It's been quite an eventful few days. This past weekend, there were Hanukkah candles, Christmas parties, and Kwanzaa celebrations in full force around the world. And in good old La La Land, plenty of our favorite celebs made sure to kick off the festivities too.
Justin Bieber pulled out all the stops and surprised a childhood friend in Canada with his gift: a Ford Mustang convertible.
Hanukkah (which started last week) proved to be quite a popular topic among Hollywood Tweeters.
Bieber also made a point to issue Hanukkah shout outs to several of his Jewish friends.
"Happy Hanukkah @dankanter @yaelkanter @allisonkaye @carinmb @scooterbraun," he wrote.
Private Practice’s Taye Diggs posted:
"Yo! Wishing all of my funky fresh Jewish folks Happy Chanukah!!! Light it up, y'all! (the menorah)".
And Ryan Seacrest confessed his love for Jewish food during the "Eight Crazy Nights."
"I'm not Jewish but the dinner menus tonight makes me wish I were! Happy Hanukkah to all u guys celebrating," he posted.
Christmas happened to fall on a Sunday, but the night before stirred up a ton of celebrity Twitpix. Alyssa Milano posted an adorable snap of her baby son Milo in a Santa Claus outfit. And, as expected, the Kardashian clan made their holiday presence known too. Kourtney’s son Mason posed alongside Uncle Rob and Kylie Jenner for a very cute instagram portrait.
"Wanna tweet a pic of @RobKardashian in his holiday pajama's!" big sister Kim Tweeted. "But he won't let me! Our fam pj's this year are so cute! We all look like Santa."
Snooki made sure her Twitter fans got some holiday love too. Posing alongside her boyfriend Jionni, the Jersey Shore star joyfully posted,
"My baby at the end of Christmas! We're still celebratin!"
Of course, if you were really eager to stargaze on Christmas, all you had to do was buy a ticket to the L.A. Laker home game opener. Over at SoCal's Staples Center, stars like Kanye West, Adam Levine, Wilmer Valderrama, and George Lopez showed their support for the yellow and gold. Not surprisingly, Vanessa "soon-to-be-ex-Mrs." Bryant made sure to skip that event.
Yesterday, the festivities just kept on coming with the annual celebration of Kwanzaa. The African holiday has gained quite a bit of traction among celebrities, with stars like Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou, and Angelina Jolie honoring its importance in years' past.
This weekend, Tyra Banks made sure to give the holiday a shout out, lumping it in with all of the other big events of the season.
"Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa! However u celebrate, hope u’re having a #FIERCE holiday fam!" she Tweeted.
We’re definitely in support of that notion. And we’re certain this weekend's new year's parties will provide plenty more creative celebrity tweets.

It sure looks like President Barack Obama made the most of his recent visit to Los Angeles. Not only did he get to enjoy the signature flavors of Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles, he got to mingle with stars like Antonio Banderas, Eva Longoria, and George Lopez!
Banderas even so far as to host the Prez at his private home. Monday night, Antonio and his wife Melanie Griffith welcomed Obama for a private event. Catering mostly to Latino fundraisers, the affair attracted over 120 guests at $5,000 a ticket.
Lopez and Longoria were spotted shaking hands with Barack, as was L.A.'s Mexican-American mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa. Hoping to stir up Hispanic support for his 2012 re-election, Obama pledged to fight for immigrant rights and fix the economic crisis.
And proving that he could still connect with the public at large, the President hit up Jay Leno's Tonight Show too. While there, he touched on important issues like the death of Moammar Gadhafi, the withdrawal of troops from Iraq, and what candies his wife plans to hand out on Halloween.

We knew it would only be a matter of time before George Lopez popped up on the small screen again. And just two months after his Lopez Tonight show went off the air, G. Lo is plotting a comeback. According to reports, the comic is working on a brand new TV sitcom.
George told the Associated Press that he was very excited about the project and currently developing it with a team of writers. He also spoke out about the Lopez Tonight cancellation, saying he was "heartbroken" that TBS pulled the plug.
In addition to the sitcom, Lopez announced plans for an all-new HBO Comedy Special. Add to that film projects like The Smurfs 2 and the Carnival Cruise Lines gig and you've got a whole lotta Lopez lined up for the next year.
Of course, we're most curious about the new series. So far very few details have been released about the premise, other than the fact that he'll have a sexy new wife. We're thinking, with the end of Desperate Housewives on the horizon, why not cast best buddy Eva Longoria as the new sitcom Mrs.?

