Russell Brand as Batman??? No, this isn’t a new casting choice by Christopher Nolan for his follow up to “The Dark Knight,” it’s the comedic star and epic Luis Guzman suited up for a scene in their new movie, “Arthur.”

Russell Brand

Russell Brand and Luiz Guzman on the "Arthur" set in New York City

First off, c’mon Nolan. You HAVE to admit Luis makes a pretty amusing Robin. If you ever wanted to do some out-of-the-box casting for that role, he would definitely stir up some buzz, right? But (as you can probably tell) these images are strictly parody.

30 years ago, one of the biggest box office hits of its day was the bawdy comedy, “Arthur.” UK funnyman Dudley Moore played a super rich dude who loved drinking and partying, despite the misgivings of his proper British family. Flash forward and that concept still holds quite a bit of relevance.

So when the studios looked to remake it, who do you think they thought of to play an “out-of-control English guy”? Yup! Russell Brand! And every rich dude needs a sidekick right? Luis Guzman fits that role perfectly (he’s been a scene stealing second banana for years). Now if only he could fit into that Robin suit…

“Arthur” is set to hit theaters in 2011.

We all know that pop princess Katy Perry and "Get Him to the Greek" star Russell Brand are on their way to the altar. But this is Hollywood, right? We don’t believe in celebrity weddings until we see them. Well now it looks like these two have taken one step closer to commitment — by committing themselves to matching tattoos!

Katy Perry

If you happened to grab the latest issue of Rolling Stone, you'll noticed that Russell was sporting some very visible new ink on his arm (perhaps even posing to specifically show it off?).

For those who were able to zoom in and make it out, it’s the Sanskrit phrase "Anuugacchati Pravaha," literally meaning “Go with the flow.” It looks like Katy has done just that — revealing the exact same tat on her arm during a recent MTV performance. It definitely makes a nice addition to the strawberry on her ankle and Jesus lettering on her wrist.

Did it pop up in her brand new "California Gurls" video with Snoop Dogg? It’s pretty hard to focus on arm art when you’ve got a naked Katy Perry dancing in Candy Land. See if you can spot the new ink below:

Katy Perry is about to get Branded... for good.

On New Year's Eve, the British comedian asked Perry to marry him, and she accepted, the couple's respective reps confirm. Brand popped the question in a tent at the foot of a mountain.

"In India, the motto is...you gotta go with the flow," she tweeted teasingly on Dec. 30, just 24 hours after they visited the Taj Mahal, which she joked he built for her. (Twitter)

In the latest issue of Glamour, Katy hinted at the future proposal:

"When I find a partner who is my teammate...I'm not going to play by any rules, I'm just going to go with my heart. Why wait? I just wrote a song [that goes], 'They say it's hard to meet your match, gotta find my other half so we can make a perfect shape.'"

The couple began their courtship shortly after the MTV Video Music Awards last September, previously reported by Blogamole (read up on how they met here). The former playboy confirmed their relationship on Britain's GMTV, calling Perry "the right one" and admitting marriage "would be good."

Felicidades a los dos! (E! News)

The 2009 VMAs was chock full of good music, juicy drama and out-of-this-world fashion.

Janet Jackson's tributo a su hermano, Michael, was not only a really heartfelt memorial, but also featured some of the most renowned choreography in the history of MJ's illustrious career, with recreations of "Thriller," "Bad," "Smooth Criminal," and "Scream."  Lady Gaga’s performance was aún más loca de lo que esperábamos with its bloody grand finale, and  Jay-Z and Alicia Keys closed the show with a hoppin' rendition of  "Empire State of Mind."  In between there were performances by Beyoncé, Green Day, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry -- as well as Wale and the numerous artists (como Pitbull! Latinos represent!) that joined him as the VMA house band.  Pink had arguably one of the best shows of the night when she performed from a flying trapeze!

Host Russell Brand kept the dirty jokes flying, Pop Queen Madonna paid tribute to the late King of Pop, and Kanye West did his best to steal the show but was promptly escorted out of the venue for another awards show outburst.  No nos sorprendió mucho!  Lady Gaga wowed with her ever-inventive vestuario, and even the Twilight cast showed up to show off the drama-filled trailer for 'New Moon.'

While Wisin y Yandel didn’t win for "Best Pop Video," Latin artists were definitely in the house!  Pitbull and Wale performed a hip-hop go-go version of "I Know You Want Me," and Mr. 305 made sure to give a big shout-out to all the Latinos!  Also representing at the show were Shakira, JLo and hubby Marc Anthony, "Blaxican" Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, and honorary Latina Nelly Furtado who gave el Dúo Dinámico a nod during her presenter's speech.

So what did you guys think about this year's VMAs? Did it meet or exceed your expectations?

Watch más videos exclusivos from the show, browse fotos and see the full list of ganadores at VMA.MTV.COM!  Also make sure to watch the show all over again con subtítulos en Español (más divertido para la familia entera!) este domingo a las 5pm EST, solo por MTV Tr3s!

