Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds will be starring in the year's most explosive blockbuster, Safe House, considered "an adrenaline rush from start to finish."
Washington and Reynolds play a CIA agent and rookie agent targeted for an assassination, two unlikely allies that must team up to save themselves in a game of cat and mouse. Academy Award-winning Denzel and Ryan join Academy Award nominees Vera Farmiga and Sam Shepard, along with Brendan Gleeson, Ruben Blades, Nora Arnezeder, and Robert Patrick, in an impressive adrenaline-pumping tale of rogue operatives fighting for their lives.
Tobin Frost, played by Denzel, is one of CIA's most dangerous traitors. He resurfaces in South Africa after hiding out and escaping capture for almost a decade. The safe house where he is staying is attacked by mercenaries during his interrogation. Matt Weston, played by Reynolds, is forced to take the CIA traitor on the run.
When these two unlikely allies are forced to team up, ideologies and loyalties will be challenged. They must both work together to stay alive long enough to figure out who it is that wants them dead. Safe House is filled with intrigue and suspense. This action thriller will take you into an underworld where you don't know who to trust and where no place is ever truly safe.
Safe House will be available June 5 on a Blu-ray combo-pack with UltraViolet, starring Milla Jovovich, as well as a DVD copy and a digital copy of the film so viewers can enjoy it in whichever format they choose. The Red Carpet at the Oscars is a great time to ooh and ahh at all the magnificent gowns and outfits that adorn the stars. It is also a great time to poke fun at the tackiness and gaudiness of those who overdo it.
Here, I bring you the good, the bad, and the ugly of the Academy Awards Red Carpet.
Angelina Jolie's strapless Versace gown of black velvet, slit to show off her leg, was the talk of Tinseltown. She stroke a pose and showed her right leg not once, but several times, inspiring a Twitter account: @angiesrightleg, which already has more than 11,000 followers.
Jessica Chastain wore an exquisite long black gown with gold embroidery, designed by Alexander McQueen. The dress went beautifully with her long strawberry blonde hair.
Red-tressed Berenice Bejo wore a lacy minty white gown by Ellie Saab. She looked great but the pale dress washed her out a bit. I'm willing to bet she would have looked a lot more stunning had she wore a jewel toned dress, perhaps an emerald green or a sapphire blue.
Busy Phillips looked gorgeous in her grey Dolce & Gabbana dress. She accented it beautifully with hot fuchsia peep-toe shoes and some dangling blue stones for earrings.
Rooney Mara also invoked that classic Hollywood style with a classic white gown, complete with plunging neckline and dragging tail. Her makeup was simple, with a bright red lip.
While Anna Faris looked elegant at first glance in her black sequined outfit by Diane von Furstenberg, I thought it looked kind of sloppy and overwhelming. The bottom could have been shorter and more structured. She looked like she was getting lost in it. Too much outfit for such a petite gal.
Missi Pyle is a cute girl, but that powder blue dress makes her look like she was going to prom. It might have been a Valentino, but the cut just looks to grandma-ish on her. I would have gone for a more youthful and fun dress.
Milla Jovovich, looking stunning as always, also wore Ellie Saab. Milla sported an off-the-shoulder dress with delicate white embroidery that hung all the way to the ground. She looked very classy and Old Hollywood chic with her side swept bob and daring red lipstick.
Emma Stone is a gorgeous girl. She can pull off just about any look. I'm just not sure about this bright pink dress with a bow wrapped around her neck. This would be great on one of the Golden Girls, but I think this is a bit old for Emma.
Glen Close is a stunning woman. The dress she wore, by Zac Posen, however, was not so stunning. It looked too harsh on her. Even the color, while it would have complement her skin beautifully as any other outfit, was a bit too drab for the Oscars. Maybe if the lost the jacket, the dress would have looked a lot better on its own.
What can I say about Michelle Williams? She is cute, and the peach dress she wore does complement her, but it also makes her look like a flapper. She should have gone for something more sophisticated and glamorous. I also can't get over her little pink clutch. It makes her look like she's playing dress-up.
