It’s been roughly a month since Luis Fonsi welcomed his daughter Mikaela into the world. And in that time, the Puerto Rican pop star has found the experience to be both inspiring…and tiring.
Fonsi recently spoke to El Nuevo Dia about his new daddy role and all of the sleepless nights that go along with it. He explained how he and girlfriend Agueda Lopez are often up at 3am, changing diapers and filling bottles.
But, Luis also described it as the most rewarding time of his life.
"This is a beautiful stage of my life," he said. "Something completely new for me that has changed my perspective of love. It's nice to sleep at night and know you have a gift from God. And that you have the responsibility to love, nurture, and care for this little person who depends on you 100 percent."
Fonsi also confessed that Mikaela has inspired him to get behind the piano again, hinting that he may have some lullabies popping up on his next album.

Its looks like Christmas has come early for Luis Fonsi. Yesterday, the Puerto Rican pop star became the proud parent of a little girl. And according to reports, both baby Mikaela and mama Agueda Lopez are doing just fine.
Fonsi first announced the news of Agueda's pregnancy back in July and since then, it's clear he's been enamored with the concept of fatherhood. Luis regularly Tweeted updates on the baby bump and made sure his followers were well aware of Mikaela's arrival.
"I want to officially the arrival of my princess Mikaela to the world!!!" he posted.
Fans hoping for a baby Twitpic may have to wait a little bit longer though. So far, Fonsi's kept images of Mikaela completely under wraps. But we're sure it's only a matter of time before she makes her paparazzi debut.
Congratulations to the new padres!

I guess you could say Luis Fonsi was definitely "red hot" during his concert in Argentina last Tuesday. He burned himself with the pyrotechnics onstage.
Fonsi suffered several burns on his arm when he got a little too close to the show's visual effects at his concert in Chubut during his "Tierra Firme" tour.
Fear not, loyal fans. The singer assured us he is fine, tweeting
"Gracias por preocuparse y por sus buenos deseos. Me quemé el brazo con la pirotecnia del concierto de anoche pero estoy super bien. Los quiero!"
Fonsi is now back on the road and ready for his next show in the city of Trelew. We are happy he's fine, but I'm sure he got quite a scare!
Have you seen any accidents go down onstage during concerts?

Isn't it nice to see ex-spouses getting along? Though there's been plenty of rumors about the bitter divorce between Adamari Lopez and Luis Fonsi, the two seem to still speak highly of each other. In fact, Lopez invited her former hubby to watch her dance on the Spanish reality show, ¡Mira Quién Baila! And though he couldn't make the appearance, Fonsi made sure to wish her the best.
"La verdad es que yo siempre voy a apoyar 100% todo lo que Ada haga," Luis told Don Francisco. "Yo la quiero muchísimo y ella lo sabe. De hecho el primer show lo grabé para verla y luego la llamé y le escribí para felicitarla, para decirle que había estado fabulosa. Estoy muy orgulloso de ella y sin duda para mi ella es la que va a ganar."
Of course, Fonsi wasn't on Francisco's show just to respond to Adamari. He dropped by to promote his new album, Terra Firma, and to discuss his impending fatherhood.
Luis made sure to heap plenty of praise on his current steady (and baby mama), Agueda Lopez. And though the parents-to-be will be missing out on ¡Mira Quién Baila!, they may still have a shot at the Pequeños Gigantes reality show (once little Fonsi comes of age).

One of the biggest questions that arose after Luis Fonsi announced his girlfriend's pregnancy was not the gender or the due date, but rather how Adamari Lopez would react! And now, it appears as though his famous ex-wife has piped up via Twitter, albeit with a very vague post.
"Callar es de sabios… Amar es de humanos… llorar es de valientes… y perdonar es de humildes," she wrote.
As you may recall, Fonsi and Lopez were a beloved celebrity couple for over seven years. They had a star-studded wedding, became the subject of Luis' love songs, and endured Adamari's very public cancer battle together. So with last November's divorce, and now the added baby news, it must be a pretty difficult time for Lopez.
Previously, Adamari had said that she will always hold a place in her heart for Fonsi. But we get the feeling that she may not have the same lovey dovey feelings for his baby mama Agueda Lopez. Seeing how Luis and Agueda only went public in April, this "announcement" has certainly put them on the infant fast track.
Adamari reportedly has a new boyfriend that's been keeping her very busy too. Who knows? Perhaps in the next few months, she may have some breaking baby news of her own.

