Talk about life imitating art. Last month, Sara Ramirez was involved in a very high-profile "wedding" when her Grey’s Anatomy character Callie Torres married girlfriend Arizona Robbins. And now the 35-year-old actress is planning some nuptials of her own, with news that she'll be walking down the aisle with boyfriend Ryan Debolt.
Apparently Sara's longtime love popped the question while the two were vacationing in Paris. No "official" date has been set yet, but according to The Daily Mail, Ramirez' Grey’s castmates can't wait to attend the ceremony.
"Everyone was over the moon when they heard Sara had got engaged," a show insider said. "We all wish her well."
Interestingly, Sara has always been very tight-lipped about her personal life. And while we doubt she'll let photographers into her ultra-private wedding, we're still hopeful she could release an album of love songs to commemorate the whole affair.

After hearing her in the Grey’s Anatomy’s musical episode, we knew it was only a matter of time before Sara Ramirez officially kicked off her recording career. Already a veteran of the Broadway stage, Sara’s now branching out into soul, pop, and smooth ballads with a brand new EP on iTunes.
Samples of the four tracks on Sara Ramirez can currently be heard on Guanabee. Featuring titles like "Break My Heart," "Waitin," and "Eye To Eye," each song is entirely unique and does a great job of reflecting Sara’s broad vocal range.
Could this be a tease for a future full-length album to come? It wouldn’t surprise us. Ramirez was actually very shrewd about the timing of her iTunes mini album. Released alongside her primetime singalong, we’re sure it will attract plenty of Grey’s fans eager to hear more of Sara’s dynamite pipes.

There’s only a few more weeks left until Grey’s goes musical. Later this month, the medical drama will feature your favorite characters singing tracks made famous by the show. We got word about the episode in December, but now the first teaser of Tony Award-winning cast member Sara Ramirez has gone viral.
The :30 second promo contains all of the gurneys, ambulances and scrubs that you’re used to, but is backed up by a gorgeous rendition of Snow Patrol's “Chasing Cars,” sung by Ramirez. Fans of the series will recognize the song from the season two finale and Volume 2 of the Grey’s Anatomy soundtrack.
Ramirez delivers a beautiful interpretation of the tune. And with her Broadway track record, we imagine this is the first of many songs to come.
Buzz for Grey’s Anatomy: The Music Event (as the commercials are calling it) has been pretty positive, though some TV bloggers have wondered if this is an attempt to capitalize on the success of Glee. Can Sara outshine Mr. Schu’s class? Looks like we’ll have to wait until the episode’s premiere on March 31 to find out.

We love following actresses on the verge of stardom, and Valerie Cruz is one such actress. She's guested on True Blood, Nip/Tuck and countless other TV shows, but it's her role on the new ABC series Off the Map that's getting her the most buzz.
Instead of working in a fancy Seattle hospital or L.A. private practice, Off the Map doctors save lives deep in South America's Amazon rainforest. Valerie, born and bred in New Jersey, plays Zita Alvarez, a Latin American M.D. who no doubt butts heads with the team of American transplants looking to practice medicine on her turf.
ABC promises plenty of mysterious pasts, life-and-death moments and deep soul searching. And with Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes (one of the creative forces behind Grey's Anatomy) on board, you know it's going to be good.
And that's not all Valerie has to be excited about. The actress told Latina that she accepted a proposal from her boyfriend over the holidays.
"He's English and he's from London, so it's an interesting journey," Cruz told the magazine. "Cultural differences — they are definitely vast in some ways. But I think that Europeans in general have a more global view of the world because they are in such proximity to other countries that it enables them to travel and see other parts of the world."
Luckily, the bloke won't have to travel all the way to South America to visit his wife-to-be. Off the Map is currently filming in Hawaii.

Sure, we all know Sara Ramírez for her role as Callie Torres on Grey’s Anatomy. But did you know that before she joined the cast, she won a Tony Award for her Broadway performance in Spamalot? Well, now it looks like Sara will be flexing her vocal chords on an upcoming musical episode of the hit TV show.
Details are still under wraps, but Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes confirmed to TV Guide that the cast singalong is already in production.
“I've wanted to do a musical episode since the first day we started shooting Season 1," she said. "Now, we're in that place that we have the space to try it. Also, it's a period of time in which I finally have the right idea and the right talent to make that happen.”
Right talent, eh? Now that we know Sara moonlights as a Broadway star, we're sure Shonda was talking about her. She even dropped a hint about the potential plotline.
“It's definitely a Callie-heavy story, but it's a story that we would've told whether there was singing or not. It's always nice to have a Tony winner on deck to do a little singing.”
Many shows have tried musical episodes with mixed results. Buffy The Vampire Slayer seemed to pull it off, but Wilmer Valderrama’s disco number on That 70’s Show didn’t bode so well with the critics.
We'll certainly be rooting for Grey’s. After all, the show already released three pretty good soundtracks, which makes us think they know their music. TV Guide says the episode is set to air sometime later this season, and you can bet we’ll be pumping up the volume the second Dr. Torres hits the screen.

