The "People" have spoken and it seems they love Demi Lovato. The part-Mexican starlet proved to be the belle of the ball at last night's People's Choice Awards, taking home Best Pop Artist and delivering a powerhouse performance of "Give Your Heart A Break."
But Lovato wasn't the only one the crowds went nuts for. Robert Pattinson, Lea Michelle, and Emma Stone made a major mark as well.
In the movie department, the Choice was clearly Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. The final Hogwarts installment nabbed Favorite Movie, Favorite Action Movie, and Favorite Ensemble Cast. Johnny Depp (who skipped the ceremony) made a big mark as well, earning Favorite Action Movie Star and Favorite Animated Movie Voice for Rango.
Other winners from the big screen included Ryan Reynolds for his work in Green Lantern and Hugh Jackman for Real Steel. The box office smash Bridesmaids earned the title of Favorite Comedy Movie and Morgan Freeman took home Favorite Movie Icon.
On the TV side of things, How I Met Your Mother got plenty love, first for Favorite Comedy and then for Favorite Actor (which went to Neil Patrick Harris).
Betty White was on hand to accept a Favorite Cable TV Comedy award for her show Hot In Cleveland and Jimmy Fallon earned the title of Favorite Late Night TV Host.
In the reality realm, American Idol beat out The Voice for Favorite TV Competition Show. And not surprisingly, Kim Kardashian earned the title of Favorite TV Celebreality Star (though some in the crowd weren't too happy about that).
In the world of music, Katy Perry scored four awards for Favorite Song ("E.T."), Favorite Video, Favorite Female Artist, and Favorite Tour Headliner. That would have been quite an accomplishment for the pop songstress…if she decided to show. But seeing how Katy’s going through a painful divorce, she chose to bail on the festivities.
Tr3s fave Bruno Mars earned the title of Favorite Male Artist. And though he didn't get up on the stage, he let his fans know that was eternally grateful for the honor.
"I'm currently walking down the street screaming "I am an ultimate male"!! Thank you at @peopleschoice and to those that voted! #hooligans" he tweeted.
And, as per usual, there was plenty of high fashion in effect last night too. Miley Cyrus wowed the crowd with a chique revealing white dress. Vanessa Hudgens chose the glam route, bedazzling herself in a gold and black ensemble. And hostess Kaley Cuoco strutted very elegantly across the red carpet in a shimmering cream-colored gown.

You've got to admire Demi Lovato's honesty. The "Skyscraper" singer seemed to hold nothing back in her latest interview, discussing her battles with drugs, her drinking days, and her roller coaster relationship with Miley Cyrus.
"I'm not gonna lie. I was self-medicating," Lovato recently said. "I was doing things like drinking and using [drugs], like a lot of teens do to numb their pain. (But now) I don't drink, I don't do drugs, I don't throw up after my meals, I don't starve myself. There's nothing that I do that I feel ashamed of."
Clearly spending time in that rehabilitation clinic helped Demi slay those demons. And since she checked out last February, her career has been on a meteoric rise. Lovato's released successful music singles, delivered powerhouse live performances, and proven to be a solid role model for teenage girls.
Demi’s also learned to take the high road when it comes to her famous pals. Recently fellow Disney tween queen Miley Cyrus posted a video that mocked her and BFF Selena Gomez. Lovato explained that she's forgiven Cyrus for the incident and still considers her a friend.
"(Miley) and I are strong headed," she explained. "When we fight it's brutal and we're like, 'We're never going to be friends again!' Then two days later, were like, 'I love you and I miss you!'"