Anyone trying to log on to Luis Fonsi's web page may be having a tough time at the moment. Since announcing that he and girlfriend Agueda Lopez are expecting their first child, the site has been crashing because of an overwhelming amount of activity.
Obviously a Fonsi baby is big news in the Latin world. The Puerto Rican crooner is a darling of the Spanish media, not only for his hit albums, but for his high-profile marriage (and divorce) with novelas star Adamari Lopez.
The romance with Spanish beauty queen Agueda is still rather fresh, but judging by Luis' excitement, he seems to be very happy with the relationship. He also appears to be downright giddy about the prospect of first-time fatherhood.
As he explained on his site,
"Hoy comparto con ustedes la hermosa bendición que Dios me ha dado y que llena de alegría nuestras vidas. Agueda y yo esperamos con ilusión la llegada de nuestro primer hijo en enero del próximo año."
Congratulations to the happy couple!

The album was produced by Sebastian Krys, Armando Avila, Dan Warner, Louis Bianconello, Sam Walters and Lee Levin and Luis Fonsi was a composer on each of the new tracks from the album.
The "Tierra Firme" international promo tour has taken Luis Fonsi to various countries throughout Latin America including Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Spain and most recently Mexico where the artist participated in a week long session of activities celebrating the release of his new production.
Luis Fonsi has been keeping super busy and excited through all this week. First he'll return to his native Puerto Rico and then on to Miami to kick off the media activities for the album release.

Is it us, or are massive music festivals all the rage right now? Yea, we all know about Bonnaroo and Coachella, but this past weekend Mexico held an event that was just as impressive. The third annual Jalisco En Vivo not only brought out stars like Luis Fonsi, Vicente Fernandez, and Julieta Venegas, it attracted over 100,000 fans!
Set in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco En Vivo was originally launched by Alejandro Fernandez to help increase tourism to Mexico. And with all of the recent trouble that’s been happening within the country, it appears as though that cause is still very relevant.
Mexico's Ministry of Tourism played a big part in organizing the event. In addition to the massive musical stage, attendees were treated to a variety of cultural foods and tequila tasting bars. The board also made sure to keep security strict, banning glass bottles, backpacks, and anything they deemed "unsafe."
There were plenty of other pro-Mexico items on display at Jalisco En Vivo too, including a special video presentation highlighting the next season of Nuestra Belleza Mexico (this time to be held in Puerto Vallarta). And the tourism board made sure that plenty of signage was up for the 2011 Pan American Games, which arrive in Guadalajara this October.
Of course, the main draw for the fans was undoubtedly the music. Artists like Tito “El Bambino” delivered fired-up performances and Luis Fonsi offered some special dedications to the roaring crowd.
But who got the biggest response? That would be the final act of the night, legendary ranchero star Vicente Fernandez. Born in Jalisco himself, Vicente still sells an enormous amount of records and seemed genuinely touched by the appreciation he received on stage.
Amazingly the festivities did not die down until roughly 3 a.m. on Sunday morning. And with positive fan reactions (and no major security issues) it’s clear that Jalisco En Vivo did a great job of promoting the best things Mexico has to offer.

The 5th season of "Nuestra Belleza Latina" was filled with glitz, glam, and lots of drama and everything came to a close last night after Nicaraguan beauty Nastassja Bolivar won first place. The official winner may have been criticized for not having advanced Spanish-speaking skills, but her model frame and sweet personality made her a favorite among voters.
The countdown was as entertaining as the first place unveiling since we witnessed the ladies give their final performances and short biographies of their family life.
Gremarie Colón was the first up to perform a tango red performance while her husband Alexis from the duo Alexis y Fido watched in the audience. After her mother, Margarita Jimenez provided a testimony about how much she struggled as a single mom, Gremarie was awarded a tear drop trophy symbolizing her resilient spirit and $1,000 (there is certainly no reason to cry over that!). Gremarie may have been an obvious favorite (some say due to her superstar husband), but her overall performance ended up landed her in second place.
The third place spot went to Nicole Suárez. The Colombian beauty was the youngest in the competition and definitely grew the most confidence throughout the season. She may have lost the crown, but she was offered the priceless gift of being surprised by her father, who lives in Colombia, at the studio. The forth spot went to Jenny Arzola, who was eliminated and brought back to the show after Juliet Cabrera's controversy. We think the Cuban beauty had the best performance of all, but her Afro-Cuban dance wasn't enough to keep her in the running.
The season finale also included a performance by Luis Fonsi, who performed his first single off of his new album "Gritar." Fans were definitely screaming when Nastassja Bolivar took the crown! She truly represented the perfection of "Nuestra Belleza Latina" and walked away with $250,000 and an Univision contract to get her career started in media and communications. We wish her the best of luck!
Who do you think was meant to be the "Nuestra Belleza Latina"?
