We know what you're thinking. France’s annual Cannes Film Festival is nothing but a frou frou celebration of boring "artistic" movies. And while you won't see any Fast Fives fighting for the coveted Palme d’Or, there are actually quite a bit of fist-pumping flicks that are well worth adding to your summer viewing list. This year's celebration includes such upcoming blockbusters as Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Kung Fu Panda 2!

Granted there will definitely be some slower paced dramas added into the mix as well, but even those are grabbing attention. Sleeping Beauty, for one, happens to be one of Cannes' more controversial competitors. Featuring Sucker Punch’s Emily Browning, it’s about as far removed from that classic Disney film as you can imagine. There are subplots about prostitution, drug addiction, and the Australian underworld, which have led the critics to label it the year's first "erotic fairy tale."

Jumping back to more mainstream territory, Johnny Depp's On Stranger Tides has earned a well deserved slot on the Cannes playlist. If you think this is just another summer popcorn movie, think again. Director Rob Marshall has helmed some the last decade’s most celebrated films, including Nine and Memoirs of a Geisha. His artistic touch will definitely bring some extra layers to Pirates. Plus, it's got two Academy Award-winning stars, Geoffrey Rush and Penelope Cruz!

On the animation front, Dreamworks is looking to leave a major mark on the festival. As you already know, Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek left a big impression when they arrived to promote their fall movie, Puss In Boots.

But Thursday promises even more paparazzi attention as Angelina Jolie makes her appearance to debut Kung Fu Panda 2. For the record, Cannes will actually get treated to the full "Brangelina" experience. Hubby Brad will be there too, promoting his upcoming drama, Tree of Life.

On the international front, Latin American countries like Brazil and Chile are taking their shot at the Palme d’Or as well. The Brazilian drama Hard Labor was written and directed by the creative team of Juliana Rojas and Marco Dutra and is expected to have a major impact. Chile's Bonsai is a little more lighthearted. Described as a romantic dramedy, director Christian Jimenez calls it, "a homage to lies, fiction, and artifice."

Obviously with two weeks worth of films, you can expect a lot more than that. Other notable entries include Mel Gibson's The Beaver and the action-packed Drive starring Ryan Gosling. You can check out all of the entries on the Cannes website, or just wait until they hit the states within the next few months.

Time to break out the promise rings. Some young celebs are kissing the promiscuous life goodbye. In fact, just last week, Mexican heartthrob Eduardo Verastegui said he has been celibate for more than nine years. And he’s not the only famous face to make such a claim.

Eduardo spoke candidly about his strong Catholic roots and his vow to stay “pure” at a conference on Monday.

"Hoy soy feliz, tengo paz, no está la que podría ser la madre de mis hijos. Si llega, lo único que quiero es estar preparado, es por eso que desde hace ocho años, casi nueve, le hice una promesa a Dios de castidad.”

Dedicating his life to God and chastity puts Eduardo in some high-profile company. Artists such as the Jonas Brothers have taken similar vows and donned “promise rings” to show their dedication.

“[The rings] are a constant reminder to live a life with values,” oldest brother Kevin Jonas told The Daily Mail.

Middle brother Joe, further explained the meaning to Details magazine.

“[They symbolize] a promise to ourselves and to God that we’ll stay pure ‘til marriage.”

Other Disney Channel stars have followed suit with the chastity pledge, though some have held to it better than others. Selena Gomez showed off her promise ring at multiple red carpet events, but it mysteriously went missing after Justin Bieber came into her life.

Miley Cyrus reportedly wears a ring as well, and seemed to be quite proud about the positive message she’s conveying to her young female fans.

“I like to think of myself as the girl that no one can get,” Miley told TV Guide. “Even at my age, a lot of girls are starting to fall and I think if [staying a virgin] is a commitment girls make, that’s great!”

Of course, the celebrity celibacy trend doesn’t just resonate within the younger crowd. Megastars like Lady Gaga, Lenny Kravitz and Terence Howard have all claimed to have put a halt to their sex lives for long periods of time.

Demi Lovato may have been going through worse things than what we thought. It’s rumored that Demi Lovato had been experimenting with narcotics and drinking heavily.

Texas college student, Brian Payne told Life & Style Magazine, “She was doing line after line like a pro – and she was 17 at the time. I just remember her doing it [cocaine] as if she and been doing it for a long time…. It didn’t seem like something new to her.”

An anonymous source tells Life & Style, “Since Joe dumped her, Demi’s been depressed and drinking a lot. It’s been hard for her to keep working so closely with Joe.”

This is all devastating, especially for being so young and talented. After admitting herself into rehab for “emotional and physical issues,” the gossip mill has been in full speed. Just last week there were reports that Demi had punched one of her back dancers, Alex Welch,

As they say in the entertainment biz, the show must go on. And even though their co-headliner, Demi Lovato, had to drop out because of “emotional issues,” the Jonas Brothers tour is moving forward with Brazilian pop star, Jullie, singing in her place.

Literally known as the South American Demi Lovato, Juliana Vasconcelos Póvoas (better known as Jullie) actually sang on the international soundtrack for Camp Rock 2. Not only that, she covered Demi’s song “Wouldn’t Change A Thing” in Spanish and recorded a duet with Lovato ex, Joe Jonas!

