As part of the September 21 "World Peace Day," Juanes and Miguel Bosé visited the United Nations in Geneva in order to promote their organization "Peace Without Borders," as well as their video, "La Paz Es Un Derecho Humano."

This is the first time the video goes global, with support from celebrities and sports personalities, including Juanes, Miguel Bosé, Ricky Martin, Eva Longoria, and Paulina Rubio, just to name a few. The international exposure is meant to signify the support of various celebrities who believe peace ought to be a basic human right for all individuals on this planet.

The video airs in three different languages: Spanish, English, and French and it can be found on the "Paz Sin Fronteras" website.

Miguel Bosé mentioned the importance of having some standard international regulation when it comes to issues of peace being human rights issues. Communities of the world have a social responsibility to appeal to international organizations and their legislative bodies to reclaim their individual freedoms and govern over every citizen's right to basic fundamental human rights.

Do you thing this grass roots approach will work?

The latest in a long list of Latino events in support for Haiti, Juan Luis Guerra's "Un Canto De Esparanza Por Haiti" concierto on April 18 was an amazing success! According to tweets by cantante Colombiano Juanes, who collaborated con el Dominicano for the event, the charity event raised over $2.5 million dollars for a brand new children's hospital.

Juan Luis Gerra and friends

In addition to Juanes, fellow artistas Latinos Enrique Iglesias, Alejandro Sanz, Miguel Bose, Luis Fonsi, and Milly Quezada joined Juan Luis Guerra for a night of inspirational music.

During the show, each of the guests performed three songs.  The venue quickly became a huge party with merengue, bachata, pop and rock beats uplifting the crowd. Juan Luis Guerra opened up the show with his hit songs,  "La Travesía," "A Pedir Su Mano" and "Las Avispas," and closed out the all-star spectacle with a few more tracks: "Como Yo," "Bachata en Fukuoka" and "El Farolito."

The concert took place at Santo Domingo's Estadio Olimpico where Guerra, one of the country's most famous artists, wanted to raise awareness for Haiti's continuing needs.

Thankfully, support came in droves: according to El Heraldo, the 50,000 capacity venue was 90% filled!

Juanes tweeted:

"Felicidades a Juan Luis Guerra y todalagente en Santo Domingo que fue al concierto!! Se recaudaron 2.500.000US para el nuevo hospital infatil de Haiti!"

Haiti is still recovering from the massive earthquake that happened earlier this year.

With his historical performance alongside other major artists this past Sunday in Cuba, Juanes (our favorite Colombian goodwill guru) caught the world's attention through his Paz Sin Fronteras concert that brought together 1.2 million Cubans on their home turf. There hasn't been a gathering this huge at Revolution Square desde la visita del Papa en 1998!

Paz performers included Miguel Bosé, Olga Tañón, and a selection of Cuban artists including Yerba Buena and Orishas, to name a few.  Even los Cubanos en Miami got to enjoy a live broadcast of the show.

Clearly, Juanes knows how to use el poder de la música to unite people por una causa.  Following the success of his Paz Sin Fronteras concierto, Juanes has been invited by the U.S. to be a featured performer at The Clinton Global Citizens Awards Ceremony in New York today, along with another talented do-gooder, Alicia Keys. Award honorees, including music producer and humanitarian Quincy Jones, have taken initiative to make positive changes por todo el mundo, so we know Juanes will fit right in.  Maybe he can convince Miss Keys to join his next Paz Sin Fronteras line-up?  Juanes' manager recently revealed that the next Paz Sin Fronteras concert will take place on the border between Mexico and the U.S. in 2010.   Not as controversial as Sunday's concert in Cuba or last year's performance in Colombia/Venezuela, but immigration will of course be at the forefront of the conversation!

Go Juanes!

And another one...

Juanes was able to recharge for the holidays, but the roquero is back into éxito mode with a concert in Manizales, Colombia tomorrow. The "Odio Por Amor" singer is teaming-up with Latin Grammy-winner, Miguel Bosé for an explosive concierto worth buying an airplane ticket for. Wait, scratch that. The performance is already sold-out!

We recently caught-up with Juanes to find out what career path he would have chosen outside of la música:

No sé.

Por favor, he was born to be a musical prodigy! We are glad he didn't settle for anything less. [MTV Tr3s Radio Noticias]

What better way to say LIBERTAD than with some live music? Colombianos Juanes and Ingrid Betancourt, and Spaniard Miguel Bose are throwing a concert to say that very thing. On July 20th in Paris the musicians will be teaming up to hold “Concierto Por La Libertad."  The artists will perform and demand that remaining Colombian hostages be released, and FARC revolutionaries be dissolved.

The concert was announced yesterday by Betancourt and the mayor of Paris. It will coincide with hundreds of peace marches and shows throughout Colombia to help achieve la paz en el país.

Bueno, it’s a good thing Ingrid is using her Colombian celebrity connections for a good cause, no?