It appears that ABC's “Grey's Anatomy” creator, Shonda Rhimes, took the advice of cast member Sara Ramirez and applied it to her other baby: “Private Practice”.
Image : Private Practice
Ramirez felt that her character on Greys Anatomy (Callie) and her partner (Arizona) needed conflict in their relationship, preferably someone to pose as a threat to their loyalty. Although Callie's relationship may remain stable, Adison's (played by Kate Walsh) relationship to Sam (Taye Diggs) was certainly thrown a curve ball.
On Thursday's episode of Private Practice, the outrageously hot Cristian de la Fuente made a guest appearance as Dr. Rodriguez – the new oncologist – and has a disagreement with Addison about how to treat a newborn baby with a sizable cancerous tumor. Dr. Rodriguez feels that the baby is too young to have the tumor surgically removed, which is Addison's course of action, and believes that chemo is the best approach. Fuente's character exhibits an overwhelmingly calming sense of care and his passion for the well-being of the child almost knocks Addison off of her feet.
SPOILER ALERT: Ultimately, the parents decide to allow Addison to perform the surgery and the baby survives. Dr. Rodriguez congratulates Addison then asks her out on a date. Addison, who has a track record of infidelity, chooses to do the right thing for her relationship with Sam and turns down the offer. It was obvious that the decision was difficult.
We're hoping that Fuente becomes a regular on the show and if we have our way, Addison will have her work cut out for her! Her beau, played by Taye Diggs, is no slouch in the looks department but Fuente's charm and sex appeal could have even tempted Mother Theresa. Just saying

Season 7 of ABC's remarkable medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" is less than a month away. Die hard “Grey” fans were sent on a roller-coaster of emotions throughout the season 6 two-hour finale but were left yearning for more and anticipating how the next season is going to compare.

*SPOILER ALERT!* Allow us to rewind to the end of last season... (Look away if you're still catching up on Netflix!!)
Last season's two-part finale began with Gary Clark, the man who blames Dr. Derrick Shepherd (played by Patrick Dempsey) for the death of his wife, walking into the hospital with a vendetta to avenge his wife. He goes on a shooting spree, injuring and killing numerous doctors all while trying to find – and ultimately kill – Dr. Shepherd. Throughout the course of his hunt, we find out Meredith Grey is pregnant but ends up having a miscarriage at the end, main characters Alex, Derrick, and Owen are shot, Dr. Bailey breaks down and shows her emotional side, Christina save Derrick's life, and Callie and Arizona get back together.
*END SPOILERS!*

Will all that high-flying drama, how can season 7 compare, you ask? Sara Ramirez (Callie) has a few ideas of her own. She explained that although people may not be thrilled with the idea of Callie and Arizona's (Jessica Capshaw) relationship being thrown a few curve balls, she feels it was necessary for “good TV”.
In a recent interview with Latina magazine, Sara Ramirez said:
"It’s a touchy subject. I know that there are many fans out there that feel represented and they are hungry for a lesbian or gay couple that is not dysfunctional, that is healthy, grounded and happy. On the flipside, that could be really boring to watch!"
What better way to stir the pot than to bring in an antagonist to their relationship!
"I think [Callie and Arizona] need conflict. I think they should bring in somebody else to threaten the relationship, because that happens all of the time in real life. Whether people are straight or gay, you know, shit happens! Conflict happens. People aren’t happy all of the time."
We agree. The Latina beauty, who turned 35 years young today (August 31st) would turn heads in any Emergency Room, shopping mall, or bodega! Throwing in someone that would fight for her attention is not a stretch from what would happen in real life.
Whatever the case, we're excited to see what new docs will scrub into Seattle Grace as well as the fate of the relationships of those who are already etched in our hearts.
Will Izzy return? Will Christina marry Owen? Will Meredith tell Derrick about the pregnancy that once was? Series creator Shonda Rhimes has lots of questions to answer. We will definitely tune in and see! We can't wait!
Season 7's premiere episode “With You I'm Born Again" is set to air Thursday, September 23. Will YOU be watching? Tell us about your fave 'Grey's Anatomy' moment in the comments or @MTV3!
