Minka Kelly, of Friday Night Lights and Charlie's Angels fame, was chosen to play Jackie Kennedy in Lee Daniels' upcoming film, The Butler. The film will feature Forest Whitaker playing the role of Eugene Allen, the White House butler who served eight presidents.

Daniels was in the Cannes Film Festival this week celebrating the premiere of his latest film, The Paperboy, when he shared the news on his upcoming project. He said,

"I connected with it because it is ultimately a father son story with a civil rights backdrop. In my lifetime there were separate water fountains, swimming pools and toilets for blacks. People forget that. This is such an exciting journey for me."

Daniels will begin scouting a filming location next week, and shooting for the film starts on July 16. The Butler will feature an all-star cast, including Oprah Winfrey, who will play Allen's wife. Matthew McConaughey will play John F. Kennedy, and Alan Rickman will be Ronald Reagan, with Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan. Other actors featured in the film include Cuba Gooding Jr, Lenny Kravitz, and Terrence Howard.

What is it about Wilmer Valderrama that makes celebrity women swoon? After high-profile romances with Lindsay Lohan and Demi Lovato, it seems he's snagged himself another starlet, namely Charlie’s Angels star Minka Kelly!

The lovey dovey duo was spotted in Australia this week, cozying up for paparazzi photographers. Many were actually surprised by the romance, especially considering that Minka was linked to Derek Jeter as recently as January.

Kelly and Jeter have had a famous fling for the past three years, but apparently she felt it was time to move on. Similarly, many suspected that Valderrama was still hooking up with Lovato, which clearly isn't the case anymore.

Regardless of it all, Wilmer and Minka seem to be very infatuated with each other. Who knows? Maybe if it continues, she could join him for a few of those sexy Eduardo Fresco videos.

Even though the fall TV season is roughly eight months away, casting agents are frantically lining up the small screen’s next batch of hot young stars. One series that seems to be generating quite a bit of buzz is the reboot of the 1970s classic Charlie’s Angels. So far, two of the lady leads have been confirmed and Dominican actress Dania Ramirez may be in the running to fill the third slot.

Known for her roles in Entourage, The Sopranos and Heroes (for which she was nominated for an ALMA Award), Dania’s been known to be both tender and tough onscreen, traits that should come in handy when she signs on to Charlie’s team.

According to TV Squad, a makeup artist on the Angels set leaked Dania casting rumors late last week. Since then, two of the leads have been confirmed — General Hospital star Annie Ilonzeh and Friday Night Lights headliner Minka Kelly. That still leaves an opening for Angel No. 3.

Though Transformers actress Rachael Taylor has also been rumored to be the third Angel, we’re holding out hope for Dania. We think she'll make a spectacular Marisa Valdez.

With two years left on her contract, Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf is ready to bid the show adieu. Leighton Meester dished to E! News that she's out as soon as her contract expires.

The singer and actress, who appears in the upcoming Gwyneth Paltrow flick Country Strong, said that while she "obviously enjoys working on the show and living in New York," GG's producers are supportive of her decision and have encouraged her and her fellow co-stars to pursue outside projects.

"It allows you to be ready for when the show's over," Leighton told E!. "I don't know [if the series will end when I leave,] but I think there's that old saying about wanting to go out on top."

With a burgeoning music career and a recent move to the silver screen, will this be the end of Meester's TV career?

"Um, I never say never," she said. "It would have to be the right show just like it would have to be the right movie."
