It's funny how a wave of backlash can change a celebrity’s mind. Just a few days after Kate del Castillo proudly tweeted her affections for drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the actress backtracked on her statement.
"It's unfortunate that some people have misinterpreted my tweets," Kate said. "I'm sorry if there were any people who were offended. My only intention was to bring a message of peace."
Obviously preaching about an infamous cartel leader was not the right move if you're hoping to spread a message of "peace." But, in actuality, we do believe that del Castillo's heart was in the right place.
Reading between the lines, it's clear that Kate's original post was meant to encourage government officials to take better care of their citizens. Perhaps if she wants to make her messages more precise, La Reina should hire her own "official" to take better care of her tweets.

Did Kate del Castillo take her role in La Reina del Sur just a little too far? The Mexican actress caused a whirlwind of controversy yesterday after Tweeting supportive messages to notorious drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzmán.
In actuality, Kate's posts were more anti-government than pro-drugs. In a very long message, del Castillo called out corrupt political officials.
"Today, I trust in El Chapo Guzman more than I do the governments that hide painful truths, that hide the cure for cancer, AIDS, etc. for their own benefit and wealth," she wrote.
And for the record, Kate's Twitter was not hacked before the statement went out. Her publicist confirmed that all of the words were written solely by Del Castillo.
Guzman, who's currently on the run from the law, has been known to be a ruthless figure. His cartel is responsible for thousands of murders. So while Kate's heart may be in the right place, perhaps she should have picked a different outlaw to prove her point.

The film Without Men continues to spur talk as its main star Eva Longoria plays a woman who is left in charge of a small village in Latin America after all its men are forcibly recruited by a band of guerrillas. All the women are left to fend for themselves without knowing what to do. However, they quickly adapt and take over roles typically assigned to the men.
There is, of course, a sexual void, filled rather exceptionally in a steamy scene between Longoria and Kate Del Castillo, a famous Mexican actress whose sexual ambivalence has left people everywhere wondering, 'is she?'
Spanish audiences, however, won't get a chance to see the lesbian scene, or any other, for that matter, as puritanical film executives have decided to remove any trace of lesbianism and deposit it on the cutting room floor. Why, you might ask?
Without Men is one of many films presented at the International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in Barcelona, but according to director Xavier Daniel, he was shocked to learn that the film's distributor had censored the film.
"We received word from the Spanish distributor specifying that upon the film's debut in Spain, all of the lesbian scenes will be removed," the director told the AFP news agency.
"We're very upset that a company would alter a film that way. People won't fully understand the plot if all the female love scenes are cut," Daniel explained. "It's unbelievable that this would happen in 2011."
Film festival organizers have decided to remove Without Men entirely from its lineup, refusing to screen the censored film.
AOL Latino did not receive comment from the studio behind the film, Maya Entertainment, or from the film's lead actress, Eva Longoria.

The holidays are fast approaching, so expect plenty of champagne toasts in the next few weeks. And if you happen to live in Houston or Los Angeles, you may be able to clink a glass of bubbly with Kate del Castillo. The La Reina del Sur star is now "officially" a spokeswoman for Moet.
Kate will be participating in the "Estrella de Moet" campaign, which has her making several live appearances at champagne retail outlets. Customers who happen to be there on the right day and at the right time will get to meet del Castillo and join her for a spirited toast.
"I'm honored to be working with Moet and excited to toast with my fans in celebration of the holiday season," Kate happily said in a recent statement.
As of right now, her appearance locations are being kept under wraps. What we do know is that del Castillo will be promoting the bubbly in Houston on November 11-12 and in Los Angeles during early December. So if you see a limo in the BevMo parking lot during that time, grab your camera and give our regards to Kate!

It looks like Billboard is ready to branch out. After putting out successful shows like the Billboard Music Awards and the Billboard Latin Music Awards, the trade mag is now launching the first ever Billboard Mexican Music Awards. And they've hired Kate del Castillo to be the host!
To be fair, del Castillo will actually be co-hosting with Pedro Fernandez. But the novela queen is already attracting a ton of attention over her new role. She even sent out several tweets about it this week.
Expected to be a who's who in the regional Mexican music world, the show's already lined up performances from Jenni Rivera, America Sierra, and El Bebeto. Mama-to-be Gaby Espino has been listed as a presenter, along with Chino y Nacho.
Telemundo, which coincidentally was the home of Kate's hugely popular La Reina del Sur, will be airing the show later this month. Keep checking with Blogamole to hear about all of the big winners!

According to the latest reports, newly divorced couple Kate del Castillo and Aaron Diaz are already off the market. Rumors are saying that Kate is cozying up with her La Reina del Sur costar Ivan Sanchez and Aaron is romancing Ana Brenda Contreras.
Diaz has adamantly denied that he's been hooking up since his summer divorce. He jokingly told the hosts of El Gordo y La Flaca that the gossip sites are living in "fantasy land."
"Es normal cuando dos personas se separan, especialmente cuando están en este medio, que empiecen a inventar cosas," he said. "Es normal, lo entendemos."
Aaron's rumored flame Ana Brenda has also denied any hookups, claiming that they are (you guessed it) "just very good friends."
"I have a great relationship with him. We are friends. It doesn’t bother me that they say that because it's a lie," she explained. "Aaron is not my boyfriend. We've worked together and nothing more. My only boyfriend at this time is the novela I am working on and when I find a partner I will say it without fear."
Del Castillo, on the other hand, has been extremely quiet about her romantic status in the past few months.
We say, go ahead and date. The rings are officially off the fingers, so now is the time to have fun!