Rose Byrne looked fabulous in her black sequined Vivienne Westwood gown. Vavavoom! She had the perfect hanging earrings and her hair was flawless.
Ellie Kemper was another cutie petutie that looked gorgeous and elegant in her sequined gold and copper Armani gown. What a far cry from what she wears on The Office!
Natalie Portman always looks elegant and chic, and last night was no exception. She wore a vintage strapless Christian Dior dress. Long and red with tiny black polka dots.
Judy Greer looked like she was going to join the cast of Star Trek with the dress she picked. It was long and black, but had two silver stripes running vertically on either side. Not the most flattering choice for the Oscars.
Penelope Cruz always looks stunning, and last night she looked like a Disney princess. Her powder blue dress was long and flowing, and off-the-shoulder. Give her a tiara and he could be Cinderella.
Now, Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to daring cuts and plunging necklines, but there was a lot of controversy over whether she had a wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet. When she leaned over to chat, spectators swore they saw a nip slip. Of course, tweets spread like wildfire.
"Did we all see what we thought we saw?"
"I'm worried about a gust of wind hitting the top part of JLo's dress causing a wardrobe malfunction."
JLo's stylist, Mariel Haenn, responded to the allegations of an ill-fitting dress.
"The dress fit perfectly to every inch. While the dress did give the illusion of sheer-ness, joke's on everyone who wishes they saw something!"
So there you have it, peepers. Haenn insists the dress included built-in cups to specifically prevent any slips. Better luck next time!

I say that if you are going to make a version of a great literary classic, if from the beginning you know is not going to be especially faithful to the original, then go outrageous. Paul W.S. Anderson's The Three Musketeers is the loudest, funniest and most outrageous version ever filmed of a classic book.
Anderson, creator of the Resident Evil and the Alien vs. Predator franchises, took the first great adventure involving D'Artagnan and the famous trio of musketeers and turned it into a steampunk extravaganza that includes fire throwers, Leonardo Da Vinci's Secret Vault, Flying Battleships and Milla Jovovich (his favorite gal…) jumping from the roof of the Louvre wearing only a corset.
It all begins in Venice, one year before the main events, when Athos, Porthos, Aramis and Milady Winter break into the palace of the Dux during Carnival Night and steal Da Vinci's secret plans to a powerful war machine. They succeed, and the love of Athos and Milady seems unshakable, but the sinister Duke of Buckingham makes Milady an irresistible offer and she drugs the Musketeers and steals the plans, giving Britain a huge advantage in case of war.
One year later, eighteen years old D’Artagnan departs for Paris with the blessings of his father, an ex-musketeer himself who gives him only three things: an old horse, some money for the road and his sword. D'Artagnan goes untroubled for a while at the gates of Paris he gets into a fight with a stranger who shoots him in the arm. The stranger is going to kill him but a carriage arrives and a beautiful woman orders the man to let him live. That way D’Artagnan is acquainted with Milady and Captain Rochefort, Chief of Guards for Cardinal Richelieu; Prime Minister and the most powerful man in France.
Despite some of the worst accents I've ever heard in a (sort of) historical movie, The Three Musketeers has all the ingredients to make it a good adventure movie" humor, good battle scenes, a little romance and a duel fought on the roof of the Cathedral of Notre Dame.
Among the best things in the movie: Mathew McFayden, Luke Evans and Ray Stevens as the three Musketeers are boisterous, loud and fun; Logan Lerman is great as the cocky teenager that D'Artagnan ultimately is, (he’s got the look..) and the hero's love interest, Constance, played by the very lovely Gabriella Wilde is perfect for him. Orlando Bloom is not bad either as the Duke of Buckingham despite having some of the worse lines of the film.
But the best thing in the movie is Christoph Waltz as Cardinal Richelieu. Waltz is making a career out of these affable bad guys he's being playing since Inglorious Basterds and his Richelieu is in that line. Overall, The Three Musketeers is good action film with some of the best visual effects of the year and in this case, the 3D works great.

Sixteen actors dressed as zombies were injured yesterday when they fell from a platform during filming of a new movie in the Resident Evil series in Canada. Rescue workers at first were startled at the seemingly catastrophic scene.
