What a wild year it's been in the chisme world. There were enough baby bumps, nasty divorces, and estrella scandals to fill five seasons of Popland! And before that ball drops on 2011, we thought it would be fun to look back on some of our favorite Blogamole stories throughout the past 12 months.
2011 certainly kicked off with its share of chisme. There was that January announcement about Shakira splitting up with her longtime boyfriend Antonio de la Rua. Now we all know that she was spotted with her current flame, Gerard Piqué, just a short time later. Could there have been an overlapping relationship? We'll probably never know for sure, but thankfully Antonio has landed on his feet in the love department.
And speaking of love, quite a few new celebrity couples emerged in the past year. Perhaps the biggest of them all was Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. These two started getting spotted together in late 2010, but didn't announce their official "relationship" until the Oscars after-party in March.
Casper Smart and Jennifer Lopez made surprising couple news when they became an item this past November. Of course, that attaches itself to a much bigger chisme story; the JLo/Marc Anthony divorce! Nobody in the media saw that breakup coming and, from what we've heard so far, the split was not acrimonious.
Several other famous faces parted ways with their steadies this year. Zoe Saldana, who had been with her boyfriend for 11 years, broke off her engagement in November. And Ana de la Reguera endured a pretty public split too. Her man, Univision anchor Jorge Ramos, publicly cheated back in January.
But the year wasn’t just filled with scandals. Plenty of happy new arrivals kept gossip blogs buzzing too. Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem welcomed their first child in January, Jessica Alba gave Honor Marie a younger sister back in August, and Benicio del Toro became a first-time daddy after a tryst with Kimberly Stewart.
2011 also proved to be stellar year for some Latino up-and-comers. Romeo Santos proved he could handle solo stardom just fine after the release of his album, Formula Vol. 1. Victoria Justice also created quite a bit of buzz this year, and not just for her singing abilities. She was able to hold down a hit TV show, movie roles, and major merchandising deals! One of our personal faves, Sie7e, made a big mark too, winning Best New Artist at the Latin Grammys.
But if we had to award one Chisme King of the Year, it would have to be Charlie Sheen. The self-described "Warlock" made more Blogamole headlines than just about any other star. Whether it was his "Tiger's Blood" rants, his Two and a Half Men drama, or his wacky intern program, Mr. Sheen definitely made for an eventful 2011.
That being said, there are still a few more days until the December 31st clock strikes midnight, so you never know who else may make the annual chisme list!

Notice anything interesting at your local movie theater? We may still be in December, but the 2012 blockbuster posters are already going up. And judging by the trailers and teaser pix we've seen so far, there is A LOT to get excited about.
One of next year's most anticipated flicks is clearly The Dark Knight Rises. This third installment of the Christopher Nolan Batman franchise may be its last, but we expect it to go out with a bang! Still shrouded in secrecy, there are reports about famous Gotham villains like Catwoman, Bane, and Ra's al Ghul causing on screen havoc. But even more interesting are the rumors about a caped crusader sidekick. Could Joseph Gordon Levitt be sliding into Robin's tights? We'll find out on July 20.
Another biggie is undoubtedly The Avengers. A who's who of the Marvel universe, this fanboy fest promises killer scenes with Iron Man, Captain America, and the Incredible Hulk. And if that weren't enough, it's got sci-fi god Joss Whedon at the helm! Look for The Avengers to arrive on May 4.
And speaking of fantasy, Middle Earth fans are chomping at the bit to get a glimpse of the first Hobbit scenes. A prequel to Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, this epic two-part movie saga promises to expand the legend and will bring back a ton of your favorite characters. Expect to see Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood, and Orlando Bloom return to their signature roles. Even fan fave Gollum is slated to make an appearance.
Another biggie to look out for is The Hunger Games. Based on the bestselling novel, it mixes in action, sci-fi, and plenty of conspiracy theories. Original author Suzanne Collins has signed on to adapt the screenplay, so you can bet it will keep all of the book's thrills intact.
In the comedy world, Men In Black III will definitely be packing seats on Memorial Day weekend. This latest installment's got Will Smith, weird aliens, and a bit of 20th century time traveling.
There will also be a ton of Tr3s faves making their mark on the big screen next year. Expect strong box office numbers from Sofia Vergara's Three Stooges movie. The Amazing Spider-Man with Martin Sheen should rake in a huge lump of cash too. We're also extremely stoked to see Javier Bardem duke it out with James Bond in Skyfall.
So keep racking up those movie theater rewards points, because next year there will be plenty of reasons to plant yourself in front of the big screen!