Yes, we're a little bummed that Hispanic Heritage Month has now wound down. But with the end of one 30-day commemoration, comes 30 more days of another. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is now in full swing and several high-profile Latinos showed their support for the cause at Las Vegas' PADRES Contra El Cancer event this past weekend.
Hosted by the very charitable Eva Longoria, PADRES brought out stars like George Lopez and Edward James Olmos (just to name a few). Make It Or Break It lead Josie Loren caught the eye of quite a few fashion blogs with her sexy red dress.
Tweeting about the gala, she said,
"Boarding my flight 2 vegas 4 a special trip 2 attend the PADRES annual gala! We work tirelessly to fight childhood cancer and now we get to have some fun and raise lots of money for this wonderful cause!"
The event actually had some huge corporations behind it. Companies like Verizon and AEG contributed to the evening's festivities, which included the opportunity to play Texas Hold 'Em with some big name celebs.
But it was Eva who proved to be the true belle of the ball. She hosted an exclusive afterparty at the Tropicana's Club Nikki. The night reportedly included top Vegas DJs and free-flowing cocktails (though sadly, no burlesque transvestites).

Are you ready for "Fun Ship 2.0?" Carnival Cruise Lines made some major announcements today about their latest luxury liner. Not only will it feature a whole host of new amenities, it'll have a special comedy club designed by George Lopez!
Carnival has named Lopez its Creative Director of Comedy, which actually sounds like a pretty cool gig. In the new role, he will manage the Fun Ship's Punchliner Comedy Club. Everything from the lighting, to the music, to the hiring of the talent will be managed by George.
And just in case you needed any more reasons to book your cruise tickets, check this out. The Food Network’s Guy Fieri will also lend his name to the project, overseeing a custom Burger Joint located just outside the pool.
Other new additions include redesigned cocktail bars, an EA videogame lounge, Broadway shows, and tons more. Carnival is spending over $500 million on its new Fun Ship venture, which means the Daddy Yankee Cruise may be in for some stiff competition.

After a one year hiatus, the ALMA Awards were back in full swing this weekend as Demi Lovato, Pitbull, and Jessica Alba graced the red carpet. Held at L.A.'s Civic Auditorium, the event honored quite a few Tr3s faves for their contributions to the entertainment realm.
We, for one, love the fact that the ALMA nominee list is so diverse. Where else would you see Rico Rodriguez nominated for his Modern Family role? (Which he won by the way.) Sure the Emmys have the glitz and glam, but the ALMAs always pack an emotional punch.
One big moment happened when Demi Lovato accepted her award for Favorite Leading Actress In A TV Comedy. Stepping up in a shimmering tan gown, the Sonny With A Chance star graciously thanked the audience and sent out some very excited tweets.
"YAYYYY!!!! I can't believe it!!! Thank you guys so much!!!!! #ALMAwards," she posted.
Other TV stars who received ALMAs were CSI: Miami’s Adam Rodriguez, Cote de Pablo from NCIS and Selena Gomez' Wizards of Waverly Place mom Maria Canalis. George Lopez, who co-hosted the event with Eva Longoria, got some big applause as well when he nabbed Favorite TV Reality Star for his now-defunct Lopez Tonight series.
Prior to the big night, Lopez posted a very funny dressing room Twitpic of himself drinking a bottle of Don Julio.
On the music side of things, Glee's Naya Rivera won for Favorite Female Music Artist, while Pitbull scored yet another award as the night's Favorite Male Music Artist.
But perhaps the ALMA we're most happy about is the one that was handed out for Favorite Movie. The moving drama A Better Life took home top honors (and deservedly so) for its strong Latino message.
Of course, there are plenty more memorable moments of the night that are yet to be revealed. But we won't have to wait long to see them. NBC is broadcasting the event this Friday night.

