Mexican-American singer Pee Wee has just released a new single this week, and has divulged a new stage name as well: PW. Following in the steps of P. Diddy and JLo? Perhaps.
Or perhaps not. Pee Wee, or, sorry, PW, states that the Pee Wee nickname originated from him being the youngest member of the group when he was starting out his music career. Now that he's gone solo and is more established, he wishes to be known as PW. More sophisticated, no?
The song "Wanna Be Yours" debuts this week. It is described as a totally fresh and modern sound. PW says he is "happier than ever, recording the kind of music [he has] always wanted to sing and [looks] forward to the reaction of [his] fans."
PW signed with the indie label, Top Stop Music, only a few months ago, and fans have already been begging local music stations to play his song. The label believes he is a "Latin youth idol in the making" and is fully committed to working towards his success.
More information on Pee Wee can be found on his website, so go check out his music and let us know what you think. As far as his new single and name change go, it sounds like he's setting himself up to be a Latino pop idol for sure.
"Wanna Be Yours" is produced by Sergio George, in collaboration with French producers So Fly and Nius. The single was originally released on Facebook and Twitter, and has become quite popular since. Regardless of what you call him, PW just wants to be yours, girl!
Will you be picking up the new Pee Wee? And will you be calling him PW, or will he forever be little Pee Wee to you?

A while back, we told you about Pee Wee's heavily anticipated new album. Though it's still months away from completion, the 22-year-old pop star did drop some very interesting news about its release. Pee Wee has now confirmed that he's signed on to Top Stop Music, the same label as Prince Royce. Not only that, he laid down plenty of praise for up-and-coming bachata star.
"Yo pienso que el éxito que tiene Prince Royce se lo ha merecido mucho," Pee Wee told Univision. "Ha ofrecido algo nuevo y diferente para el público, un poco de inglés y español. La verdad respeto todo lo que ha logrado."
Could that mean a possible duet between the two? Or maybe some surprise Pee Wee appearances on Prince and Enrique's upcoming tour? PW didn't offer any concrete details and was actually rather shy when it came to discussing his new music.
"Acabamos de firmar entonces en cuanto tenga más detalles en cuanto a la música y el estilo les dejaremos saber." Pee Wee said. "Pero por ahora estamos manteniendo todo en secreto para caerles con una sorpresa."
Seeing the critical acclaim (and fan reaction) Pee Wee got from his last album, Yo Soy, we're sure his "surprising" new tracks will be top notch. Plus, as we all know, Top Stop Music has a reputation for putting out some great songs.

It seems like a while since we've heard from Pee Wee. The pint-sized kumbia king was getting tons of attention a year ago when his Yo Soy record hit the charts (selling 500,000 copies no less) but then there wasn’t much activity in 2010. Well remember, the year’s not over yet and Pee Wee’s set to make a big return with a new single and a new album!

First up, a brand new song called “Un Beso.” Released just this past week, the track’s fun, light and has much more of a poppy feel than his earlier work with A.B. Quintanilla. There’s also a bit more maturity in his voice, and he even suited up for the cover pic!
Of course, what is a single really? A nice piece of ear candy to tease you about what’s to come! That’s right, “Un Beso” is only the beginning. This December, Pee Wee’s set to release his second full-length album, titled Déjate Querer.
Working producer Jorge Luis Piloto, Pee Wee’s new record should have all of his trademark elements…plus a few surprises too. As he told Terra.com,
"El disco incluye elementos de cumbia, música tropical y balada pero siempre dentro de un marco pop movido y casi siempre bailable, en donde lo principal es abordar los sentimientos más profundos de una manera positiva y jovial".
And lucky for all you holiday shoppers, Déjate Querer drops December 7, exactly two-and-a-half weeks before Christmas. C’mon, we know there’s a least someone in your family who’d love to have some new Pee Wee stuffed in their stocking.

Ozomatli, Christian Castro, and Pee Wee are the first of many confirmed performers protesting Arizona's SB 1070 legislation who will participate in the Voces Unidas por America Concert, taking place July 17.
The concert, organized by the Albuquerque based League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), will help raise awareness about the Arizona law by featuring top Latin recording artists presenting a united front against unjust immigration laws.

LULAC President, Rosa Rosales released this statement:
“The incredible talent will join together in echoing the sentiment and passion of the Latino community against the proposed law. Arizona has given Latinos an opportunity to stand up; an urgency and a sense of purpose to unite through song as Americans voice their concerns with this unique musical event.”
The organization has joined forces with TV and music producer David Chavez and LatinPointe to use music as a unifying theme in rallying support from the Latin entertainment, political and sports world. The passion and the energy of Latino community across the country will be channeled into this unique event.
More performers, public figures, and athletes are expected to step up in the coming weeks, and Blogamole will keep you posted as the talent roster grows.
For ticket information, visit LULAC.org.

PeeWee has publicly confirmed he has no interest in a reunion between himself, A.B. Quintanilla, and Cruz Martinez. We've known for some time that Pee Wee has been focusing on his solo career, but the fact that he hasn't dropped an album as of yet left fans speculating and hoping that he may join forces with his old band mates again.
Pee Wee was recently asked by NXclusiva if he would join forces again with A.B. and Cruz on stage, and had this to say:
“The truth is that I am focused on my career and that would be like taking a step backwards instead of forwards, no?”
We can't argue with that! [LatinGossip]
Mientras tanto, you can catch PeeWee este lunes in a super-especial capítulo de Quiero Mis Quinces, when el cantante makes una quinceañera's biggest dreams come true!! No te lo pierdas, this Monday at 9pm EST!

Looks like we have another novela turned pop star grupo! Eight actors from Camaleones have formed a pop group named, what else, grupo Camaleones. The octet, which does not include Belinda, Alfonso Herrera or Pee Wee are slated to release an album later this month.
We'll have to wait and see whether this group will get close to RBD's success.
What do you think? Will you buy their album? [Latin Gossip]
