The battle is on between Daddy Yankee and Fat Joe...

Neither one of these fellas are dropping their mics in regards to El Cangri supporting McCain and Fat Joe calling Daddy Yankee a sell out for it. As the 60 day countdown until the '08 Presidential Election begins, the red and blue lines are being drawn con fuerza and so are las palabras between these two Boricuas.
The "Somos De Calle" reggaetonero recently offered his own stab at Fat Joe's comments:
McCain is the kind of man whose promises you can actually believe in. I'll support him till the end. I don't care who I p**s off. This is about my ideals, not about making friends.
Sounds like Daddy Yankee isn't losing any sleep over this drama...that is until those fat endorsement checks stop coming in! Si o no? [NY Post]

When we started reporting on Daddy Yankee's support of GOP nominee John McCain, we heard your reactions loud and clear:
I dont know how much daddy yankee was paid for this where is my man Tego Calderon can you put this kid in place please -- rushay, in response to post "Daddy Yankee: McCain Is A Fighter for the Hispanic Community"
If I could speak to DY I would tell him that this can be the worst decision of your career. McCain is going to receive DYs Support and lose the election. DY MIGHT AS WELL SAY GEORGE W. BUSH IS DOING GOOD FOR Puerto Rico -- Daddy Obama, in response to post "Is Daddy Yankee Voting McCain for President?"
what???? he better not vote for mccain that is whack! -- Jenni, in response to post "Is Daddy Yankee Voting McCain for President?"
Fans of El Rey del Reggaeton aren't the only ones speaking out. One of biggest (no pun intended) advocates for change in the Hispanic community, Fat Joe, had biting words to say about his GOP-huggin' hermano to MTV News:
Put this in the MTV News headline: 'Fat Joe Says Daddy Yankee Is a Sellout.' Just like that!

Daddy Yankee is holding the mic for John McCain in more ways than one! It turns out that reggaetonero is set to perform at the Fiesta Americana Concert as part of the Republican Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota.

This is certainly going to be a different crowd for Mr. Yankee. Word is that 3,000 convention delegates and special guests are said to be attending the performance and we can only imagine what kind of "Pose" John McCain and the rest of the attendees will throw out. We guarantee these stiff blanquitos won't know what hit them! [MTV News]

We previously reported on Daddy Yankee's ‘gasolina’ possibly helping fuel Senator John McCain's Presidential campaign, and now the singer's confirmed endorsement speech has been spreading like wild candela!

El Cangri was spotted holding the mic at the Republican Presidential news conference in Phoenix, Arizona:
I believe in his idea and his proposal to lead this nation. Like I said before, he has been a fighter for the Hispanic community and I know I personally choose him because he is being a fighter for the immigration issue.
We wonder how much Daddy Yankee was paid to ink this deal! Regardless of the green, do you think the reggaetonero will be eating his words soon? [Los Angeles Times]

Dominican underground rapper Vaquero is stirring up chisme by suggesting that Daddy Yankee's "Somos de Calle," the main cinematic title for "Talento de Barrio" is a negative shot at Dominicans. The Big Boss quickly denied these rumors by firmly clarifying:
No never. Hip-hop is unity and Dominican Republic is my second country. You understand that I am the type of man that makes moves based on intelligence and that is all based on ignorance. The title refers to the science of the streets in Puerto Rico. So let's set this straight, we support Dominican hip-hop and we know it's a genre that will reach success in the industry.

Daddy Yankee's 'gasolina' just may help fuel John McCain's presidential campaign. In the hopes of winning over the Latino vote, McCain wishes to ink a celebrity endorsement deal with El Cangri. The Presidential candidate and the reggaetonero held a private meeting this past Saturday to discuss details about Election '08. No word yet on the Boricua's response to the proposal.

Mi gente, do we have a treat for you this week. El Cangri himself was in Nueva York for the premiere of his pelicula Talento De Barrio at NYILFF and Sucker Free Latino (your staple for what's hot in the hood) was there to get the scoop.
In addition to making movies, the Big Boss is expanding his brand a la Diddy style with talks of a new cologne to come out this fall. Sounds muy yummy no? Hmm...we wonder what El Cangri's scent would smell like?
Besides talking to Daddy Yankee, L. Boogs was there to check out the Big Pun documentary, Big Pun: The Legacy , which is a tribute to the late classic Latino rapper. So be sure to tune in to to the next episode of SFL to learn more about the making of the movie.
Check out some more pics after the jump... And don't miss the action on Sucker Free Latino next Wednesday, August 6th at 4pm/9pm EST!
Dayana Mendoza may have been crowned Miss Universe based on her breathtaking beauty, but la reina admits that useful street smarts also helped her conquer the game. The former fashion model's survival skills were put to the test two years ago after being kidnapped in Venezuela.
Being completely vanished from las calles of her hometown has inspired the 22-year-old to support the anti-violence initiative "la violencia no es el camino.” In turn, the bella surviver spoke out about her experience:
In reality [the experience] taught me how to manage my emotions, and control myself in any situation, which helped me a lot when it came to the Miss Universe pageant.
Oye, Dayanita definitely deserves street credit for this one! [MTV Tr3s Radio Noticias]