2011 certainly delivered some memorable music. But with so many artists to choose from (and so many music reviewers on the internet), Billboard decided to mix things up for their end-of-the-year list. Not only did they issue a "Critics Best Of," they posted Favorite Album Top 10s from a variety of artists and celebrities.
Kelly Clarkson, Joe Jonas, Zac Brown, and Demi Lovato all put Adele's 21 on the top of their 2011 Albums list. Clarkson, in particular, gushed over the 23-year-old British soul singer, calling her music, "beautiful."
"Adele never fails," she went on to say. "Her voice, lyrics and melodies on this record are haunting reminders of the need to be needed and loved, and to love with your whole heart. It's beautiful!"
Ironically, Lovato bestowed quite a bit of praise on Kelly, listing her "Stronger" as #2 on her Favorites list. Demi went on to add Watch The Throne, Born This Way, and Miranda Lambert’s For The Record to her Top 5.
Joe Jonas shared similar tastes, also ranking Watch The Throne as one of the best records of the year. His personal faves included The Roots' Undun and Torches from Foster of the People. Sara Barielles had an eclectic mix of albums on her list, throwing in 2011 recordings from artists like Paul Simon, Feist, and The Civil Wars.
Interestingly, not a lot of Latinos were present on any of the lists. Only Bruno Mars' Doo Wops & Hooligans made a dent, particularly with The Wonder Girls. They cited it as a major influence on their writing style, along with Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream.
Now as far as the official critics go, the greatest album of 2011 was….(you guessed it) Adele’s 21. Nearly all of Billboard’s editors put it on the top of their lists. But the rest of their picks proved to be quite interesting.
Coming in at #2 was the sophomore album from Bon Iver. The Wisconson band's indie folk record struck a chord with a lot of music critics this year, particularly for its bold use of horns and string arrangements. Watch The Throne earned high marks as well, as did Drake’s latest effort, Take Care.
Newer artists like Frank Ocean, James Blake, and Florence & The Machine got quite a lot of love too. The Billboard site actually breaks down each of the selections quite vividly, enticing fans to discover some of the year's lesser known artists. It's definitely worth a look, especially if you want relatives to add iTunes dollars under your Christmas tree.

Forget presents under the tree, Demi Lovato did a genuine good deed this holiday season when she visited her old rehab facility and offered up inspirational advice. Speaking about the experience on Twitter, Lovato seemed quite touched by the girls she encountered during her visit.
"Today I went back to the treatment center I went to last year to speak to the beautiful women fighting their inner demons," she posted. "To be able to share my story and let them know that it gets easier. Life is beautiful.... You are worthy of it."
Since her exit from the facility last January, Demi has been picking up quite a bit of upward momentum. She launched a successful new single, wowed fans with her live performance at the Latin Grammys, and even sang at the MLB World Series.
Despite her constantly busy schedule, Lovato made sure there was time to return back to the rehab clinic. Though she described her stay there as "the darkest period" of her life, it's clear that Demi has grown stronger from the experience and should have a very bright new year ahead.

Wedding season may be over, but Demi Lovato is still catching bouquets and making out with Wilmer Valderrama!
Although the "Skyscraper" singer has been trying to keep the heated romance low key, the new-again couple attended actress Tiffany Thornton's wedding this past week. Lovato served as a bridesmaid and wore a purple mini-dress designed by Max Azira. Photographers captured Demi and Wilmer kissing and hugging after she caught the bouquet during the reception.
She later tweeted:
"PS...Guess who caught the bouquet...ME!
We are happy to see Demi so happy after having a rough year. We give this couple our approval. Do you?

The beautiful and talented Demi Lovato graced the cover of Latina Magazine for their December issue.
Demi opens up and talks about her struggles she had last year and says:
"I thought I was going to lose everything when I checked myself into treatment. I didn’t know if I would have a career at all when I came home. So it really hit me – I hadn’t been grateful."
“In that sense, I can honestly say I’m glad I hit rock bottom when I did. Most people don’t have those moments. I see a lot of young people in this industry who feel entitled because they haven’t hit rock bottom yet. I feel blessed when I get an opportunity now.”
I'm happy that Demi is in a much better place and she also has a gorgeous boyfriend... you might have heard of him, Wilmer Valderrama!!! Check out the magazine when it hits stands on November 15th!