Thought that the Wisin y Yandel nomination for Best Pop Video was the most exciting thing that could happen to the VMAs?  Look out, porque los VMAs just keep getting más y más emocionantes!  Just added to the list of performers are hip-hop mogul Jay-Z and avantgarde pop princesa Lady Gaga!

With a total of 9 nominations for "Poker Face" and "Paparazzi," Lady Gaga, along with Jay-Z's bella esposa Beyoncé, is the one to beat at los VMAs este año.   About getting to perform at the VMAs, Lady Gaga had this to say:

I'm simply gutted to be both a performer and nominee at the 2009 VMAs. In fact, I'm so happy, I could die.

Qué dramática!  Pero, de veras, did we really expect anything else from this over-the-top cantante?  Personally, we can't wait to see que locuras she'll be doing (and wearing!) onstage!

Jay-Z, quien está nominado para Best Hip-Hop Video y Best Male Video, will also be hitting the VMA stage in style.  Su nuevo album, The Blueprint 3, is due to drop on September 11, just two days before the VMAs.

Also announced today are three additional presenters: "Manos Al Aire" cantante Nelly Furtado, Miranda Cosgrove of iCarly fama, and "Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester, who was last seen partying it up en el más reciente video de Cobra Starship.

For more info on the show and to vote for your fave Video of the Year, Best Male, Best Female, Best Pop (hint hint: Wisin y Yandel), Best Hip-Hop y más, make sure to check out VMA.MTV.COM! You can also vote via SMS; text 97979 to vote para tus nominados favoritos por teléfono.

The show, which will once again be hosted by el escandaloso cómico inglés Russell Brand, will air live on September 13th at 9pm EST on MTV and again con subtítulos en español on September 20th at 5pm EST on MTV Tr3s! No te lo vas a querer perder, we guarantee it!

Russell Brand's loco antics are back for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards!

The host notorious for poking fun at the JoBro's 'virgin rings' will take over the moon-walkin' stage at the 26th annual VMA's on September 13th at 9 p.m. ET. What can we expect from a comedian who brought out La Britney's love for elephants? In Brand's own words, "This year will be a controversy-free festival of love and discrete orgasms." ¿Amor y qué?! Sounds like the controversy just started...

Selena Gomez caught liplocking someone other than Nick Jonas?! The teen estrella admits to getting a little smooch action in her latest movie "Another Cinderella Story," set to hit theaters on Sept. 16th.

Despite the lovely Mexicana sharing besitos with on-screen novio Drew Seeley, the actress reveals that it took ten takes to get the make-out scene just right.

Selena may have been keeping it professional, but la chica was also checking out her co-star:

You know, for me, it was a job, and for him as well, too. But I'm not complaining. He's not bad to look at.

While the star was busy kissing and telling at the red carpet premiere of her latest flick, she also made time to talk about her reaction to Russell Brand's comment about the Jonas Brothers during the VMAs:

I'm glad they realized that they're gentleman because its completely true.

Of course Gomez couldn't leave la casa without rocking her own shiny purity ring. We wonder what Russell has to say about that! [MTV News, E! Online]

Although the release date for Twilight was moved up to November 21st., there is still plenty of time to get chisme from the cast!

Weren't into Russell Brand's abrupt interruption of Robert Pattinson's announcement during the VMA's? Well, MTV News is giving Twilighters, and the cast, the respect they deserve by having Peter Facinelli get the last word. Playing a character like Dr. Carlisle with a 350-year-long history definitely merits rightful props, but Peter admits that he is always down for a good laugh...

MTV News caught up with the "Six Feet Under" and "Damages" star while on set filming some additional footage. He assured us the cast works hard and plays hard - and no one is exempt from being the butt of a prank. Check out the video to hear about the infamous prank he played on co-star Jackson Rathbone. The Video Music Awards aftermath continues! The night's host Russell Brand plagued the stage with various victims in mind including The Jonas Brothers, but the "Burnin' Up" trio has fired back...

Brand shouted out venomous comments about a slew of celebs, but it seemed that his favorite chistes of the night involved slammin' The Jonas Brothers for their sacred vow of chastity:

Well done the Jonas Brothers. Each wear a ring to say they are not going to have sex. I'd take them more seriously if they wore it around their genitals.

But these virginal playboys are not keeping their mouths shut:

Nick Jonas: For us it's cool to see that he recognizes we are gentleman.
Kevin Jonas: I think he focused on certain things and didn't move off of them. People's attention spans in America need more than that.

Luckily, our dear old Russie ended up apologizing for the fiasco by stating:

I love the Jonas Brothers, think they're really good. I don't want to p*** off teenage fans, all right. In fact, quite the opposite. So promise rings, I'm well up for it, well done.

Yea, that's what we thought! [BCC News Beat, MTV]
