New momma Jessica Simpson is known for her singing as well as her style. It's only natural the fashionista would want to extend her personal style and sense of fashion to her newborn daughter's room decor.

Simpson recently revealed her plans for the baby's nursery, saying she was planning to decorate it with a bohemian theme. Jessica's newborn daughter, Maxwell Drew, had a custom designed nursery fit specifically to her mother's taste.

The nursery designer commented,

"Jessica is very pretty and feminine, but she didn't want this to be over-the-top frilly. The words she used were 'gypsy' and 'bohemian', so we brought in lavenders and mauves with a bit of pink and aqua."

Before you start thinking Jessica became some sort of new Momzilla, making demands on the poor decorator and making her come up with impossible specifications, Jess was far from annoying. She was even open to hubby Eric Johnson's input, asking him what he thought of the nursery decisions from time to time.

The decorator said,

"They were probably the most un-neurotic people I've ever known. Jessica wanted [the nursery] to be cozy and cute, and she was very respectful of Eric, asking, 'Do you like this?' And he was nicely opinionated."

In fact, the nursery designer had nothing but wonderful things to say after working with Simpson and was especially appreciative of Jessica's ability to communicate her vision without making it too complicated. Way to go, Jess. Work that fashion sense. Way to make motherhood chic.

Do you think Jessica Simpson has a great sense of style?

Judging by her recent Elle cover, Jessica Simpson may pop any day now. But the proud mom-to-be did enjoy one last outing before the big day, specifically a lavish baby shower thrown by her celebrity friends.

Little sister Ashlee certainly played a big role in the event, as did famed party planner Mindy Weiss. And Simpson's guest list read like a who's who of famous moms. Grey’ Anatomy’s Ellen Pompeo made an appearance, as did Tr3 fave Jessica Alba (who brought along daughters Honor and Haven).

"It was a kid-friendly shower with many of her friends bringing babies," a source told Us Weekly. "Jessica [Alba] brought her baby Haven and Ashlee brought Bronx. She received tons of gifts mostly wrapped in pink gift wrap and boxes."

The pink gift wrap had to do with the fact that Jessica is expecting a baby girl. Though she and fiancée Eric Johnson haven't publicly revealed the name yet, the rumor is that she'll be called Maxi. Simpson emphasized that fact by wearing an "M" pendant (and a lizard-skinned dress) to the festivities.

Notice a lot of green on the streets this past Saturday? In case you were unaware, March 17 is one of the biggest party days ever for Irish-Americans (and Irish-American celebs!). And this year was no different, as a ton of famous faces shared their love for dear old St. Patrick!

Proud lass Lindsay Lohan was quick to hit the Twitterverse, posting to her fans,

"HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!!! *luck of the irish*"

Fellow Emerald Isle descendant Conan O’Brien kept the spirit upbeat with his Saturday Tweet.

"Any good will the Irish earn during the year, they squander it all on St. Patrick's Day."

Russell Brand (who could use some luck of the Irish at the moment) sent out a funny note to everyone grabbing for their beer bottles.

"Happy St Patrick's Day to all my Irish friends and undiagnosed alcoholics," he wrote.

Even proud Latina Jessica Alba got into the Irish spirit, posting a Twitpic of her daughter Haven dressed up like the Lucky Charms mascot.

"Happy St. Paddy's Day everyone!" she wrote.

And when it came to wearing green, several celebs were more than eager to show their festive side. A very pregnant Jessica Simpson cruised Venice beach with an emerald purse and leprechaun-inspired boots. Her NFL fiancée, Eric Johnson, got plenty of attention too in his Boston Celtics style garb.

Vanessa Hudgens was also spotted sporting green, arm-in-arm with her new steady Austin Butler. But no one could top Black Eyed Peas vet Fergie, who wore flaming emerald shoes to a Saturday night launch party for BCBG. Her hubby Josh Duhamel kept the spirit alive too, with his lime-colored polo shirt (and newly buzzed mohawk!).

"Happy St. Patrick’s Day lovers!!!!" Fergie proudly Tweeted from the event.

Perhaps the most noteworthy St. Paddy’s Day appearance came from the Commander-in-Chief. Yup, President Barack Obama (who's part-Irish) was seen chugging a pint of Guinness at a local Washington pub. Keeping with the spirit, he also had his staff dye the water green at one of the White House fountains.

Way to show that pride Mr. Prez!

Mom jeans-wearing Jessica Simpson will be paid 3 million dollars to lose weight. Jessica is still pregnant with Eric Johnson's baby, but plans to return to her sexy figure after the pregnancy, ASAP.

Simpson will join the ranks of female celebrities, among Jennifer Hudson and Mariah Carey, who have been paid to be spokeswomen for dieting enterprises. She was approached by several diet companies, but finally decided on signing with Weight Watchers in order to lose her baby weight.

In the meantime, Jessica is enjoying her pregnancy as much as she can. She has not only developed cravings for peanut butter and jelly on toast, but for taking on interesting eating methods as well. She enjoys shaking salt on her hand before biting into sandwiches, like she is about to chug them back like a shot of tequila.

Although being pregnant has made her emotional and has given her quite the odd food cravings, Simpson is proud of her upcoming motherhood. After she gives birth, she will promptly begin her dieting regime in order to get in shape for her upcoming wedding to the football star, and making a pretty penny in the process.

How long do you think it will take Jessica Simpson to get back to her sexy Dukes of Hazzard shape?

You've got to hand it to Jessica Simpson and Jessica Alba, they definitely have good taste in men. Both of the actresses' steadies are graduates of Yale and the two couples united this past weekend at a university alumni event.

Known as one the country's premier colleges, Yale was founded back in 1701 and has produced some very notable graduates. U.S. Presidents William Taft, Gerald Ford, and Bill Clinton are all alumni, as our both George H.W. and George W. Bush. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor also earned her degree from the notable university.

Cash Warren (Alba's hubby) and Eric Johnson (Simpson's fiancée) were both part of the Class of 2001 and returned to the Connecticut campus to attend their 10-year reunion. During their years as students, Cash majored in political science and Eric was a popular wide receiver for the football team.

But at the alumni event, it was their famous ladies that attracted the most attention. Several sites snapped pictures of the two Jessicas together and both of them sent out plenty of Yale-related tweets over the weekend.

"Anyone snuck onto the 50 yd line of the Yale Bowl recently?" Simpson posted.

"Yale security :)" Alba wrote with a twitpic.

It's the ultimate race to the altar! Just a week after we toasted to news of Nick Lachey's engagement to longtime girlfriend and MTV veteran Vanessa Minnillo, it seems Jessica Simpson has her own reason to celebrate. Simpson's free agent NFL player boyfriend Eric Johnson popped the question this weekend!

Images : Getty Images

The couple began dating in May, after being introduced by friends, and have been spotted together across the U.S. and abroad, even celebrating her 30th birthday in Italy.

Timing of the proposal aside, a source told People.com that Johnson:

"had been planning the engagement for awhile and the date of the engagement was a special date for them."

While Simpson's engagement comes as quite a surprise, 6 months and all, Lachey took his time - four years to be exact - before deciding to tie the knot again.

The impending marriages come five years after Jess and Nick split after three years of marriage in 2005. Simpson, 30, and Lachey, 37, wed in an elaborate ceremony in 2002.

While the rumor mill circulated with news of Jessica's devastation after learning of Nick's engagement, both parties have respectively sent their will wishes to one another.

Jessica stating last week:

"I am extremely, extremely happy for him. I couldn't be more happy for Nick."

While Nick weighed in yesterday:

"I will say the same thing I always say: I wish her the very best."

We couldn't be more happy for both couples and can't wait to see who makes it to the altar first!

Leave your well wishes for Nick and Vanessa, or Jessica and Eric in the comments, or @MTV3.
