Ever since her July split with hubby Aaron Diaz, Kate del Castillo has kept a purposely low profile. But this week, the Without Men star finally opened up about it on El Gordy y La Flaca. Speaking from the heart, she hinted that the two had simply "fallen out of love."
"Our lives went to different places," Kate explained. "There doesn't need to be anything bad behind a breakup."
Indeed, Del Castillo and Diaz have kept things very civil. Neither one has publicly badmouthed the other and their public tweets have been very loving towards each other. But that hasn't stopped the tabloids from spreading gossip, particularly about infidelities.
Kate was quick to dispel those rumors, especially the ones about her hooking up with her male costars.
"I have tons of male friends," she said. "[The tabloids] just saw me at a café with one of the Spanish men who I work with and so they follow you because of course, now I'm with him. It's very stupid."

Apparently it's breakup season in Hollywood right now. In between the J. Lo divorce and Kat Von D's engagement drama, celebrity couple Kate del Castillo and Aaron Díaz have decided to call it quits.
Rumors have been flying for months about Kate and Aaron's marriage problems. Even her own father seemed to question whether the relationship would last. But despite continuous denials, both del Castillo and Diaz finally issued statements today confirming the inevitable.
"Aaron ha sido lo más hermoso que he tenido y lo seguirá siendo,es por eso que hemos decidido separarnos, para poder amarnos siempre," Kate said.
"Qué difícil es separarte de alguien cuando no es por falta de amor. Más difícil aún, aceptar que una relación tan bonita fracasó, por el éxito de dos personas con diferentes caminos."
Though it was nice of them to keep things publicly civil, we're imaging there were some deep reasons for the split. For one thing, del Castillo's career is red hot, which could have threatened Diaz. There's also the issue of timing, and the fact that they are constantly working (and constantly apart).
Perhaps the most interesting rumor may be in regards to Kate's sexual preferences. After seeing her steamy lady love scenes in Without Men and La Reina del Sur, you've got to wonder…Could she now be deciding to swing the other way?

You first heard us talk about Without Men way back in June 2010. And now, over a year later, the independent feature is finally making its way to the big screen. Boasting a cast that includes Eva Longoria, Kate del Castillo, and Christian Slater, we can happily say that this movie was worth the wait!
Argentine-born director Gabriela Tagliavini definitely incorporated a strong sense of "girl power" into the story. But that's not to say that your average guy won't enjoy it too (especially those steamy scenes with Eva and Kate). Above all of the underlying messages though, Without Men is a very humorous comedy with themes that everyone can identify with.
Within the first five minutes, you'll instantly recognize some of your favorite Latino actors in the cast. The Office’s Oscar Nunez plays the frisky town priest, Tr3s star Paul Rodriguez is an over-the-top military leader, and chisme queen Fernanda Romero has a juicy role as a sexy local.
But the actresses that truly stand out are Longoria and del Castillo. Eva shines in her role as the town's mayor, Rosalba. Feminine by all accounts, Rosalba finds herself questioning everything she holds dear when a gruff lady stranger rolls into town. Kate nails the machismo persona perfectly and soon shows Eva the beauty of a female touch.
Now we think you can imagine where things head from there. As we've mentioned in our blog before, there are some very sexy moments between Kate and Eva, but not in the way that you would imagine. Tagliavini does a great job of conveying the love between these two characters, adding several emotional layers to their relationship.
Eventually though, the camaraderie of the town Without Men gets spoiled when "guys" like Christian Slater enter the picture. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Gabriela (who also wrote the story) inserted some very interesting life lessons into this highly amusing tale and, when all is said and done, you'll leave the theater with a greater appreciation for both genders.
Bottom line: Without Men is a winning effort by all accounts. The performances are great, the jokes are original, and there is actually a moral lesson you can ponder once the credits roll. Though this movie may be tough to find at your local Cineplex, we highly recommend seeking it out. And trust us, between the steamy love scenes and female empowerment message, there is stuff here that both guys and girls can appreciate.

