Naomi Watts will be starring on the silver screen as Britain's Princess Diana in a new film documenting the last few years of Lady Di's life. Production on the fill will start in Britain later in the year.

While the shocking automobile accident that brought upon Lady Di's death has been featured in many television movies, Caught In Flight will be the first big screen movie made about Princess Diana's unfortunate fate. Naomi Watts feels proud to have been chosen for this role, and stated,

"It was such an honor to be able to play this iconic role. Princess Diana was loved across the world and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen."

Caught In Flight will focus on the last two years of Diana's life, particularly her two-year secret affair with Hasnat Khan, a heart surgeon, and her subsequent divorce from Prince Charles. According to British film studio Ecosse Films, the movie chronicles

"how finding true personal happiness for the first time allowed her to achieve defining success evolving into a major international campaigner and humanitarian."

Princess Diana was 36 years old when the tragic accident happened, adding to the "outpouring of worldwide grief." Oliver Hirschbiegel, director of Downfall, a movie chronicling Adolf Hitler's last days, will be directing this film.

It's funny how the Wills and Kate wedding kicked some life back into the subject of royal weddings, relationships and so forth. For a while there, after Diana Spencer passed away in 1997, it seemed like the gossip-hungry people of the world lost heart on the whole subject. But once Diana's son William, second in line to the throne of England after his royal dad, Charles, proposed to his endlessly patient girlfriend, Kate "Waity Kaity" Middleton, the public got their heads right back in the game.

Late this week, the news broke that Wills' younger brother, Harry, is dating a highly educated, well-bred and well-connected (...wait for it) lingerie model! Yes, that's right, since his 2009 break up with BFF/on-again-off-again girlfriend Chelsy Davy, "Prince Hot Ginge" has hooked up with a very lovely young lady named Florence Brudenell-Bruce, who is best known for her knock-out bikini and skimpy underthings pictures.

Well, that's not 100% accurate, she's also known as a "WAG," U.K. slang for the "Wives and Girlfriends" of sports-star guys, as she was the steady girlfriend of British Formula 1 racer Jenson Button for 2+ years before their breakup.

But that's not the whole story behind the "aristocratic and impeccably mannered" Miss Brudenell-Bruce, known as "Flee" to her friends. Despite her slightly scandalous career (questionable only if she's interested in becoming a royal princess by marriage, of course, otherwise, you go, hon.) she is descended from one of Britain's great military heroes, Lieutenant General James Thomas Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan, (you MUST check out this guy's picture... ) who led the famed Charge of the Light Brigade during the Crimean War.

That ought to count in her favor in the eyes of the kind of people who care about that sort of thing. So, too, the young lady's degree in History of Art from the University of Bristol, a qualification she shares with Kate and Wills. On the other hand, sources inside the family note that the clan, though clearly aristocratic, is not without its scandal:

"I can't imagine my family's reputation is going to go down well with the royals", Brudenell-Bruce cousin Lady Catherine 'Bo' Bruce is quoted as saying. "The 26-year-old, who is based in New York, spent time in a £4,000-a-week Arizona rehabilitation clinic with post-traumatic stress disorder following the breakdown of her relationship with her father, the current Earl of Cardigan and 31st Hereditary Warden of the Savernake Forest estate, in Wiltshire."

This is a developing item, and so far all we know is that Harry and Flee have been meeting on the fly at her pad in the bohemian Notting Hill district of London, far from the prying eyes of South Kensington and Sloane Square. There's even talk of the pair slipping off together on a holiday in the Mediterranean this summer. But don't get your hopes up yet for another royal wedding -sources say that Flee's got her eye on an acting career, and is planning to pick up and try her chances in Hollywood in the fall:
