It looks like there are a lot of sequels in store for Michelle Rodriguez in the coming months. Not only is she set to appear in Resident Evil 5 later this year, she also may be on board for the next Fast & Furious movie. At least, that's what she's telling FEARnet.com.

"Fast and Furious is pretty much what I've got my sights set on for the next year," she told an interviewer. "And if [Resident Evil 5] does well, maybe I'll pop back in for another one."

Clearly Rodriguez' continued film appearances prove she can cheat death many times over. Her Resident character, Rain Ocampo, famously turned into a zombie in the first film and in Fast & Furious, she was taken out in a horrific car crash.

But hey, this is Hollywood right? If a movie franchise is successful enough, they can bring anyone back. And Michelle, openly honest as ever, offered up her reasoning behind that.

"Right now Hollywood is a giant factory of remakes because everyone is pussying out and they don't want to try anything new," she went on to say. "The money situation in the States isn't so keen right now. Our dollar is shitty, so I can understand why the studios are doing the guaranteed hit-off movies. I'm banking on that and I'm proud to be part of franchises that want me back."

Ok, maybe we got ahead of ourselves with the title of this post. "Pre-production" is more like it. But regardless, Vin Diesel has now officially confirmed that the Fast & Furious franchise is getting two more sequels.

Diesel (who's also a Fast producer) thrilled fans with his announcement this week, particularly because he confirmed the participation of the last movie's stellar cast.

"We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relationships, and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages," Vin explained. "The studio said, 'You can't fit all that story in one damn movie!"

Obviously that's great news for Tr3s fans. Several of our favorite peeps have been a part of the franchise and if they're really "all coming back," you can expect appearances from Don Omar, Tego Calderón, Michelle Rodriguez, and Eva Mendes!

We're hoping we can expect the first of the two movies by summer 2013.

No, Michelle Rodriguez isn't singing the praises of Orville Redenbacher. The Battle: Los Angeles star recently spoke out about that "other" type of Korn, namely the hard rock band from the 90's. Set to release a brand new album, the group is primed for a comeback and has a very famous fan eager to back them up.

Korn's 10th album, The Path of Totality, comes out December 6. But if you were to ask Michelle, the headbangers' greatest accomplishment arrived back in 1994. The self-titled Korn debut wound up selling millions of units and influenced a generation of listeners.

"Korn was so important to me as a kid," Rodriguez explained in an interview with Artist Direct. "They covered this alienation, this understanding that I am true to myself and I know who I am, but this world is f**ked up and doesn't get it! It was my connection to that hip hop world and that poetry that would come out of rap music. Korn merged both of those for me."

The group's newest effort has been getting great early reviews and could easily crack the Billboard Top 10. And we imagine with its bombastic sounds and gritty undertones, it'll make great on-set music for Michelle as she wraps up the new Resident Evil movie.

Throughout her career, there have always been rumors that Michelle Rodriguez "swings both ways." Not that there's anything wrong with that. But it's been a constant question on gossip sites' minds, especially since Michelle is so vague about her love life. And this past week paparazzos added fuel to the fire, by publishing shots of the Machete star locking lips with an unnamed lady friend.

It all went down in Porto Cervo Italy, where Rodriguez was seen frolicking on the sand in a tight black bikini. Alongside her were a gaggle of girls, who seemed to really be enjoying the 32-year-old star's company.

In fact, one of the ladies enjoyed Michelle's company so much, she planted a passionate kiss on her lips! Radar Online published the revealing shots and, judging by Rodriguez' expression, she seemed to be enjoying the affectionate gesture.

Now keep in mind that Michelle has been linked to several male costars in the past. But that doesn't mean she couldn't potentially hook up with some female ones too. And seeing how she may soon be shooting Fast Six with Eva Mendes…Well, just use your imagination.

Before you read this post, we must warn you: there are some major spoilers ahead. If you didn’t catch that last Easter Egg at the end of Fast Five, we recommend turning your eyes away now.

But if you did, we’ve got some very good news. The film’s director, Justin Lin, has confirmed a sixth movie, which means the possible return of Eva Mendes and Michelle Rodriguez!

"After this big weekend, we're going forward," Lin recently said. "It's pretty much 100%. It's going to happen."

The film’s distributor, Universal Pictures, seems to be on board as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has already signed Fast Five’s writer Chris Morgan to an exclusive two-year deal, which would include a script for Fast Six.

If you think about it, the Fast Five team probably had this planned all along. Eva Mendes hasn’t appeared in the franchise since 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious. But that final scene of her character, Agent Monica Fuentes, trading jabs with The Rock makes us think we could have a sexy new team on our hands.

The other bombshell in those last moments from Five was the notion that Michelle Rodriguez’ character was actually still alive! Audiences thought Letty Ortiz met her unfortunate end in part four of the series, but anything is possible in Hollywood. And as Lin put it, the franchise is just getting revved up.

"At five, we're just hitting our stride. We're growing. People want to continue this journey."

Don’t count on seeing Michelle Rodriguez in any cutesy romantic comedies in the near future. The actress recently revealed that she’s just not cut out to play lightweight roles. And why should she? For the past 11 years, the 32-year-old has built a solid action resumé with such films as Machete and the new Battle: Los Angeles.

"I look for a whiny aspect in a woman, and as soon as I see that, I'm like, 'not interested,'" Michelle told NBC’s Niteside. "I'm not a true thespian, I don't seek the thrill of exploration of human emotion — I'm more about projecting what I love about women and the empowerment of them as much as possible."

It was that attitude that first got Michelle noticed by movie audiences. In her 2000 film debut Girlfight, she played a hardnosed lady boxer, who “empowered” herself both in and out of the ring. From there, Rodriguez went on to star in action classics like The Fast & The Furious and S.W.A.T.

Her newest film, Battle: Los Angeles, seems to follow the same trajectory, mixing machine-gun fire with mysterious space invaders. Far different from Michelle’s peaceful Avatar co-stars, Battle’s creatures are angry and attacking southern California head-on. Of course, they didn’t count on Rodriguez’ character Elena, who is fully armed and ready for action.

“She's full-on. She'll rage,” Michelle said, describing Elena. “When it comes time to battle, you'll see her in the forefront. The movie, I'd say, is like 'Blackhawk Down' meets 'District 9'…it's that gamelike, fun, popcorn, edge-of-your-seat stuff that we all kind of love to dive into at movie theaters because it gets us away from the real world."

You can see Michelle Battle all kinds of intergalactic creatures when the movie hits theaters this Friday.

The premiere for Robert Rodriguez's "Machete" was held Wednesday (August 25) night at downtown Los Angeles' Orpheum Theatre.  Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Danny Trejo and more were all on hand to help celebrate, arriving in lowriders no less, but noticeable missing from the flick's cast was Lindsay Lohan, who had been released from rehab a day earlier.

MTV News caught up with a few of La Lohan's co-stars, who shared their well wishes, and praised her habit-wearing, gun-toting performance in the 'Grindhouse' style film.

Jessica Alba was quick to note that her co-star was "so good in this movie. I can't wait for people to see [her in] it."

Director Robert Rodriguez shared a similar statement:

"She's awesome in the movie. That's what they'll see: the actress behind all that paparazzi nonsense that follows her and won't leave her alone. They'll get to see her and say, 'Oh, that's why we follow her around.'"

Cheech Marin offered his support:

"I wish her all the best. I mean, she's a talented young actress. Hopefully, she won't let her personal life overwhelm her professional life ... at some point, you gotta be responsible."

That sentiment was mirrored by Danny Trejo, who added:

"Get home, girl! You're gonna be all right. She's gonna be fine. She knows what to do."

Michelle Rodriguez sent Lindsay a less personal, yet touching message:

"I just think everybody should have in mind that when you wish the best for people around you, it only makes your country, your society, your culture better.

So I think that we should all just respect the evolutionary paths of people and as much as we possibly can wish for the better, for light."

We didn't peg Michelle for the philosophical type, but we def dig it!

Machete opens nationwide Labor Day weekend!

La noche más popular del NY International Latino Film Festival is arguably Dominican night…
and this year it did not disappoint! The press was in a frenzy awaiting the big stars, Michelle
Rodriguez
and Celinés Toribio of the movie "Trópico de Sangre."

Some took celebrating la noche Dominicana a bit too seriously, constructing a makeshift microphone out of a platano and taping a piece of yucca on top, declaring that’s the instrument they’d use for their interviews. But all jokes were cast aside and focus was drawn back to the stars as soon as they graced the green carpet.

Tropic de Sangre
"Trópico de Sangre" premiere at NYILFF on July 29, 2010

Director Juan Delancer made his way down first, assuring us that his main goal with "Trópico
de Sangre" was to tell the truth about Trujillo’s dictatorship in the Dominican Republic. As it’s
very important for him to promote tolerance and equality for women through his work, he feels
fortunate to have gotten two great Dominican talents in Michelle and Celinés to represent this film.

The movie tells a truer version of the story of the famous Mirabal sisters who stood up against
the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo in the Dominican Republic, three of whom paid for it with their
lives. Yes, there was that 2001 adaptation of the story called "In The Time of the Butterflies"
starring Salma Hayek and Marc Anthony, but that was a fictionalized account.

"Trópico de Sangre," sin embargo, nos cuenta la historia con la ayuda de la única hermana Mirabal
sobreviviente, Bélgica Adela “Dedé” Mirabal-Reyes.

The 31-year-old Dominican/Puerto Rican beauty has proven that actresses don't have to limit themselves to "damsel in distress" roles; her range has led to beating up boys in "Girl Fight," high speed action in "The Fast and the Furious," taking out zombies in "Resident Evil," exploring new worlds in "Avatar," and embodying a historic freedom fighter in "Trópico de Sangre."

Michelle Rodriguez

We can't wait to see Michelle take charge in Robert Rodriguez's "Machete" this summer, but first we had to give her major props for her role as "Trudy Chacon" in the 2009 blockbuster, "Avatar."

In the groundbreaking film, Rodriguez's character "Trudy" is a SecOps pilot who flies science teams
to Pandora. She eventually sides with rogue soldier Jake Sully to protect the Na'vi', giving her life to the cause and taking out a swath of their enemies in a blaze of glory!