It's inevitable. The more famous you get, the more gossip that begins to spread about you. Now, rising star Kate del Castillo has become the victim of speculation, with rumors flying about her "troubled marriage." And interestingly, one of the people adding to those innuendos is her own father, actor Eric del Castillo!
Speaking with Primero Noticias, the 70-year-old novelas star went on to say,
"Lamento profundamente las distancias en que se encuentran, uno por aquí otro por allá, no es un matrimonio normal."
He was, of course, relating to the fact that Kate and her hubby Aarón Díaz are both extremely busy with their acting careers. Traveling as much as they do, it seems like they are rarely seen together. Eric went on to explain that the root of his sadness comes from the fact that he wants a grandchild.
"Afortunadamente van muy bien hasta ahorita, pero me da miedo el futuro"
With Kate currently tied up filming a new Hollywood movie, we're imagining a baby del Castillo may not be in the immediate plans. Right now she's riding on a major wave, which included some serious Emmy consideration for her work in La Reina del Sur.
So far, Kate has been mum on the baby plans, but did address the Emmy issue via tweet.
"Gracias por todo su apoyo! No nos nominaron pero dimos un gran paso! Nunca antes un programa en español había sido tomado en cuenta para los Emmy! Así que animo! Gracias por sus comentarios, los quiero."

Fellas, you've got to love a film title like Without Men. Especially when it's got a star like Eva Longoria in the lead role! No, this movie isn't some late night "Skinemax" venture, but rather a fun comedy from indie director Gabriela Tagliavini. That being said, The Huffington Post is reporting that there are still some sensual lady love scenes between Eva and her costars.
And one costar in particular knows quite a bit about onscreen lesbian romance. Yup, Without Men is bolstering none other than Kate del Castillo in its cast, who as we all know, turned quite a few heads with her female love scenes on La Reina del Sur!
Tagliavini confirmed that Kate and Eva do share some intimate moments in Men, but insists that they were played up for laughs.
"It was a little difficult as the two girls are both straight so they were very nervous and laughed a lot," Gabriela confessed. "But I think that just made it even lovelier. [Female audiences] don't want to watch porn, so it was all very sensual, both are very beautiful women aside from being incredibly funny."
The movie tells the story of a a remote Latin American town in which women are left to look after themselves after all the men are expelled by a band of Communist rebels.
Judging how this movie is a comedy, we're sure the LOLs will extend on screen as well. You can see Eva, Kate, and Tr3s fave Paul Rodriguez bring on the funny when Without Men hits theaters later this year.

Never underestimate the power of a telenovela. Back in the early 1990's, Teresa turned Salma Hayek-Pinault into an international star and now La Reina del Sur might be doing the same for Kate del Castillo. Reports are coming in that the Mexican actress has signed on for her first major Hollywood flick.
Set for a 2012 release date, del Castillo's K-11 movie is bolstering quite an impressive cast. Twilight’s Kristen Stewart and E.R.’s Goran Visnjic have both attached themselves to starring roles. Little is known about the plot, other than that it will be a heavy drama focusing on the transgender community.
Kate, as you know, garnered major attention for her role as Teresa Mendoza on La Reina. There were billboard campaigns, American talk show appearances, and even a push for a Primetime Emmy nod (which sadly didn't come this morning).
But we think of La Reina mostly as a launching pad. After watching the entire season, it's clear that del Castillo has some serious acting chops and we can't wait to see her flex them a little bit more on the big screen!

Kate del Castillo and Aaron Díaz are facing the biggest public relations crisis of their marriage.
Magazines, blogs, tweeter posts and gossip shows have devoted themselves all this week to rumoring about the couple's apparent imminent separation.
The cause seems evident; both, Kate and Aaron have kept working nonstop during most of 2010 and 2011 in different continents. Kate has been starring in the hit TV series "La Reina del Sur" in Spain, and although it already wrapped, she has been promoting it in several different countries.
Aaron has also kept busy back in Mexico starring on the soap opera "Teresa", recording his album (which included the main theme for "Teresa") and even posing for a photo calendar. Recently he has been preparing to shoot the TV series “Chanoc”
All this has gotten the Mexican press busy investigating if an official separation might be inevitable.
Usually, when rumors circulate like this, theyre mostly not true… Yet what set off the real alarm was not the gossip, but rather, Kate del Castillo's reaction.
The actress, who's usually incredibly private and never shares or discusses her private life in public, instead of ignoring the rumors and keep going on about her life, decided to devote herself these past few days to post on Twitter several pictures of her and Aaron apparently relaxing in their home in California.
On June 14 the Mexican actress tweeted a pic taken from a balcony, where you can see Aaron, far away sunbathing by the pool.
In another tweet Kate said,
“We send you a kiss from our home with love”
In the picture (above), Kate hugs Aaron, who seems to be taking a nap. The actress smiles at the camera while Aaron keeps his eyes closed, indifferent to the picture.
What sets off all the alarms is the fact that Kate herself would be so interested in shushing the rumors.
Yesterday, she re tweeted a post by People en Español in which the magazine informs their readers about the tweets.
Our take? We think Kate is looking desperate this time, doing some heavy-duty damage control…. The thing is, you don't do damage control when there's no damage in the first place!
Kate should learn about gossip victim pro's Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The pair has been victim of separation forecasters for years. Their reaction? None whatsoever! They don't post pics, they don't react to gossip.
They might or might not have problems as a couple, yet we'll only know the day they actually separate! And that's the way it's done!