Canadian officials said none of the injuries were considered life-threatening, but that was hard to determine when rescue workers first arrived. The victims' gory zombie costumes made it difficult for paramedics to assess the severity of the actors' injuries, said Peter Macintyre, Toronto emergency medical services spokesman.
The 50 actors had been filming a scene on a 4 foot high-wheeled platform. The platform moved as they were going to another platform, leaving a gap into which the zombies fell. The incident is classified as an industrial accident. Ontario's Ministry of Labor is investigating.
Lead actress Milla Jovovich was not on set at the time of the accident, according to her representative Christine Tripicchio.
Paramedics responded to the call from Cinespace Film Studios around 8:30 a.m., and Toronto Police Sgt. Andrew Gibson said that they had to figure out which zombies were injured and which were just in character. "It did kind of catch us off guard when we walked in," he said.
Twelve victims were taken to a hospital. One actor suffered a cracked rib, one a broken leg and one a possible back injury, the film's producers said. Thank God none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
Most of the injured have already returned to the set, they said.
Resident Evil: Retribution is the fifth installment of a franchise based on the popular video game series and will be distributed by Screen Gems and Sony Pictures.

Who says girls don't read comic books? Believe it or not, one of the most popular underground titles on the market involves a trio of sexy heroines. Entitled Danger Girl, it first hit the scene back in the late 1990's and now is on its way to becoming a major Hollywood movie. Best of all, Milla Jovovich, Kate Beckinsale, and Sofía Vergara are attached to star!
First published in 1998, Danger Girl follows the lives of three gorgeous agents sent on secret missions throughout the world. Mixing elements of James Bond and Charlie’s Angels, it's definitely heavy on the Grrrl Power but has artwork and storylines guys can appreciate too.
In fact Danger Girl has become so popular, the three main leads (Abbey Chase, Sydney Savage, and Natalia Kassle) got their own action figures. There was even a Playstation game based on their adventures.
The movie still is in the very early stages of development. It is unclear which Girl Sofia will play, but we're putting our money on Abbey Chase (the linguistics master). Milla and Kate would make awesome costars, so we're seriously hoping this project gets off the ground.
Do you think Sofía Vergara would make a good secret agent? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.

Have you heard the term "popcorn flick" before? What it basically means is, you sit in front of the TV, grab a bucket of your favorite kernels, and watch two hours of escapist entertainment. Forgot convoluted plot twists, political messages, or complicated storylines, these are the pelis full of big explosions, cool effects, and hot actors. And guess what? This week's P and P film encapsulates that perfectly!
Ultraviolet is the kind of movie that was made for a phat plasma screen and extra loud speakers. Set in a futuristic world, it's got elements of The Matrix, Total Recall, and even Blade thrown in for good measure. And best of all, it stars Milla Jovovich, who we all know can kick some major onscreen ass!
Though she started as a fashion model, Jovovich has actually built up quite the action hero film career. She's already starred in four Resident Evil movies (with a fifth on the way) and had a great turn in the cult classic, The Fifth Element. For Ultraviolet, she's firing on all cylinders, tearing apart bad guys one by one.
Released back in 2006, Ultraviolet has got a lot of interesting components mixed into its plot. There are vampire-like characters (called "hemophages"), evil militant groups, and one woman with a long blade who's ready to lead the resistance. Milla's Violet character is actually one of the infected "hemophages," who's now fighting against her own extinction.
The evil Vice-Cardinal Daxus wants Violet and her people destroyed and may be able to do it, thanks to a mysterious boy named "Six." Now, we could go all into "Six's" real mission and the symbolism about extermination but, like we said, this is a popcorn flick.
It almost seems like the filmmakers agree, choosing not to take the plot points too seriously. There are sly moments when Ultraviolet even makes fun of itself, but one thing's for sure: iIt delivers the action-packed goods! So all you sci-fi fans, have fun with the apocalyptic plot. And all you sexy Jovovich fans, well just wait until you see the tight outfits her Violet character slides into. Either way, it's win win!
Catch Ultraviolet this Saturday at 11pm on Tr3s!
