Sure she had her issues, but there is no denying the talent of Amy Winehouse. And since her untimely passing last month, there have been a slew of tributes from her musical peers. Green Day wrote a song to her, tons of memorial concerts have been staged, and MTV has been talking about recognizing her at this weekend's Video Music Awards.
"We had a great history with Amy," VMA executive producer Amy Doyle told Billboard. "She was very near and dear to us.”
And there are plenty of more Amy updates in the news. Apparently her toxicology reports have been released and they show no signs of illegal substances in Winehouse's system at the time of her death.
Obviously that's comforting news for the family and can silence the naysayers who have been tainting her memory with overdose rumors. Amy's father Mitch spoke proudly of his daughter and her ability to defeat her demons before her passing.
"Three years ago, Amy conquered her drug dependency," he said. "The doctors said it was impossible, but she really did it. She was trying hard to deal with her drinking and had just completed three weeks of abstinence."
The full Winehouse inquest is set to be complete by October and you can look for more Amy tributes at the MTV VMAs this Sunday night.

The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were hosted by "SNL" alum and Late Night star Jimmy Fallon, and the first-time host definitely delivered! Kicking off the show with the cast of "Glee," Betty White, Tina Fey and more, Fallon's song and dance routine was a fun homage to the Emmy-nominated halls of McKinley High!
Fallon continued to punch up the Emmys telecast with digital and musical touches similar to those he often uses on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon." The comedian strapped on an acoustic guitar to introduce sizzle reels recapping the year in television and a few lucky Emmy fans on Twitter got some love when Fallon wove their comments into his intro for presenters.
Fallon also kept the audience in hysterics with a tribute to the TV dramas we lost over the past year. Manning a pink piano and sporting rose-colored glasses, à la Elton John, Fallon revamped the pop icon's "Candle in the Wind" to honor the canceled "24." Then, busting out his admirable quick-change skills, the comic donned a cardigan, switched up Boyz II Men's "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" and poured out a 40 to commemorate "Law & Order." Jimmy then sported a black emo getup and spiked hair like Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong for a version of "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" to honor "Lost."
Although low on scandalous, unscripted live-television moments, the telecast delivered spoofs on some of television's biggest hits. In one clip, the cast of "Modern Family" endures somewhat ridiculous suggestions on how to improve the show. Ideas included teaming up with animated Stewie from "Family Guy," shooting the show in 3-D and adding the dreamy George Clooney, who also received the night's Bob Hope Humanitarian Award.
While Sofia Vergara looked ultra sexy in 3-D, she unfortunately lost in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy category, but "Modern Family" did win 5 Emmys overall including Outstanding Comedy Series.
Which begs us to ask: Will Vergara keep her pre-Emmy promise and streak naked across L.A.'s Sunset Blvd? Back in July, Modern Family took out an ad in Variety magazine claiming, “If Modern Family wins the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy, Sofia Vergaga will run naked down Sunset Blvd.” Of course, the ad ran with a brief clause that claimed Vergara could be replaced by any cast member at any time. But, Sofia seemed game, claiming, “Listen, I’m not afraid of anything. I’m Colombian.”
After the win, however, Vergara jokingly told reporters that she'd already run nude.
“I did the run and I came back. Yes, I mean, I’m fast. I run fast. They zipped me and they sent me to do press."
We doubt that. But not to worry, Ed O'Neil, Sofia's on-screen hubby is more than willing to take her place! Something tells us, Vergara's sprint will be easier on the eyes!
Overall, the 2010 Emmy winners were fairly diverse last night. In fact, some of the 2010 Emmy winners were brand new, as the usual Emmy winners had somewhat of a hard time. Since new shows like Glee and Modern Family were paired against each other, there were bound to be a few winners most weren't familiar with like "Breaking Bad." Established shows like "30 Rock" and "Lost" had no luck, while "Mad Men" was largely shut out until the inevitable Best Drama victory. Overall, the 2010 Emmy winners were a mix of old and new - and some were even surprising picks.
For a full list of winners and losers, head on over to Emmys.com.

If you missed Los Premios MTV 2009 last night on MTV Tr3s and you're kicking yourself for it today, we really can't say we blame you... Between all the amazing multi-city performances from artists like Shakira, Alejandro Sanz, Cobra Starship with Paulina Rubio, and Fall Out Boy, to name a few, it's really hard to pinpoint which one thrilled us the most. Even host Nelly Furtado got down and kicked off the night with her own performance. And say what you may about her co-host, Residente Calle 13, no se puede negar que el hombre es honesto!
The night was filled with all kinds of celebs, from runway supermodels like Alessandra Ambrosio, young pop heartthrobs like Pee Wee, living legends like Morrissey, to teen icons like Ashley Tisdale. We even got word of the possible spark of a romance between Wilmer Valderrama and Audrina Patridge (eso dicen our backstage spies, pero ya veremos). MTV Tr3s filled two of the Los Premios categories by awarding Aventura with Best MTV Tr3s Artist, and Da'Zoo as Best New MTV Tr3s Artist. But the biggest ganadores of the night were undoubtedly Wisin y Yandel, Panda, and the fashionably intriguing Lady Gaga, who all took home multiple "lenguas."
Wisin y Yandel won awards for "Vidéo del Año" and "Artista del Año"
Panda took home trés Premios for "Mejor Grupo o Dúo," "Mejor Artista Alternativo," and "Mejor Artista Norte"
Lady Gaga was awarded two "tongues" for "Mejor Artista Nuevo Internacional" and "Canción del Año"
Check out more photos of Los Premios MTV 2009 Onstage Highlights aquí, and click after the jump to see all of the night's big winners. You can tune in to MTV Tr3s on Saturday 10/17 at 2pm and 8pm to watch all the Los Premios mayhem go down again!
Felicidades a todos, it's well deserved!

