Jailed emcee Lil Wayne premiered his new video for "Da Da Da" on Friday (May 28).
The rapper shot the video back in February during Super Bowl weekend in Miami, when he also shot vids for "Knockout" with Nicki Minaj, "Runnin'" with Shannell and "Get a Life."
Cuban Director David Rousseau oversaw all four videos Weezy shot that weekend, a process that was necessary with the Young Money rapper's impending jail sentence.
Rosseau spoke to MTV News at the time:
"This is our deadline. This is a hard deadline. It was basically a 'Mission: Impossible' [scenario]: This is your mission if you choose to accept it. Everybody is onboard, because everybody knows what's at stake. Unlike T.I. and some of these other guys that's disappeared while they were in, the point is to keep Wayne [visible] on TV and everything for whatever time he's in. There was a plan in action. Slim and Baby really could foresee that. He's at the height of his career. You can't let that momentum slip."
Tr3s Comunidad, what do you think of Wayne's strategy to stay relevant? Weigh in on his plan and the video below, or @MTV3!

Toronto emcee Drake premiered his new video "Over" yesterday on Vevo, but back in March the Thank Me Later (due out June 15th) rapper caught up with MTV News on set and disclosed how "Over" establishes him as a solo star.
Last week on the opening night of his Away From Home Tour, Drake had this to say about the first video from his upcoming LP:
"It takes the song to another place. It offers up a whole different look for the song. The song (to a lot of people) is ignorant, it's club. This video is what I was really thinking about. The song is like a bad dream... but it's not a bad dream, it's not a terrible dream. It's a little evil.
The video really reflects that. It's a struggle between the purities of my past life and what this new life has to offer. Even in the video, you see me looking back and forth between the two and deciding. At the end of the video I don't necessarily make a decision, but when you get the album, you'll see what choice I make."
Without further ado...
Tr3s Comunidad, what do you think of Drake's "Over"? Does it take the song to a whole new place? Weigh in below or @MTV3.

Rihanna released her new slow tempo single "Russian Roulette" today to mixed reviews. It definitely won't have fan reciting lines like 2007's "Umbrella." (Ella, ella, eh, eh!)
This is the first single of Rihanna's fourth studio album, Rated R, which Def Jam confirmed will be released on November 23rd. For the LP, RiRi teamed up with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Tricky Stewart, Chase & Status and Ne-Yo, who wrote and produced "Russian Roulette."
The single seems to allude to an abusive relationship, and we can only assume that this album is a form of creative release and may be a brand new sound for the artist; therapy if you will, and similar to Kanye's emotional 808s and Heartbreak.
MTV News caught up with Ne-Yo recently and this is what the writer/producer had to say about Rated R:
The best and safest way I can say this is that Rihanna has some stuff to say and she's going to say it. And she ain't going to make no apologies for it.... I've heard a good majority of the album... world, get ready. That's all I'm going to say : World ,get ready. [MTV News]
So what do you think? Are we ready for an album outlining Rihanna's abusive relationship with Chris Brown? Speak on it below!
Also, if you haven't heard the new track "Russian Roulette" yet, listen to it now on Rihanna's website!

Take notes fellas because Baby Boy is a natural at pimpin' la fama with his lyrical game and humble spirit. The "Ya No Llores / Let me Love You" singer has continued dominating the Billboard charts by occupying the 8th spot for 6 weeks in a row!
The fly newcomer recently spoke about his new found success:
It really depends on how you define fame and how it is used, because at the level of image like television, radio interviews, and all that stuff, it is just work for me. That's what I need to do for the public, not for Baby Boy as an artist.
Perhaps Baby Boy is still considered a rookie in the industry, but his philosophical words are spoken like a true veteran. [MTV Tr3s Radio Noticias]

Baby Boy may enjoy spittin' game at the ladies, but he's far from your average chico on the block. This fella is a pro at glorifying a woman's worth and respecting her sentimientos in his first single, “Ya No Llores / Let me Love You.”
Baby Boy reveals the true logic behind his lyrical pimpin' skills,
"The song is romantic, and it is very on-point with everyday life. It is a message for all the ladies out there to know that they are never obligated to stay in a relationship."
Besides winning over el cariño de las mujeres, Baby Boy has marked his territory as an industry player by peaking into the 19th spot in the Latin Billboard Charts.
Whoever said good caballeros finish last?
