Judging by the smile on his face at the Scarface DVD party, you can tell that Al Pacino is quite proud of the classic 1983 film. Speaking with MTV, he seemed touched by the positive fan feedback he's gotten for his Tony Montana character, particularly within the hip-hop community.
"The hip-hop people and the rappers got together and they made a video and they talked about the movie. I don't think anybody's ever talked about it as articulately and clearly. I understood it better having heard them talk about it," Pacino explained. "They've been very supportive all these years. I think they've helped us tremendously."
He definitely has a point. For the past 25 years, rappers like Snoop Dogg, Nas, and Diddy have incorporated elements of Scarface into their songs. They even united back in 2003 for a special hip-hop documentary about the film.
But Al believes that Tony Montana's message can be applied to anyone. Sure he was a ruthless, drug-dealing villain, but at his core, he was just another guy trying to “make it” in America. Or at least that's how Pacino sees it.
"Man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for? That's a great expression, and I think that's Tony Montana," he went on to say. "Reaching for something he can't get but he keeps going. There is an element of hope in it, believe it or not."
Why do you think Scarface is still so popular? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.

Someone pass the Courvasier and caviar, because Pitbull is livin' at the height of hotel luxury in his new music video for "Hotel Room Service," the track that's burning up the charts (y las playas de Miami) right now.
Photographer Derick G was behind-the-scenes at the steamy music video shoot for "Hotel Room Service." If these pics don't make you wanna roll-naked-in-300-count-silk-hotel-sheets, we're not sure what will.
Someone say tanga? Pitbull breaks his composure at the sight of model "Feisty's" bello cuerpo.
Back in acción, el rapero continues throwing fly rhymes como siempre.
Pitbull, a master at mixin' hip-hop and house, featured samples from "Push The Feeling On" by dance banda Nightcrawlers in his new track. Take a listen to Pitbull's Hotel Room Service track on Rhapsody, then visit Hissip for more fotos from the behind-the-scenes shoot.

Earthquakes and forest fires don't even come close to the kind of destruction that is about to go down...

Word on the street is that lyrical masterminds Calle 13 and Eminem are about to join forces in the studio. Residente's poetically raw verses and Slim Shady's fast-pace, foul-mouthed rhymes are sure to rip the EXPLICIT label right off the cover. A collaboration this nasty simply can't be held-down by warning labels. Calle 13 have remained mum about details, but we hear that the duo are flying to Los Angeles this week to meet with the blanquito lyricist.
In regards to their style Calle 13 reveals:
Es diferente siempre, a nivel musical ha sido siempre diferente, la propuesta de los videos a nivel de concepto es diferente, en vivo somos diferentes, pero no es porque queramos ser tan diferentes, es porque nos gusta, lo que estamos haciendo nos gusta y sale diferente ya de por sí, osea no estamos tratando de imitar a nadie, como que sale así diferente naturalmente.
Different is an understatement. Locuras like being covered in donkeys or dancing with loose puppets is sure to be lukewarm in comparison! Don't say we never warned you. [MTV Tr3s Radio Noticias]

As if listening to Will Ferrell confessing to pee his pants while wearing a Ricky Martin t-shirt wasn't entertaining enough, we also experienced 50 Cent, Ludacris, and Kid Rock representing for the troops con estilo. Pero sin duda, the highlight of la noche was listening to Juanes rock his bilingual track "Odio Por Amor/Hate For Love." What show highlights had you singing for peace?
