A lot of people were excited to see JLo launch her new 'Dance Again' video with fellow Latin artist Pitbull. Some were less than pleased with her talents, however, calling the new video "skanky" and inappropriate.
Dan Gainor, a representative for the Culture and Media institute, didn't pull any punches when describing the new Lopez video. Gainor stated,
"Jennifer Lopez's skanky new video shows how desperate she is to retain her fame despite her fading relevance."
Wow, tell us how you really feel, Dan. Gainor's main problem with the video was that it premiered on American Idol, a show watched by a lot of children. He said,
"Even the supposedly family-friendly TV shows like American Idol are never safe in the hands of Hollywood. Such sexualized videos aren't appropriate for any children to watch, including Lopez's own twins."
The video shows a glittered up JLo falling upwards to a ceiling orgy, along with other suggestive scenes, like dancer and choreographer Casper Smart groping her famous booty. All she wants to do is dance and love again, folks. What's the big deal? Apparently Gainor thinks this is more than American Idol audiences can handle. Dan does not approve.
JLo's video has received almost 10 million hits on YouTube, but has not made the Billboard singles chart nor iTunes Top 10.
Do you think JLo and Pitbull's 'Dance Again' video is too steamy for prime time television?

2012 is turning out to be quite an incredible year for Reik. Not only did they recently perform at L.A.'s Grammy Museum, they've been riding a wave of hit singles from their recently released Peligro album. The Mexican trio continued that streak this past week, with a jam-packed concert at the Hollywood House of Blues.
"It's been a great 2012 so far," guitarist Julio Ramírez Eguía told us. "We took some big risks with the Peligro album, but they seem to be paying off."
Indeed, Peligro (which hit shelves last July) mixes up the Reik style quite a bit. Utilizing elements of electronica and dance pop, the guys delivered 14 very diverse songs. But they were quick to point out that their trademark ballads are still fully intact, including the newest single "Creo En Ti."
"We recorded 'Creo En Ti' in Spanish, but we also have versions in Italian, English and Portuguese," Julio added. "It's our way of saying thank you to our international fans."
And the fans at the House of Blues definitely went wild once frontman Jesus Alberto Navarro Rosas belted out "Creo's" first words. The lively set included several Peligro songs (like the bouncy title track) as well as classics from their first three albums.
As Jesus explained to us, performing the Reik live shows prove to be very inspirational for the band.
"We're touring this entire year and part of the next one too," he said. "Things are very busy right now and also very exciting! It's been amazing to see the fan response to Peligro. The attitude we have right now is to just keep going and going."
And the farther Reik goes, the more global recognition they get! Billboard recently partnered with the band for a series of shows, which included the HoB stop.
"Playing at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip is incredible," guitarist Gilberto Marín Espinoza told us. "And Billboard has been very supportive. Right now we're just embracing all of this positive energy and having a lot of fun."
Clearly the Hollywood crowd relished in the "fun" too, singing along to the Reik lyrics and cheering the guys on through every song. To find out more about Jesus, Gilberto and Julio's touring schedule (and to get a taste of their new material), be sure to check out the official Reik website!

Bob Dylan's Blood On The Tracks album is going to be made into a feature film.
How does an album become a feature film? Just look at Green Day's American Idiot, turned into a Broadway musical. Brazilian producer Rodrigo Teixeira, of RT Features, are going to turn the Blood On The Tracks songs into a film narrative.
Teixeira said,
"As longtime admirers of one of the greatest albums in the history of music, we feel privileged to be making this film. Our goal is to work with a filmmaker who can create a classic drama with characters and an environment that capture the feelings that the album inspires in all fans."
Blood On The Tracks is Dylan's fifteenth studio album, and contains the songs "Tangled Up In Blue," "If You See Her, Say Hello," "Buckets Of Rain," "Shelter From The Storm," and "Idiot Wind," among others. The album was released in 1975 and went platinum on the Billboard 200 Charts.
While Dylan denies his Blood On The Tracks songs are autobiographical, son and Wallflowers singer Jakob Dylan begs to differ. Jakob claimed that listening to that album was like listening to his "parents talking."
Apparently, Dylan wrote the album after separating from his first wife, Sara Lownds. Bob Dylan claims the songs were actually claimed by Anton Chekhov's short stories. Go see the film and judge for yourself.
Do you think Blood On The Tracks will make a good soundtrack for a film?

Looks like singing might be in the Willis genes. Rumer Willis took the stage, just like her daddy, Bruce Willis. She sang some songs at the birthday party of Jared Eng, founder of Just Jared, just last month.
Rumer, 23, performed four cover songs at the Pink Taco Sunset in Los Angeles. She sang My Brightest Diamond's "High Low Middle," Otis Redding's "Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay," Lianne La Havas' "Age," and, wait for it, "Rumor Has It" by Adele. Rumer nailed it!
The young singer/ actress performed with musical director Nick Rosen and the house band from The Sayers Club. If she ever formally records a cover version of Adele's song, I really hope she calls it "Rumer Has It." It's just begging for it.
Rumer has no original songs yet, but maybe a singing career will be her next step. She was certainly a crowd-pleaser at the event, so I'm sure it would go great for her. After Rumer belted out her lyrics, she let out a big laugh, and a good time was had by all.
Do you think Rumer will pursue a singing career ?

