Don Omar fans can look forward to getting to know the reggaetonero on an intimate level.
The "Dile" singer recently celebrated his Latino pride during a Time Warner Hispanic Heritage Month event and revealed that he will close 2011 with a couple of intimate performances in the U.S. William Landrón -his real name- may have ended his marriage to the weather girl Jackie Guerrido earlier this year, but he confirms that he is living "the best years" of his life.
He isn't exactly exaggerating since he reached the top of the music charts in the U.S. and Europe this year.
During the press conference Don Omar explained:
"At this moment I want to share with my Latino community. I always try to do better and this time I want to make it special, intimate."
Will he get as intimate as Enrique Iglesias does at his concerts? We secretly hope not! Check out the confirmed concert dates and locations below. Will you be getting to know Don Omar on an intimate level?
- Dallas: Far West nightclub (November 17)
- Los Angeles: Nokia Theatre (November 22)

If you have raw musical talent and lots of love to give, you may want to submit your musical message of love for a chance to win some cold, hard cash.
Daddy Yankee teamed up with Western Union to launch the "Love in Any Language" campaign last week, encouraging consumers to create and upload original music videos expressing their love to family and friends. "All you have to do is post the video! Easy like that," Daddy Yankee said during the launch. The submission deadline is April 18. The lucky winner will receive $10,000 and a chance to appear at the 2011 Billboard Latin Music Conference in Miami on April 27.
Daddy Yankee took some time to talk with exclusively with Tr3s about the contest, his upcoming album Prestige and much more. Here's our Q&A with the Puerto Rican reggaeton artist.
“Love in Any Language” sounds like a great initiative to find new talent. What inspired you to be a part of this national campaign?
"What inspired me to be a part of this is that I am a part of the community. The ultimate winner has the opportunity to win $10,000 and also show their talent to the world. That is going to change someone’s future completely, and I’m happy to be a part of that."
You recently reached more than one million Twitter fans, congratulations. How do you feel about the huge following?
"It’s such a great honor! Just knowing that you are touching so many people out there with your music. I receive so many tweets from different countries, so it’s a global thing."
Are there any funny fan comments that stand out?
"There’s a lot, there’s a lot. Everyday I receive so many messages, and it’s hard because you want to respond to everyone. It’s especially hard when I receive Russian tweets. It’s a funny situation. I feel like I need a translator by my side. [Laughs]"
Your new album Prestige is slated to drop this summer. What is the difference between this album and your other hits?
"The difference between this album and my other albums is that I have gotten the chance to work with many different colleagues from other genres. Basically, it feels more like an independent album. I have so many collaborations in this album and my favorite right now is Prince Royce. Reggaeton and bachata! That’s a very interesting collaboration right there!"
That’s great. When can fans expect to see you on the big screen once again?
"I’ll probably be shooting the next movie by the end of November. That’s the reason I have dropped like 30 pounds because I’ll be playing a boxer. So you know if you are going to play a boxer you have to be in shape! [Laughs] I had to do a lot of cardio, dieting, and discipline, but I know the end result will be worth it."
What other projects are you working on?
"I’ll be on tour next month. First stop will be Honduras and then Chile. After that, we will be in Europe and then the States. There is always a lot going on!"
Are you looking forward to Daddy Yankee's new album? Tell us in the comments or @MTV3.