Talk about a shocker. After a blitz of hype surrounding the Conan O'Brien move and tons of memorable guests, TBS announced this week that it was abruptly cancelling the George Lopez talk show, Lopez Tonight. And though the series only aired for two years, it gave us plenty of memorable moments.
One of its more recent comedy bits has proven to be the most popular. Shortly after the Schwarzenegger scandal broke, George capitalized on his "resemblance" to Arnold’s mistress, Mildred Baena. Donning a blonde wig and a pink sweatshirt, Lopez had the audience rolling with jokes about the disgraced Governator.
The Lopez Tonight set also built a reputation for being very loose and fun. Typically guests on George's couch would be much more candid than on a network talker like The Tonight Show. Cameron Diaz, for one, opened up about buying pot from Snoop Dogg as a high schooler! Selena Gomez was also a big Lopez fave and often broke major stories on the show.
On the musical front, Lopez Tonight definitely had its share of over-the-top performances. Last December, Nikki Minaj brought the house down with her bumping vocals and her bumping booty! At least that's how George put it at the time.
"You have magical powers in your posterior," Lopez jokingly said after Minaj belted out a live version of "Moment 4 Life."
Of course, George had his chisme moments too. Dancing With The Stars fans will definitely remember the time he said that contestant Kirstie Alley had "hooves." Obviously that did not go well in the Twitterverse, though all was eventually forgiven.
But right now, Lopez does not seem to be in a very forgiving mood. Though his cancellation was officially blamed on ratings, he was quick to throw jabs at TBS, claiming race may have played a factor.
Jokingly referring to his Smurfs character, he said,
"So today I lost some work because I'm brown, but I got some work because I'm blue!"

You've got to hand it to Piers Morgan, he certainly knows how to get a guest to open up. Tr3s fave George Lopez happened to be on his CNN talk show this week and spoke very candidly about his past, his present, and his views on politics.
Delving into his younger years, Lopez spoke very fondly about his dearly departed grandmother. He explained how she had raised him from the age of 10 and played a very important role in his upbringing.
"She was the one that, whether good or bad, I loved the most," a teary George explained. "I wish that I would've told her that there was nobody that loved her or would have protected her more than me."
Of course knowing Lopez, things didn't stay on a sad note for long. George quickly lightened the mood by taking jabs at controversial politician Sarah Palin. When asked what he would do if she were elected President, he said,
"I would move to Canada! I like my politicians to actually have a political background."
One other interesting topic that Piers got Lopez to discuss was his ex-wife Ann Serrano. As you may recall, George went through a bitter divorce last year after 17 years of marriage. Speaking fondly about their relationship, he concluded,
"I was fortunate enough to be married to her for 17 years. And as marriages go, it was fun. We used to look at each other and laugh, and we had nothing when we started. So it was a great period."

Good news ALMA Awards fans, the Latino gala is coming back after a year hiatus. And better yet, its founders, the National Council of La Raza, have announced that Eva Longoria and George Lopez have both signed on to host!
"This is an important show for our community," said NCLR spokesperson Delia Delavera. "We got a lot of comments from people about how excited they were to see George and Eva co-hosting."
Scoring Lopez and Longoria is a major coup for the ALMAS. As we all know, Eva is one of the most in-demand stars on TV and she may even bring along her boyfriend's famous family. George is also an entertainment powerhouse and will certainly add a lot of energy and humor to the event.
Unfortunately, the 2010 ALMAs had to be scrapped because of scheduling and broadcast issues. But now it looks like the ceremony is coming back in a major way, with a key timeslot on NBC.
Though the actual nominees have yet to be announced, we're expecting plenty of famous faces getting added to the roster. The ALMAS honor Latinos in television, film, and music, so expect a dynamite show this September 16th!

Mexico pulled off a come-from-behind victory against USA (4-2) to win the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup championship Saturday marking Mexico's sixth overall Gold Cup title and celebrities didn't miss a beat supporting "El Tri" via Twitter.
The match was filled with exciting displays of athleticism as USA scored the first two goals but Mexico's Pablo Barrea answered with two of his own and Andres Guardado and Giovani Dos Santos contributed a goal each. More than 93,000 fans were in attendance.
George Lopez left no room for doubt about who he was rooting for:
"Mexico Mexico Mexico !!! #Goldcup"
Telenovela heartthrob Kuno Becker also made his allegiance crystal clear:
"Wooooooooooow. Que golazoooooooooooo de Giovani!!!!!!!!!! Viva Mexicooo!!!!"
Despite a fan's inquiry, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez didn't quite commit but hoped to see a good match:
"Hope 4 hi scoring match! RT @KingKmeczik: I wonder who @Mark_Sanchez is cheering for today.. usa or mexico.. either way the man can't lose"
Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya, like many, was on the fence about which team to cheer for:
"I'm going back and fourth with the soccer game and the fights." He went on to tweet, "Que bien el partido de fútbol usa Vs México tengo el corazón partido por la mitad."
Of course when one team cheers the other team jeers. USA winger Landon Donovan took to Twitter to express his disappointment:
"Still bummed about our loss, time for next season. The past is meant to be left behind"
Congratulations to Mexico's on their second consecutive Gold Cup Title!!
Who were you cheering for?
