluently to be a "real" Latina.

"At first I did, but then I started to see all these people that accepted me regardless of the fact that I didn’t speak it."

We're with you Selena! The Disney starlet, who is currently putting the finishing touches on her next album A Year Without Rain (out September 21), is also fresh off an Emmy Award win for the Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie," which was awarded an Emmy for Outstanding Children's Program last week at the Creative Arts ceremony, during which awards that don't make it onto the Primetime show due to time constraints are presented.

Selena Gomez is on a role. The eighteen year-old actor, singer and entrepreneur's new clothing line Dream Out Loud hit Kmart stores Sunday (August 1), just in time for back to school shopping!

Gomez described her collection to Women's Wear Daily:

"[It's] the whole Texan cowgirl meets the glam Boho chic of Hollywood. Since the announcement, we added a lot of accessories. I love scarves, and long necklaces and cute bangles. It’s constantly changing, which is cool. It will change with me.”

The Dream Out Loud collection defines Selena's girly-grunge style and includes leggings, tunics, slouchy beanie caps, oversized sweater tops, floral skirts, cardigans, and fringed and embellished accessories.

The line is age appropriate and is sure to outfit teens from head-to-toe, boasting a variety of shoes, handbags and accessories in addition to the clothing.

Toddlers, tweens, and teens have been obsessed with the lovely Selena Gomez since she began her acting career on "Barney & Friends" and later moved on to become a Disney starlet quickly garnering her own beloved show, "Wizards of Waverly Place." On Thursday (July 22) however, Gomez turned 18 and has more to look forward to than an adult male fan base and lotto tickets...Voting!

Selena said in an interview:

"I can vote now, which is exciting! My mom and step-dad are always really involved with voting and I've always said, 'Well, what’s the point of me getting into it if I can’t even vote?'"

On what party she'll choose, Gomez continued:

"I'm not in a specific place. I like to look at both candidates and see what they each have to offer."

Other than her newfound political freedoms, Selena isn't too impressed by becoming a legal adult:

"It’s weird because I don’t feel 18. Everyone keeps saying it’s a big year and I’m like, 'Is it really, though?' "

Gomez and her family will celebrate the big 1-8 this weekend with a down home Texas-style barbecue in California with 250 of her nearest and dearest.

Selena Gomez may be saying goodbye to her hit Disney series "The Wizards of Waverly Place" after one more season, but the young actress has a bright and busy future to look forward to.

When Gomez sat down with MTV News to chat about her upcoming film "Ramona and Beezus" due in theaters July 23, Selena shared her heartbreak and enthusiasm over the decision:

"Unfortunately, I'm doing my last season of my show, which I'm really heartbroken about. That's gonna be a terrible time for me. I'm gonna do a movie for my show, which I'll be excited to end it with, and then a tour."

In addition to the planned "Wizards" movie and "Monte Carlo" with Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester, Gomez is excited about releasing her sophomore album which is tentatively scheduled for a 2011 release.

"The title so far of my album, I mean, I'm hoping it will stick is A Year Without Rain. It's basically one of my favorite songs on the record. It's kind of got a more feel-good dance beat and feel. I love it. It's different, kind of shows my growth of my music. I think if anything the lyrics are powerful, in a way,"

Selena even has a favorite track:

"There's the song called 'Intuition' that's one of my favorites. The message is basically every decision that you regret or second-guess, [just] do it [anyway]. I love that message so much."

It’s pretty amazing that Selena Gomez nabbed a Teen Choice nomination for a movie that hasn’t even been released yet!

The Teen Choice Awards are an awesome launching pad for a young celeb’s career. It's helped boost star status for peeps like Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and tons more. Next month’s ceremony looks to be jam packed with A-List potential!

There’s Katy Perry on host duty (who got a big nom for herself with “California Gurls”), a Christina Aguilera performance, live Miley Cyrus, and more! And don’t think for a second that Selena’s the only Latino to root for that night.

George Lopez is up for best Scene Stealer in “Valentine’s Day”, Zoe Saldana scored THREE nominations in the Actress categories, and Demi Lovato’s fighting for Best Pop Album (Not to mention ANOTHER Selena nom for “Wizards of Waverly Place”).

This week, Selena Gomez was spotted all over Europe, hand-in-hand with fellow ‘it’ girls Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy. No, this wasn't a BFF trip of sightseeing and shopping, these ladies were actually on the set of their new comedy flick, "Monte Carlo". We admit it; we're jealous.

Featuring a cast of major up-and-coming Hollywood players, "Monte Carlo" has holiday hit written all over it. You’ve got a Gossip Girl star, a Latina pop and Disney Channel sensation, "Glee" hunk Cory Monteith, and a producer by the name of Nicole Kidman!

This week's cameras caught the ladies at the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, and the historic Notre Dame Cathedral. And that’s only the beginning! Within the next month of shooting, the girls will be headed to Budapest, Monaco, and many more overseas locales.

There is no question that teen mania is hitting this year's BET Awards! Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have snagged nominations for the upcoming 2010 BET Awards on June 27 at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium.

"The Wizards of Waverly Place" star landed a nomination in the "Young Stars Awards" category while the "Baby" singer earned himself a spot in the "Best New Artist" category.

They may not have an average teen's lifestyle, but they definitely act like it. Selena Gomez recently celebrated her high school graduation on and off-screen. Although she didn't get to attend an actual graduation in real life, the Disney star filmed a graduation ceremony for the upcoming flick, "Monte Carlo." We all know Justin Bieber has caused headlines and mega tweet fests over his new bird tattoo. Cute. Really cute.