What is a party without a little perreo? Puerto Rican duo Alexis y Fido officially dropped their fifth album Perreologia this week, which offers up fourteen new tracks to shake inappropriately to at the club or in the privacy of your own home. The duo, who have been involved in Puerto Rico's reggaeton movement since childhood, are known for their raw approach to the classic reggaeton beat. Alexis y Fido's new album offers many infectious tracks including one of our favorites titled, "Energía." The song has hooks full of energy and gallant-like lyrics honoring the special ladies in their lives. Unlike their last hit studio album Down to Earth, Perreologia includes a slew of collaborations with top-grade artists like Daddy Yankee, Franco el Gorila, Tony Dize, and so many more. Overall, the album is pouring with creative energy that's aimed to please.
Tr3s was granted exclusive access to the album release party at the Katra Lounge on Wednesday night. We got to hang out with the fellas and find out what the socially conscious group thinks about the university protests in Puerto Rico, what fans can expect from their new album Perreologia, and even got a special message for fans!
What can your fans expect from your new album Perreologia?
Alexis: Bueno, this album was made with lots of love for the fans. It’s dedicated to everyone that enjoys our music and el perreo that makes you want to have a good time on the dance floor. We were so lucky to collaborate with so many people like Tony Dize, Daddy Yankee, Flex, Eddie Avila, Franco el Gorila, Nova y Yori and so many more. We really produced this album with so much love for the fans. If they end up grabbing it, I know they won’t regret it.
You guys are known for being masters of wordplay. What inspired the lyrics in this album?
Alexis: Fido is the one that comes up with all of it. He is the mastermind.
Fido: Bueno, the fans are who really inspire us. We started to build on the songs based on what we thought our fans would really enjoy. I am very observant and like to stay on top of current events and what is going on in this world. All those things inspire us.
Speaking of current events, what are your thoughts on the university protests going on in Puerto Rico right now?
Fido: I support the students completely because I was a student at the University of Puerto Rico. There were always problems when it came to access to grants and scholarships. It’s true that financial aid is there to help us, but it wasn’t enough to cover the cost of books. This happens to so many students and they need more support to build a future for themselves.
What message do you give to those students in Puerto Rico that are struggling with this situation right now?
Fido: To keep going with their message. I know that a lot of artists from our industry are supporting them and they have our support too.
What can fans look forward to next from you guys?
Alexis: We are working really hard to promote the album. Right now we are planning on touring the States and getting the word out on this album. So far the response has been crazy. We really want to thank our fans for all the love.
Fido: We are also hitting up Panama City and Ontario in April. So you know, just traveling and trying to get the message out. Like Alexis said, this wouldn’t be possible without the fans.

Watch out Justin Bieber, Puerto Rican reggaeton star and preteen heartthrob Miguelito is building an empire.
The 12-year-old phenom has already recorded four albums (including his aptly titled album El Heredero) and collaborated with music sensations Divino, Tito “El Bambino” and Daddy Yankee. He became the youngest person to win a Latin Grammy at age 9.
Now, he's launching several branding partnerships — for a video game, hair gel, a line of party goods, a cruise, a summer camp and even a film with him as the protagonist.
His clothing line Heir, which has sold more than 3.5 million pieces through the Puerto Rican Me Salvé retail chain, will be expanded to include a line of baby clothes. And niños y niñas can now add the finishing touches to their looks with Miguelito hair gel, specially designed for kids by maker Xtreme Gel.
The video game “Miguelito's Time Traveler,” designed by Global Games Entertainment for kids ages 5 to 11, takes players on a journey through space and time to save the world using Miguelito's likeness. The game is set to hit stores in May.
"I never imagined that I'd be in a video game, but I was really moved that they would make a video game with my face, my image," Miguelito told masreggaetonflow.com. "[The child that appears in the animation] is exactly like I was at that age...."
In a partnership with Dinax Corporation, Miguelito is launching a line of party goods including cups, plates, napkins, piñatas, banners, invitations and balloons.
Puerto Rico's Moisty Skate and Park waterpark will hold a Miguelito-themed summer camp in June and July, featuring a Miguelito concert at the end of the season. Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas will feature a nine-day, eight-night Caribbean Christmas Cruise in December, also featuring a performance by the young reggaeton artist.
As if that weren't enough, Miguelito is also set to star in — and produce the soundtrack for — his first film, "Nadie Sabe Lo Que Tiene," written and directed by David Impelluso and Virginia Romero.
So, while The Biebs may have his own doll, Miguelito's likeness will soon be appearing on everything from clothing to hair gel to party supplies to vacation destinations.
What do you think of Miguelito's new endeavors? Tell us in the comments or @MTV3.