What makes a good mom? The way you cuddle your baby? The way you read to it every night? Or perhaps the way you give it milk from your breasts?! If you were to ask Javier Bardem's mom Pilar, the latter is by far the most important.
Mama Bardem gave the Spanish press a very funny quote last week when asked about her famous daughter-in-law. Talking about Penelope Cruz' mothering skills, Pilar was very complementary (especially in the breastfeeding department).
"Penelope is the most marvelous woman in the world," she said. "And the most marvelous woman in the world that keeps breastfeeding her child."
Well, truth be told, she may have a point. The latest pictures of Javier and Penelope's 10-month-old son Leo show him to be a large and healthy baby. So there's no doubt that he's getting plenty of nourishment from beneath mama's bra line.

Back in July, we told you that Javier Bardem was confirmed to be the next James Bond villain. And since then, there have been quite a few developments. The latest 007 movie now has a title (Skyfall), a new mysterious character played Ralph Fiennes, and a possible nude scene for Javier!
Star Daniel Craig leaked the latest bit of news at a recent press conference for the film. Speaking about Bardem's bad guy role, he jokingly went on to say,
"Javier's stripped naked for most of the movie. It's when I keep my shirt on we should be talking about."
Currently filming in London, Skyfall should have some very interesting plot points for die-hard 007 fans. This time out, there may be a mole in the agency that employs Bond, leading him to question his longstanding superior, Agent M.
What that has to do with a naked Javier Bardem still makes no sense to us. But if the Bond producers are looking to attract more of a female audience, that’s a pretty good way to do it. You can see just how much Javier "reveals" when Skyfall hits theaters next October.

James Bond's film # 23 will be called Skyfall and Javier Bardem, Albert Finney and Ralph Fiennes will be among the big stars who will head the cast of the new flick.
Daniel Craig is the 007 for a third time, while Dame Judi Dench also returns once more as M. French actress and model Bérenice Marlohe is the new Bond Girl and English actress Naomie Harris plays a field agent called Eve.
Spanish star Javier Bardem will be Bond's nemesis. Now we all love Bardem as the bad guy, since No Country for Old Men got him an Oscar! Can't wait to see what evil he brings to Bond!
Craig, who has already starred in two films as the super secret agent, admitted that would like to play 007 for "a few more years".
He said:
"Being lucky enough to get the chance to do a third one, it is my intention to make the best Bond movie we possibly could - and Bond with a capital B - and I'm just incredibly proud to be part of this group of people."
Director Sam Mendes said the film would be shot in London, Turkey, China and Scotland. According to Mendes "There's lots of surprises," in store for us.
Skyfall, the 23rd installment of the world famous film franchise, aims to bounce it back after the last movie earned mixed reviews and the MGM Studio that put the production on hold for months went bankrupt.
What do you think of the cast of Skyfall? Do you like the new title?

Hollywood agents love casting Javier Bardem as the bad guy. He won an Oscar as meanie Anton Chigurh in 2007's No Country For Old Men, he’s about to be the next James Bond villain, and now he's gearing up to voice the evil El Macho in Despicable Me 2.
One of 2010's most successful animated features, Despicable Me scored over $250 million at the box office. The story of bumbling criminal mastermind Gru (played by Steve Carrell) and his quest to steal the moon struck a chord with audiences around the world.
Since its release, Despicable has spun off into books, video games, and Smartphone apps, so why not a colorful sequel? Execs at Universal Pictures are reportedly putting Part 2 on the fast track and have already negotiated most of the original voice cast to come back.
Very little is known about Javier's character other than he’ll be of Latin origin and have a trouble-making son named Machito. We are very curious to see how this project shapes up!

