These days it looks like Sofia isn't the only Vergara entertaining audiences on the small screen. Her famous namesake Sandra will soon be making a splash on home TVs too, with the release of Fright Night on DVD and her new MTV pilot, Dumb Girls. Vergara spoke to us exclusively about what goodies her fans can expect.
"Everything has been so amazing," she said. "I love making these movies and shows."
Sandra got to flex her horror chops in this year's Fright Night reboot. Her role as the wisecracking magician's assistant Ginger received quite a bit of praise. And it also happened to be her big screen debut.
"Fright Night was actually my first feature," she said. "What was so great about it was that it was funny and scary at the same time. Plus, it was so much fun to make!"
And Fright fans may get to see a bit more of Ginger on the DVD. Set to come out this Tuesday, it's got a ton of extras, including deleted scenes, documentaries, and a "Terrifying Trivia" section.
"There was so much extra stuff we shot for Fright Night," Vergara explained. "I'm actually not sure if I'm in the DVD deleted scenes, but I sure hope so!"
Another big project Sandra's got on the agenda is MTV's Dumb Girls. Created by the team behind the hit show Awkward, it follows several colorful young ladies making their way in the big city.
"I just finished shooting Dumb Girls and it was a ton of fun," Vergara told us. "It's kind of like a young version of Sex And The City. I play the spicy Latina friend. My character definitely gives the show some edge."
Of course, with Sandra's proven comedy skills, we had to ask about a Sofia collaboration…or perhaps a guest shot on Modern Family?
"I'm hoping to collaborate with Sofia soon," she said. "Right now there's nothing in the works, but hopefully in the near future there will be a collaboration."
In the meantime if you want to sink your teeth into Sandra, check out the new Fright Night DVD, arriving December 13!

You've got to feel for Sofia Vergara at the moment. In between her brother's deportation and now the news of a Sandra Vergara rift, it appears she has quite a few problems with her real-life Modern Family. The Sandra story is actually quite interesting, as news outlets are reporting that she is not Sofia's biological sister.
You may recall how Sandra was not shy about discussing her "hermana." In fact, many have thought that she used the Vergara name to score roles in CSI: Miami and the upcoming Fright Night movie. But was she fooling the public with false claims?
Technically the answer is yes. E! News has discovered that Sandra is actually Sofía's cousin and may be on the outs with her Emmy-nominated namesake. Apparently, Sofía is fed up with Sandra using her name for fame and has been distancing herself from the actress in recent weeks.
Of course, Sandra's rep is denying any problems and claims that she technically is Sofia's "sister." According to their statement, Sandra was adopted by the Vergara family at a young age and raised in the same household.
Do you think Sandra is exploiting Sofia's name for publicity? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.

It looks like Penelope Cruz isn’t the only one with a talented sibling. Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara has a little sister breaking into the acting biz too. And it looks like Sandra Vergara’s well on her way to a hot movie career, with a role in the highly-anticipated Fright Night remake.

Old school horror buffs know all about the original Fright Night. Set in a suburban town, it revolved around a normal teen who discovers his neighbor is a blood-sucking vampire! Filled with action, scary monster makeup, and a nice dose of comedy, it’s become a major cult classic.
The update is supposed to follow the old story very closely, with Star Trek’s Anton Yelchin playing the teen battling the forces of evil. Sandra is supposedly getting cast as a “magician's assistant.” Could she actually be a creature of the night herself? We’ll have to wait until next Halloween to find out.
Though she’s had bit parts in shows like Nip/Tuck, this is the first major role for the younger Vergara. It’s obvious she bears a striking resemblance to her older sis, which makes us wonder…Could her and Sofia’s real-life son Manolo be due for a Modern Family guest shot as the cousins of Rico Rodriguez? It wouldn’t surprise us.