There were several phenomenal performers that shone on the Latin Grammys stage at last night. Sie7e's 'Yo Tengo Tu Love' was a huge sensation with the crowd, while Pepe Aguilar brought his mariachi band for a full-on Mexican performance during the latter half of the Latin Grammys.
Shakira made it snow at this year's Latin Grammys with a subtle shower of glitter during her long-awaited performance. She brought the winter wonderland to Las Vegas, wearing a sparkly fitted dress with a loose peaches and cream skirt. The cherry blossom trees decorating the stage gave her act a fairytale quality, and her soft vocals lent an eerie dreamy quality to her song.
I guess the theme was precipitation this year, because Maná also made it rain on stage while they played 'Lluvia Al Corazon.' More rain is forecast to come later in the evening, during Marc Anthony and Pitbull's performance. Stay tuned.
The Colombian songstress did an encore performance later on that evening after they announced her much-deserved honor for person of the year. Her humanitarian efforts were highlighted in a comprehensive video montage right before she took the stage for a second time.
Shakira then proceeded to serenade us with some Steven Tyler-inspired moves, complete with scarves on the microphone stand and all. She then took her red jacket off and proceeded to rock the house to 'Loca,' with her amazing voice and hypnotic dance moves.
Demi Lovato was a big hit with her duet with Pablo Alborán, singing "Solamente Tú." I don't think many people are used to her singing in Spanish, but she proved she could hold her own. Her voice sounded amazing.
Mark Anthony’s performance with Pitbull for 'Rain Over Me' was very dynamic, and the chorus line of dancers behind them made it a great act. Half the dancers were getting rained on, while the other half re-enacted a number that seemed straight from the Broadway hit Chicago, complete with chair dances and all. These two Latinos sure know how to work a crowd!

Just remember, we warned you about following our Latin Grammy predictions. Yes, most of our picks didn't come true. But that doesn't mean that every winner of the night didn't deserve their statuettes. Far to the contrary, particularly in the case of Calle 13. The Puerto Rican duo put out an incredible album last year and it's clear the Latin Grammy voters were listening.
Believe it or not, Calle 13 took home nine awards at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Thursday night, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Tropical Song, and Best Urban Album. And though the guys had previously won big in 2008, they seemed quite humbled when taking the stage.
Residente, in particular, made a point to thank the group's devoted fans and promised that Calle would never stray from their Latin hip hop roots.
"It's very difficult for us navigating against the current," he stated. "I know that we're those who are heard not on the radio, but in the heart of the people."
And in between all of the Calle acceptance speeches, there were still plenty of dominant forces on the Latin Grammy stage. Shakira performed three songs during the night (including "Loca") and got huge cheers when she accepted her Person of the Year award. She also happened to take home Best Female Pop Album for Sale El Sol.
As you may have remembered, we were rooting hard for Alex, Jorge y Lena in the Best Album category. Though they didn't win, the talented trio still nabbed the Best Pop Album by a Group award. And, for the record, our Best New Artist prediction did come true! Tr3s fave Sie7e happily accepted the award and definitely proved himself to be an artist to watch in 2012.
In regards to the live performances, the Latin Grammys did not disappoint! Usher had great onstage chemistry with Romeo as they belted out the popular "Promise" track from Formula Vol. 1. And Pitbull brought out a pretty famous duet partner too. Newly-single Marc Anthony poured his heart out with a live rendition of their new single "Rain Over Me." Even Demi Lovato flexed her Spanish tongue with a riveting performance of "Solamente Tú."
But we're sure the live song that will be getting the most buzz was Calle 13's show opener, "Latinoamérica." The newly-crowned Song of the Year was performed alongside the Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra. Not only that, guest conductor Gustavo Dudamel used his baton to give it an even more bombastic touch.
Of course, the show was just half of the fun. Seeing how the event took place in Vegas, you can bet that many of the stars are probably still celebrating at this very moment!

Thanks to the power of Twitter, we can follow celebs' lives minute-by-minute. And Demi Lovato has proven to be one of the social network's most prolific writers, posting about her naps, her meals, and even her hair color. The pop diva recently sent out a very interesting Twitpic showcasing herself as a ravishing redhead.
"Changing my hair color today....
" she posted on Saturday, followed by, "Red hurr she don't curr..."
And Lovato didn't just go for highlights or a slight alteration, she's now in full-blown I Love Lucy territory! The picture she sent out on Sunday shows a drastically different Demi, complete with glowing crimson lochs.
Some gossip sites are already speculating that Lovato altered her "do" at the request of new boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama. But we're not so sure. Demi's always been a free spirit and this spur-of-the-moment change seems to be completely her decision. Either way, it's definitely a look that works!