Nothing was censored when Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Madonna decided to lip-lock for the MTV VMA Awards in 2007, but apparently the telenovela world isn't as open about lesbian make-out sessions.
A recent scene of "La Reina del Sur" (which aired last night in Mexico) included a heated kissing scene with Kate del Castillo's character Teresa Mendoza and actress Cristina Urgel's role as "La Teniente." In the scene the two mujeres in prison are celebrating Teresa's birthday over some drinks. Eventually the ladies get tipsy enough to find each other attractive and reach out to kiss, but the scene got cut for Mexican viewers right before their lips meet!
Kate del Castillo's reaction was complete shock and she took to her Twitter page to vent:
"I promise not to continue to stir the pot about this, but it makes me angry to know that my make-out scene with @crisurgel was cut! Buenas noches!"
We don't see what the big deal is either! If the telenovela writers are willing to go there then they assume that audiences are too, no? Truth is they could have come up with a better lesbian scene. Two chicks getting drunk in prison? Really?! The last time we check correctional facilities were not stocking up on the alcoholic drinks! Regardless, we think it's a good start to airing homosexual relationships during Spanish-speaking primetime.
Do you think the lesbian kiss between Kate del Castillo and Cristina Urgel should have been censored?

With great success, comes great headaches. Though Telemundo’s prime time soap La Reina del Sur is delivering phenomenal ratings, it’s also got its share of high-profile critics, including execs from the TV Standards & Practices board in Mexico. This week, they issued several complaints about the show’s violent nature and drug-fueled plotlines.
Obviously, La Reina del Sur is not a series for children. Revolving around of the life of narcotics queen Teresa Mendoza (played by Kate del Castillo), its 62 episodes have featured brutal murders, rampant drug use, and plenty of heavy duty firearms.
But, like all novelas, it’s all done very sensationally and by no means glorifies the drug dealing lifestyle. When speaking about the series to the Associated Press, del Castillo said,
“La Reina del Sur no es en detrimento (de la lucha contra el narcotráfico). La novela es una novela, no hay que profundizar en eso, es entretenimiento, es para divertir a la gente con un tema que está muy candente, es únicamente eso.”
The chief gripe made by the Standards & Practices board is that La Reina is broadcast during the prime time hours. They believe its adult-oriented content would be better suited for viewing after the 10pm hour.
So far, it is unclear if their complaints will actually have an impact on the show.
In the US, violent soaps like El Cartel de los Sapos and Mujeres Asesinas have both previously aired during the same time slot.

Never judge a celebrity by the TV character they play. Though Kate del Castillo is riding high with her role as a lady drug lord in La Reina del Sur, she’s actually quite the humanitarian in real life. And Rico Rodriguez may seem like a typical carefree middle schooler in Modern Family, but he’s a dedicated philanthropist. Now both stars are being honored by the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for their ongoing generosity.
Founded in 1962, St. Jude’s is dedicated to curing ailments that affect children around the world. Focusing on cancer, leukemia, and other serious illnesses, the hospital’s doctors have treated kids in more than 70 countries and made great strides with in improving survival rates for diseases like Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Both Kate and Rico have dedicated a lot of time helping out the organization. Del Castillo is getting honored for her work as an international humanitarian, which should be no surprise to fans who have followed the actress' personal life. In 2009, she became Ambassador for the Mexican Commission on Human Rights.
“I am touched to be recognized by such a caring organization as St. Jude,” Kate said. "Knowing that children who are fighting such deadly diseases have a safe place to turn to and are provided with everything they need makes me proud to be a part of this great organization."
And even though Rico is only 12-years-old, he’s already regarded as one of young Hollywood’s most charitable personalities.
“I am so happy to be recognized by St. Jude’s,” Rodriguez explained. “At the end of last year, I had the opportunity to hang out with Carson, a St. Jude patient who is now cancer-free. Meeting Carson and knowing that right now there are kids my age and younger battling cancer at St. Jude really makes me want to help make a difference in their lives."
Both Kate and Rico got their moment in the spotlight last Friday at the St. Jude’s “Estrellas por la Vida” gala, which featured notable guests like Christian Chávez and Jessica Maldonado. And, in a fitting tribute, it was Rico’s sister (and business partner) Raini who presented him with his award.