We’ve been hearing about Don Omar’s Meet the Orphans for over a year now and finally his red hot comp album has arrived! Featuring six up-and-coming reggaeton “guests,” it’s giving El Don fans a nice mix of classic stylings and fresh talent.
Even though there are plenty of featured Orphans, this is still very much an El Don record. He appears on 13 out of the 14 tracks, sharing duets with Puerto Rican protégés Kendo Kapponi, Syko, Plan B, and Zion & Lennox. He’s also brought in a French singer/songwriter named Lucenzo to add some international flava.
When speaking about the album, Omar said, “La diferencia de este disco a los demás que he hecho fue el entusiasmo que le puse, que es la clave del éxito. El tiempo me ha moldeado un carácter como un empresario y ser humano.”
Believe it or not, Meet The Orphans was originally scheduled to be released back in 2009 following Omar’s iDon album. Then it got pushed to August, then to October, and finally now. But we can’t blame El Don for being a perfectionist. Not only is he putting his own name on the line for this release, he’s also got six Orphans riding on it.
So far, this record has not disappointed. The first song released, “Danza Kudoro” hit #1 on the Latin Singles Chart. And the followup single, “Ángeles y Demonios," has got some heavy contributions from Kendo and Syko. We imagine if all goes well, you can expect some Orphan solo records in the very near future.

Although Don Omar didn't win his round of La Super Copa Tr3s, Team Blogamole has to give him major props. Not only does he know how to fire up a party with his "iDon" ways, but as the spokesperson for the 2010 Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards, the reggaetonero also encourages Latino youth to receive a college education — with free money!
The King of Kings is speaking out to all Latino high school juniors, encouraging them to apply to leadership grants funded by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. Three lucky students will be selected in each of the following academic categories, including Math & Engineering, Education, Business, Science, Community Service, and others that will soon be announced.
The hitmaker spoke out about his involvement in this program:
"I am calling on Latino youth to step up and be role models and leaders to help move the Latino community forward. The Hispanic Heritage Foundation is focused on not simply recognizing young leaders but putting them in a position from which to lead and positively affect others in the future.
Education, community service and entering the workforce in a strong position are essential for the future of America, not just the Latino community. We’re counting on our youth and I believe we’re in good hands."
Want to be a part of this amazing opportunity? You still have until July 1 to apply! The applications for the 2010 Youth Awards are now available at www.hispanicheritage.org. Buena suerte!!!

There is no doubt that Wisin y Yandel’s “La Revolución” has become a world-wide phenomenon, but the Puerto Rican reggaetoneros proved their global victory once again by performing for a crowd of over 60,000 fans last week at the Estadio Andes Talleres in Mendoza, Argentina.

The “Sexy Movimiento” stars have currently wrapped up three out of the nine concerts in the second largest South American country and have also spread their revolution throughout Paraguay earlier this month.
The Dynamic Duo hyped up the fans with pyrotechnic sounds and crazy visuals, but the extra dose of musical euphoria was when W&Y Records signed artists, Franco “El Gorila” and Tico “El Inmigrante” took the stage to flex their musical goods.
In case you are lucky enough to snag tickets to the Wisin y Yandel’s Argentinean Concert Tour, be sure to check out their additional dates below the jump!

Revolutionaries don't give up that easily! Wisin y Yandel fans: get ready, because the dynamic duo are set to release "La Revolución Live" on July 20th!

The deluxe album will feature live performances from last year's sold-out tour, including their chart-topping collaboration with Aventura, "All Up To You." While they were busy making us sway to their infectious beats, Wisin y Yandel became the third highest grossing live act last year, selling over 50,000 concert tickets in their homeland of Puerto Rico alone, according to Billboard.
Besides being nominated for the 2010 Premio Juventud for "Favorite Concert Series of the Year," Wisin y Yandel are preparing to continue world domination with the release of their upcoming album, "El Regreso de Los Vaqueros" slated to drop in November of this year.

El reggaetonero made one lady fan's dreams come true this week, but it's not any kind of fan you would expect. Tito "El Bambino" reportedly met super-fan Luz Prats, una señora de 90 años(!), who dreamed of meeting el cantante and having him sing "El Amor" to her.
Talk about a Valentine's Day treat!! La señora, who called Tito her idol, had this to say about her favorite song:
“...esa canción es donde se dice lo que es el amor, cómo llega el amor. La escuché por primera vez en la radio cuando iba para Isabela.”
Tito "El Bambino" assures that his lyrics, though primarily aimed at los jovenes, "son para todo tipo de público."
El cantante también anunció que se encuentra solterito y sin compromisos, and despite any rumors, he will not be dating anyone from the artistic world anytime soon. He also confirmed that he will be performing at the annual Viña del Mar International Song Festival en Chile este 25 de febrero.
We love that he paid his super-fan a visit and serenaded her! Que tierno, verdad? [Ritmo Urbano]