Many have said that Jullie and Demi even share a pretty close resemblance. Could Joe be moving on to another lookalike Latina to mend his broken heart? As of right now there have been no romance rumors between the two, but anything’s possible now that they’ll be sharing a stage together.

Jullie made her big Jonas debut this past Saturday (November 6) in Sao Paulo Brazil to thousands of screaming fans. Now of course no one can replace Demi Lovato and we definitely wish her well, but for the time being, we’re very excited to see how far the talents of Miss Jullie will go!

As if things in Mexico weren’t bad enough. Citizens of Monterrey have had to deal with murders, corruption, and now a cancelled concert from the Jonas Brothers! This week Joe, Kevin, and Nick issued a statement saying they would not be performing a scheduled October 21st show in the city because of “the recent series of unfortunate events.”

Hmmm…sounds like a very politically correct way of saying that Monterrey’s increased drug violence has scared them away. And to be honest, it’s hard to blame them. According to CNN, Monterrey has endured three grenade attacks in October alone.

As Kevin Jonas put it,

"Our fans in Monterrey and all of Mexico are some of the best in the world. We love any opportunity we have to visit and although we won't be able to see everyone at the moment, we hope to come back very soon."

Keep in mind that the JoBros aren’t abandoning the country entirely. The group is still keeping scheduled tour dates in Guadalajara (October 23) and Mexico City (October 24).

It’s just a shame that Monterrey fans, and the city itself, will miss out on the opportunity. Big concerts can generate tons of revenue for local vendors. Plus, who couldn’t use some live poppy tunes during such a rough time? Maybe Lady Gaga can make a stop there when she hits Mexico in 2011.

Time for a Baby Chisme alert! It seems like Demi Lovato’s 8-year-old sister, Madison de la Garza, and 10-year-old Frankie Jonas are caught up in a major feud. Apparently the spat began after Madison snubbed the youngest Jo-Bro on the set of Camp Rock 2.

Of course, another big reason for the bickering could be tied to the breakup of their older siblings, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas. Could the pint-sized former BFFs have been forced to pick sides? According to Perez Hilton, the fight purely stems from Madison forgetting to say goodbye after a long day of hanging out.

A rising star in her own right, you probably recognize Madison for her role as Juanita Solis, Eva Longoria Parker’s daughter on Desperate Housewives. Frankie’s got quite a career too, having already won a Teen Choice Award for his role on the Jonas Bros. TV show.

But will it ever be possible for these two to make up? Well if Demi and Joe can still tour and act together after a heavy duty breakup, we’re sure their two little counterparts can work it out too. Perhaps by stepping in front of the mic for a family duet?

Is Demi Lovato ready for a major big screen career? We sure think so and so do about 8 million dedicated TV viewers! Our favorite Latina Tween Twitter Queen scored the biggest ratings of any cable movie this year with her premiere of Disney’s “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam”.

Ok, so maybe the Jonas Bros. helped a little, but if this audience is any indication of what kind of fan base Demi is capable of, she’s well on her way to superstar status. Just like “High School Musical” launched Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, this movie is on fire with young teens and music fans.

Featuring no less than 15 original songs by Lovato and the Jo Bros, “Camp Rock 2” is also part of an ongoing world tour featuring all four stars. Plus with all of that romantic tension between Demi and Joe Jonas, fans were very curious to see if they’d now hook up onscreen (No Spoilers Here!).

But with a subtitle like “The Final Jam” and the ongoing breakup drama, could this really be final film in the series? We all know how movie studios work. Once they see the huge ratings and profit potential, we imagine a big screen version of “Camp Rock 3: The Final Final Jam” could very well become a reality.

Single guys and gals, commence jumping for delusional joy! Heartthrob Joe Jonas and Disney starlet Demi Lovato have officially broken up. News broke yesterday (May 24), with rumors circulating that Joe broke up with Demi on the phone. Harsh!

Today (May 25), Demi took to Twitter to set the record straight:

“There are so many crazy rumors flying around today. I'd like to clear a few things up. First, Joe and I did split but it wasn't over the phone. Things didn't work out but we'll remain friends. Secondly, I am NOT dating anybody already. Nothing is more important to me than the relationship I have with my fans..Just thought you guys should know this.”

Shortly after Demi spoke her piece, Joe released his own statement:

“Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one. I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to breakup but I love her as a friend. She's been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her.”

At least they are both being mature about this! Joe has obviously learned from his previous relationship; back in November 2008, Jonas' ex Taylor Swift admitted he dumped her during a "27 second" phone call.

Unfortunately, Jemi's break up couldn’t have come at a more awkward time; the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato are about to embark on their “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” world tour.

That sounds like tons of fun, being stuck on a bus with your ex boo and his brothers.

Attention all "Camp Rock" fans! In case you missed it, the Jonas Brothers premiered their new video "It's On" on Friday (May 14) and it included a teaser to what you can expect in the upcoming sequel, set to premiere on the Disney channel September 3rd.

Joe and Kevin Jonas shared details about "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" with MTV News:

Joe: We shot [the video] back in September, October, and it was a great experience. We were able to get back with the cast, and the video was really fun.