Ever since her July split with hubby Aaron Diaz, Kate del Castillo has kept a purposely low profile. But this week, the Without Men star finally opened up about it on El Gordy y La Flaca. Speaking from the heart, she hinted that the two had simply "fallen out of love."
"Our lives went to different places," Kate explained. "There doesn't need to be anything bad behind a breakup."
Indeed, Del Castillo and Diaz have kept things very civil. Neither one has publicly badmouthed the other and their public tweets have been very loving towards each other. But that hasn't stopped the tabloids from spreading gossip, particularly about infidelities.
Kate was quick to dispel those rumors, especially the ones about her hooking up with her male costars.
"I have tons of male friends," she said. "[The tabloids] just saw me at a café with one of the Spanish men who I work with and so they follow you because of course, now I'm with him. It's very stupid."

Apparently it's breakup season in Hollywood right now. In between the J. Lo divorce and Kat Von D's engagement drama, celebrity couple Kate del Castillo and Aaron Díaz have decided to call it quits.
Rumors have been flying for months about Kate and Aaron's marriage problems. Even her own father seemed to question whether the relationship would last. But despite continuous denials, both del Castillo and Diaz finally issued statements today confirming the inevitable.
"Aaron ha sido lo más hermoso que he tenido y lo seguirá siendo,es por eso que hemos decidido separarnos, para poder amarnos siempre," Kate said.
"Qué difícil es separarte de alguien cuando no es por falta de amor. Más difícil aún, aceptar que una relación tan bonita fracasó, por el éxito de dos personas con diferentes caminos."
Though it was nice of them to keep things publicly civil, we're imaging there were some deep reasons for the split. For one thing, del Castillo's career is red hot, which could have threatened Diaz. There's also the issue of timing, and the fact that they are constantly working (and constantly apart).
Perhaps the most interesting rumor may be in regards to Kate's sexual preferences. After seeing her steamy lady love scenes in Without Men and La Reina del Sur, you've got to wonder…Could she now be deciding to swing the other way?

You first heard us talk about Without Men way back in June 2010. And now, over a year later, the independent feature is finally making its way to the big screen. Boasting a cast that includes Eva Longoria, Kate del Castillo, and Christian Slater, we can happily say that this movie was worth the wait!
Argentine-born director Gabriela Tagliavini definitely incorporated a strong sense of "girl power" into the story. But that's not to say that your average guy won't enjoy it too (especially those steamy scenes with Eva and Kate). Above all of the underlying messages though, Without Men is a very humorous comedy with themes that everyone can identify with.
Within the first five minutes, you'll instantly recognize some of your favorite Latino actors in the cast. The Office’s Oscar Nunez plays the frisky town priest, Tr3s star Paul Rodriguez is an over-the-top military leader, and chisme queen Fernanda Romero has a juicy role as a sexy local.
But the actresses that truly stand out are Longoria and del Castillo. Eva shines in her role as the town's mayor, Rosalba. Feminine by all accounts, Rosalba finds herself questioning everything she holds dear when a gruff lady stranger rolls into town. Kate nails the machismo persona perfectly and soon shows Eva the beauty of a female touch.
Now we think you can imagine where things head from there. As we've mentioned in our blog before, there are some very sexy moments between Kate and Eva, but not in the way that you would imagine. Tagliavini does a great job of conveying the love between these two characters, adding several emotional layers to their relationship.
Eventually though, the camaraderie of the town Without Men gets spoiled when "guys" like Christian Slater enter the picture. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Gabriela (who also wrote the story) inserted some very interesting life lessons into this highly amusing tale and, when all is said and done, you'll leave the theater with a greater appreciation for both genders.
Bottom line: Without Men is a winning effort by all accounts. The performances are great, the jokes are original, and there is actually a moral lesson you can ponder once the credits roll. Though this movie may be tough to find at your local Cineplex, we highly recommend seeking it out. And trust us, between the steamy love scenes and female empowerment message, there is stuff here that both guys and girls can appreciate.

It's inevitable. The more famous you get, the more gossip that begins to spread about you. Now, rising star Kate del Castillo has become the victim of speculation, with rumors flying about her "troubled marriage." And interestingly, one of the people adding to those innuendos is her own father, actor Eric del Castillo!
Speaking with Primero Noticias, the 70-year-old novelas star went on to say,
"Lamento profundamente las distancias en que se encuentran, uno por aquí otro por allá, no es un matrimonio normal."
He was, of course, relating to the fact that Kate and her hubby Aarón Díaz are both extremely busy with their acting careers. Traveling as much as they do, it seems like they are rarely seen together. Eric went on to explain that the root of his sadness comes from the fact that he wants a grandchild.
"Afortunadamente van muy bien hasta ahorita, pero me da miedo el futuro"
With Kate currently tied up filming a new Hollywood movie, we're imagining a baby del Castillo may not be in the immediate plans. Right now she's riding on a major wave, which included some serious Emmy consideration for her work in La Reina del Sur.
So far, Kate has been mum on the baby plans, but did address the Emmy issue via tweet.
"Gracias por todo su apoyo! No nos nominaron pero dimos un gran paso! Nunca antes un programa en español había sido tomado en cuenta para los Emmy! Así que animo! Gracias por sus comentarios, los quiero."
