Saturday birthday parties are about to get interesting...

Reggaeton and merengue are about to collide into one blazing hit. Rakim y Ken Y are adding extra ánimo to your fiestas by remastering a merengue version of their hit single, "Te Regalo Amores." The royal duo recently finished recording the track with legendary Dominican singer, Rubby Pérez.
We recently spoke to los reggaetoneros about the duet:
Ken-Y: Ha sido una gran experiencia compartir con Rubby, a quien admiramos por su trabajo en el género tropical.
Rakim: Si antes la canción invitaba al baile ahora la oferta es mucho más tentadora por el sabor que le añadió la interpretación de Pérez.

Jenni Rivera proves that her powerhouse voz isn't the only "Inolvidable" phenomenon...

The singer's fanáticos also hold unforgettable weight. La Diva de la Banda performed for more than 40,000 admirers at the Rodeo Texcoco in Mexico over the weekend. The soul survivor extended emotional shout-outs to her fans right after singing her heart-pounding hit, "Sobreviví." Without her fans, Jenni exclaimed that she wouldn't have the strength to get over her dramatic separation or that pesky video scandal.
She shouted to the audience:
Les agradezco infinitamente que no me hayan dejado caer, luego de los descalabros que me he dado, sin ustedes no sabría que habría sido de mi carrera, gracias a todos por venir.
You know you have hit las estrellas when you have fans like Los Tigres Del Norte! Felicidades Jenni. [Notimex]

Though it's easy to feel left out on El Día de los Enamorados, don't fret. This year MTV Tr3s has your back! We've put together a list of five tips to celebrate being happily unattached this Valentine's day.
Tip#1: Girls Night Out
Call up your single chicas for a girly night on the town including make overs, manicures and martinis. Why not take this special day to pamper the most important person you're in a relationship with – you! P.S. -- some snazzy nail salons offer fancy drinks too! Once you and your girl squad are all dolled up continue the fun by dancing the night away at a club OR maybe seeing He’s Just Not That Into You, A.K.A the single gal’s bible.
Tip#2: Girls Night In
Don’t feel up to hitting the pavement? No te preocupes. Coordinate a chicas only pajama party instead (that means no texting exes nor drunk dials). Watch tearjerkers, chow down on popcorn and chocolate and pass the chisme around por toda la noche. Suggested topics of discussion? Loves-gone-wrong and why-can't-i-find-a-man woes will go well with your fave pair of fat pants. Some all-time chick flick faves we recommend for the occasion are: Hitch, How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days, The Notebook and The Holiday.

Oh snap! Does Rihanna have problemas with la ley?

The "Rehab" singer may have to put her lyrics in check. According to AFP News, the old school African musician, Manu Dibango has sued Rihanna for allegedly stealing his hooks for her hit single, "Don't Stop The Music." Apparently, Riri isn't the only pop star that has the 75-year-old sax player muy angry. Mr. Dibango also reached a legal agreement with Michael Jackson for 'borrowing' the lyrics from his 1970's song, "Soul Makossa" for The King of Pop's catchy track, "Wanna be Startin' Something."
The African singer is requesting $500,000 euros from Ms. Riri. Question is, why did it take him so long to notice? This canción has been out for a minute. Do you think Rihanna owes him creative royalities? [AFP]

Wondering what Penelope Cruz has in the works next?

The Spanish actress has received endless critical praise for her role in "Vicky Christina Barcelona," including the most recent Goya Award for "Best Supporting Actress." Penelope may play psychotic lover, Maria Elena just like Woody Allen envisioned, but the bella brunette is switching scripts and working on a new musical, "Nine" directed by Rob Marshall. The film weaves together a play within a play, and follows the complex romantic endeavors of director Guido Contini. Cruz is set to play the mistress Carla in the film.
MTV News caught-up with Penelope to find out more about her new role:
We all sing and dance. Its very scary because with singing there is no where to hide. People see your good and bad. You feel vulnerable, but its been a beautiful experience. We have one more month to go.
Sounds like a must-see movie already. Let's hope she wins the Oscar's on February 22nd! Keeping our fingers crossed...[MTV News]

Pendiente mi gente! Calle 13 is dropping their new video, "Electro Movimiento" mañana!

The Boricua duo are lacing la pantalla with an electric vibe and sinful storyline. Residente plays an 80-year-old viejito with the libido of a quinceañero while Visitante glows in the dark con las mujeres. The new video is a paradise for dirty pensamientos and electro ritmos. MTV Tr3s recently caught-up with the hit-makers about their latest album, "Los de Atrás Vienen Conmigo":
Este disco salió con el poco tiempo. Yo creo que la presión que nos pusimos porque como que nos dijimos ‘este disco va a salir ahora porque tiene que salir ahora’ pues, ayudó a que se hiciera el disco. Así que es un disco espontáneo, un bueno disco, está la presión ahí, que a veces la presión es buena porque te ayuda hacer las cosas.
We are spreadin' el movimiento and sharing a couple of sneak peeks, including Residente in character. He plays a pervert viejito pretty well no?
He isn't the only one. Visitante is definitely blasting into el mundo electro, including back-up chicas.

Despite David Archuleta reaching voting age after the Presidential election in November...

The "Crush" singer was speaking-up for los jovenes with a positive voz at the Latino Inaugural Gala in Washington, D.C. over the weekend. The humble 18-year-old felt honored to be a part of the celebration even though he didn't form part of the performance line-up, which included Marc Anthony, Lila Downs, Paulina Rubio, and Alejandro Sanz. Imagine if he hit the stage? He would have definitely given Marc's romantic ballads some (much-needed) competition.
MTV Tr3s and Terra spoke to the American Idol graduate about his upcoming tour and more. Check it right below and shout-out your amor for David Archuleta!

The life of iconic and super controversial revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara finally comes to life...
Thanks to the perseverance of Oscar winning actor Benicio Del Toro. The Boricua co-produced and starred in Che, the two-part biopic that has been a labor of love for the last seven years. The film chronicles his rise up to revolutionary icon from Argentina to fighting along side Fidel Castro. The script manages to unveil the mythical depictions of these historical figures by using a humanistic lense that doesn't fade-out until the very end.
MTV News caught-up with Benicio to talk about why Che (both film and the person) is still so relevant today. Check out what he and actor Rodrigo Santoro (Raul Castro) had to say in the video below. Not into history? Rodrigo and Benecio will change your mind. Watch the clip!