The 2009 VMAs was chock full of good music, juicy drama and out-of-this-world fashion.
Janet Jackson's tributo a su hermano, Michael, was not only a really heartfelt memorial, but also featured some of the most renowned choreography in the history of MJ's illustrious career, with recreations of "Thriller," "Bad," "Smooth Criminal," and "Scream." Lady Gaga’s performance was aún más loca de lo que esperábamos with its bloody grand finale, and Jay-Z and Alicia Keys closed the show with a hoppin' rendition of "Empire State of Mind." In between there were performances by Beyoncé, Green Day, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry -- as well as Wale and the numerous artists (como Pitbull! Latinos represent!) that joined him as the VMA house band. Pink had arguably one of the best shows of the night when she performed from a flying trapeze!
Host Russell Brand kept the dirty jokes flying, Pop Queen Madonna paid tribute to the late King of Pop, and Kanye West did his best to steal the show but was promptly escorted out of the venue for another awards show outburst. No nos sorprendió mucho! Lady Gaga wowed with her ever-inventive vestuario, and even the Twilight cast showed up to show off the drama-filled trailer for 'New Moon.'
While Wisin y Yandel didn’t win for "Best Pop Video," Latin artists were definitely in the house! Pitbull and Wale performed a hip-hop go-go version of "I Know You Want Me," and Mr. 305 made sure to give a big shout-out to all the Latinos! Also representing at the show were Shakira, JLo and hubby Marc Anthony, "Blaxican" Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, and honorary Latina Nelly Furtado who gave el Dúo Dinámico a nod during her presenter's speech.
So what did you guys think about this year's VMAs? Did it meet or exceed your expectations?

Ring the alarm, porque the VMAs just got hotter! Beyoncé, who is tied with fellow performer Lady Gaga for the most nominations este año, has just been added as a performer to the already star-studded show!
La cantante will be flexing more than just her vocal muscles with a dance-heavy performance of her latest canción, "Sweet Dreams." Beyoncé joins hubby Jay-Z, P!nk, Green Day, and Lady Gaga, among others who are set to blow our minds at this year's MTV Video Music Awards in NY.
Also announced today was the addition of a house band, emceed by hip-hop newcomer Wale. El rapero has collaborated with artists such as Cuban rapper Pitbull, Lady Gaga and the All-American Rejects on his upcoming debut album, Attention Deficit, due out on October 20th.

Thought that the Wisin y Yandel nomination for Best Pop Video was the most exciting thing that could happen to the VMAs? Look out, porque los VMAs just keep getting más y más emocionantes! Just added to the list of performers are hip-hop mogul Jay-Z and avantgarde pop princesa Lady Gaga!
With a total of 9 nominations for "Poker Face" and "Paparazzi," Lady Gaga, along with Jay-Z's bella esposa Beyoncé, is the one to beat at los VMAs este año. About getting to perform at the VMAs, Lady Gaga had this to say:
I'm simply gutted to be both a performer and nominee at the 2009 VMAs. In fact, I'm so happy, I could die.
Qué dramática! Pero, de veras, did we really expect anything else from this over-the-top cantante? Personally, we can't wait to see que locuras she'll be doing (and wearing!) onstage!
Jay-Z, quien está nominado para Best Hip-Hop Video y Best Male Video, will also be hitting the VMA stage in style. Su nuevo album, The Blueprint 3, is due to drop on September 11, just two days before the VMAs.
Also announced today are three additional presenters: "Manos Al Aire" cantante Nelly Furtado, Miranda Cosgrove of iCarly fama, and "Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester, who was last seen partying it up en el más reciente video de Cobra Starship.

If you thought having Russell Brand emcee the VMAs would be sufficient controversy for post-show water cooler convo, think again.
The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards just got more interesting after today's announcement that bad-ass singer P!nk and punk rockers Green Day would perform. Green Day will treat the VMA crowd to a single off of their new relase 21st Century Breakdown. P!nk will bring some much-needed "Bad Influence" to the show by performing a tune from Funhouse, most likely in dominatrix-inspired lingerie. P!nk and Green Day will be joining Muse and Taylor Swift on stage as headliners.
About reprising her 2008 VMA role, Pink told MTV News:
Last year, I got to jump out of a window at the VMAs in L.A...This year, I can't wait to blow the roof off Radio City in New York.
En otras noticias VMAs, the first round of celebrity presenters was announced, including Katy Perry (you can already hear the blogs buzzing), Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford, and Ne-Yo.
The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards will take place September 13 at 9 pm ET. Stay plugged into Blogamole for VMA news including nominee, performer and presenter updates.
