Millions of women across America tune into The View every day for a variety of female perspectives. The show features young mothers, such as Elizabeth Hasslebeck, and 50-something African-Americans, such as Whoopi Goldberg, but so far no Latinas.
Extra’s producers are hoping to change all that with their new series Chit Chat. The pilot, introduced by Mario Lopez, aired as a half-hour special on Christmas Day, featuring a top-notch round table of Latina talkers. The show will air again during Extra’s Weekend Edition, but insiders say it could spin off into its own series within the next few months.
Two of the show's hosts were "married" to comedian George Lopez — his ex-wife Ann Lopez and his former TV wife, Constance Marie. The other co-hosts include BET’s Julissa Bermudez, singer Sara Sohn and former Dancing With the Stars contestant Sabrina Bryan.
Looking at the guest roster, it’s clear that Chit Chat's producers are taking this project seriously. Colombian rocker Juanes sat down with the ladies to discuss his new album and Azteca sports reporter Ines Sainz dished on motherhood and football. We can think of at least one other guest who could really get this group talking.
Would you tune into the Chit Chat talk show? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.

Julissa Bermudez may be known for dodging The Situation’s flirty remarks during the drama infested “Jersey Shore Reunion Special” and playing Wisin y Yandel’s ‘it girl’ in the hit “Mujeres In The Club” video, but the MTV hostess is now honing her camera skills as an actress in the independent flick, “Harlem Hostel.”

The Dominican belleza plays Julie, a talented magazine editor who inspires her friends to slap out of loser-hood. Her words of wisdom fall flat after the ambiguous trio Will, Rick, and Ben decides to open an illegal youth hostel. Watching this crew flex their entrepreneur skills is way worse than Snookie’s drunken cartwheels, but definitely just as entertaining to share risas too!
We caught up with Julissa at the “Harlem Hostel” DVD release party at Sazón to get all of the dirt on the “Jersey Shore” behind-the-scenes drama and whether she shares any of her character’s good girl ways in real life.
Tr3s: What inspired you to go from hosting to acting?
Julissa: Well, I actually started out acting in high school and I always loved it. Hosting for me was a bit of a detour because I literally just went to the casting and ended up getting it. When I started hosting on “The Roof” and saw the positive reaction from young girls I fell in love instantly. It means so much to be a role model to young women, especially for young Latinas. Now I am just trying to balance out both passions.

Some sexy Dominicanas were in attendance at the Latina Magazine launch party last week, in which Arlenis Sosa's March cover was revealed.
Arlenis, una bella Dominicana who's been making waves in the modeling world since being discovered in Santo Domingo in 2008, is currently the spokesmodel for Lancôme. The makeup company hosted the event, which was also attended by Kat DeLuna, MTV's own Julissa Bermudez, and Latina Mag editor, Mimi Valdes. Que mujeres tan hermosas, verdad?
We're loving Kat's stylish vestido and intense black eyeliner. She looks smoking!
We LOVE seeing hot Latina women succeeding en el mundo de la moda!

Keep your eyes locked on Julissa Bermudez because she won't be fading from view anytime soon. The Queens native landed on "The Roof" as Mun 2's bilingual host and nested a career as the first Latina host on BET's "106 & Park" back in 2005. Now, Julissa is remixing her career with help from the most krump-tastic, hard-hitting, tricked-out dance show.
The 24 year-old Dominicana will be exercising her VJ skills on MTV's pre-show for "America's Best Dance Crew," premiering on July 24th at 8:30 pm EST. Besides bringin' the flava to the second season of the MTV hit, Julissa is prepping to make a splash on the big screen with her role in the upcoming dance drama "Make It Happen."
We had a charla with the industry renegade. She dished with us on taking over Hollywood (who could turn this chica down for a job -- look at those lashes!) and the importance of giving back to la comunidad.