With Sam Mendes directing and the talent of Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem, it seems all the newest James Bond film needs is the hottest new artist to sing the title song. Well... that hot new artist might just be Adele as she mistakenly and innocently spilled the beans during a recent appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show.
The British singer kind of gave herself away when she said that she was going back into the studio in November, although she really tried not to reveal what it was, she burst into a cute nervous laughter when Ross hums the iconic James Bond music.
Adele denied it quickly after her laugh and a bit shaken by the subject she tried to change the subject of the conversation. Well, even though it was not the formal announcement, it's quite a given now, why else would she be so secretive about a title? ...Unless it's the theme song of a film that has not yet been given a title, like the new James Bond flick!
I think we can all agree that Adele singing the theme song to a James Bond film is simply brilliant! Her bluesy, soulful voice is reminiscent of the great Shirley Bassey. Bassey actually sang the theme song to three of the Bond films: Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker.
Adele is sure to captivate us all once again with her amazing talent in her rendition of James Bond's new theme!
Are you a fan of Adele?

Even movie companies seem to be feeling the sting of the recession these days. After months of development and the casting of Javier Bardem, Universal Pictures has decided not to move forward with the film adaptation of Stephen King's epic, The Dark Tower.
"Epic" is probably the key word in this equation. You see, The Dark Tower wasn't just going to be a standalone film. Producers had wanted to turn King's seven-book series into a feature film trilogy and a TV show.
Obviously keeping Javier on board for all of those projects would require a pretty pricey contract. Plus, the story of The Dark Tower involves alternate universes, wizards, and mythical creatures, which wouldn't be cheap to create in a CGI studio.
So, the official word is Universal has put the project "on hiatus." But that doesn't mean another studio won't pick it up. As we all know, Warner Bros. recently ran out of Harry Potter movies and they could be on the hunt for a new cinematic epic.

Admit it, Javier Bardem makes a pretty good bad guy. Just look at his role in No Country For Old Men and you'll know that's the case. And after playing sympathetic characters in films like Biutiful and Eat Pray Love, the versatile actor is ready to get evil again for Bond 23.
What is Bond 23? That would be the still untitled 23rd installment of the James Bond franchise. Following up Quantum of Solace, this new secret agent thriller will bring back Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench.
Interestingly Raph Fiennes (fresh off his creepy turn as Voldemort in the Harry Potter films) will also be joining the cast in a "darkly complex" role. But it will be Javier who's causing the most damage. Little is known about his character, other than that he is the "central villain."
Believe it or not, it's been three years since agent 007 graced the silver screen and buzz is building fast for the new sequel. American Beauty’s Sam Mendes has been confirmed as the director and British beauty Naomie Harris is now the next "official" Bond girl. Look for it in theaters sometime in 2012.

It looks like the tabloids may have been mistaken about that bitter feud between Penelope Cruz and Eva Longoria. This past weekend, the two starlets hit L.A.’s popular Forum arena for a Prince concert, bringing along their famous men for a high-energy double date.
Just last month, it was reported that Penelope was very upset about Eva dating her younger bro Eduardo. Cruz and her hubby, Javier Bardem, are considered Spanish acting royalty and the rumor was that Pe thought Longoria was using her brother to get closer to their A-list circle.
From the Prince concert footage that was leaked Monday, it’s clear that’s not the case. Both women seemed to be having a great time dancing to classic hits like “Let’s Work” and “Kiss.” Eva even jumped onstage to join the purple rocker for an impromptu dance.
The Bardems were also spotted getting funky during the performance. Prince seemed delighted to get some extra attention onstage and, as expected, the crowd ate it up. When it was all said and done, the legendary rocker even passed along a special gift to baby Leo – souvenir drumsticks!