Rihanna recently volunteered to play the role of late superstar Whitney Houston if a biopic of the singer was ever made. If the Talk That Talk singer wants to get her feet wet in the acting field, boy, is this ever the starring role of a lifetime!
Turns out that Rihanna was already being considered for the role, but she came out first, saying it was something she would love to do. Recent reports say Clive Davis was planning to make the biographical film about his close friend Whitney, but Davis has denied these reports.
In a recent interview, Rihanna said,
"That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do because I would want to really pull it off. That's a huge, huge role and whoever does it has to do a good job."
Rihanna isn't the first person being considered to be Whitney Houston biopic star. Other noteworthy contenders are Jennifer Hudson, Vivica Fox, Brandy, and Jordin Sparks. While Rihanna doesn't have the acting experience of these other divas, she believes the role is more about portraying her musical inspiration than about nailing an acting role.
First impressions are always the most vivid in one's memory. Rihanna remembers,
"My first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song- 'I Will Always Love You,' It was really inspiring and it made me develop a passion for music, so really she's partly responsible for me being here in this industry."
Regardless of who is finally chosen to play Whitney in her biopic, acting is still in Rihanna's future. She will appear in her first acting role in the upcoming sci-fi thriller Battleship, alongside some big screen names as Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklin Decker, and Liam Neeson. Watch out for Rihanna's first film debut to hit the theaters in May.
Are you excited to see Rihanna play Whitney Houston, or would somebody else be better for the role?

Justin Bieber was in the studio with British boy band One Direction. Could this mean an upcoming collaboration between the Canadian pop sensation and the fabulous five-some from across the pond?
Although Justin shares a manager with UK boy band The Wanted, it was One Direction who was spotted with The Biebs. We can only speculate this means an upcoming project, especially after Niall Horan tweeted,
"in the studio with our boy @justinbieber last night, its gona sound great!"
However, after seeing what Liam Page tweeted, it sounds more like they were just Justin's guests and were simply watching Bieber record his new album, Believe. Page tweeted,
"Got a first listen to justin biebers new album yesterday wowww big songs!!! Its gunna be a smash... Expect the unexpected :o"
It's easy to see how one could jump to conclusions. Scooter Braun, Bieber's manager, has hinted a Bieber and One Direction collaboration was entirely possible. He was once asked on Twitter if Bieber would work with One Direction and Braun said,
"Very possible. he likes them and thinks they are good dudes. all people of that generation should be there to help EACHOTHER."
I bet this will be huge when it comes out. Justin Bieber and One Direction are two of the biggest acts right now. I wouldn't be surprised if their single is powerful enough to highhandedly break the internet.
One Direction recently turned down a White House invite, but they won't say no to The Biebs.
What artists would you like to see in the studio together?

British boy band One Direction are so busy being famous that they had to turn down Michelle Obama's invitation to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll this year.
Michelle had invited One Direction to the Easter festivities when she saw them at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards last weekend. A representative of the band said they had to decline "due to prior commitments." The boys were nevertheless excited to meet the first lady and her daughters, 13 year old Malia and Sasha, who is 10.
One Direction will be performing on Saturday Night Live this weekend, and Sofia Vergara will be hosting the show. They are one of the biggest boy bands today and have even been referred to as 'the next Beatles'. Paul McCartney said,
"There are so many bands who all get called 'the next Beatles'. Suddenly it puts an awful lot of pressure on them to be the next Beatles. Oasis were 'the next Beatles' once, if you remember. It's a pressure, because suddenly you've got to live up to all the things that we did, and it was a different time. So let's just call them 'the next terrific band'."
No wonder they're so busy. These boys seem to be in very high demand.
Who would you like to see at the White House Easter Egg Roll this year?

Ashton Kutcher wore a black cowboy hat and a bright red embroidered blazer to the Academy Of Country Music Awards when he presented Miranda Lambert with the Female Vocalist Of The Year Award this past Sunday. This spawned some criticism as some of the attendees wondered if he was making a mockery out of the event.
Kutcher also crooned part of George Strait's song, 'I Cross My Heart' when he presented Lambert with her award. Known for being a prankster, Kutcher's antics were a hit with the viewers. However, some of the stars were not amused.
After the awards ceremony, Lambert tweeted,
"Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I'm kinds wondering?"
Singer Justin Moore angrily tweeted,
"Seen Ashton Kutcher at the acms tonight. What a douche! I don't care for people making a mockery of the way country artists dress."
Ashton took to Twitter on Tuesday to address the stars' concerns. He told Lambert,
"I Am One Of The biggest country Music fans you've ever met. Wasn't making fun at all."
Well we're glad that got cleared up. We wouldn't want to think Lambert was being punk'd.
Do you think Ashton was making fun of country music stars, or did he appear to be sincere with his performance?

"Hello?" Is it Marc Anthony you’re looking for? In the case of Lionel Richie, the answer is most definitely yes! The legendary balladeer got his own tribute concert last night with Marc backing him up behind the mic.
"[Lionel's songs] were one of the soundtracks of my life growing up," Anthony recently said.
And boy did he prove it, belting out Richie's classic "Endless Love" duet alongside Sarah Evans. The special will be broadcast next week on CBS and also features appearances by Lady Antebellum, Lionel, and his daughter Nicole.
Interestingly, Richie recently paid tribute to his own musical roots. His latest album, Tuskegee, touches back on his Alabama upbringing and gives his famous songs like "You Are" and "All Night Long" an inspired country twist.
What's your favorite Lionel Richie song? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.
