We just found one more reason to hate on movie stars. Not only do they make millions of dollars and get the red carpet treatment, they also travel the world and get sent to gorgeous Cancun, Mexico, to promote their new movies! Haterade.
What a life! And we can only imagine what it would have been like to be Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson or Mark Wahlberg this past weekend. A first class ticket to paradise paid for by Columbia Pictures AND having the beautiful Eva Mendes on your arm? Yes, we are officially jealous!

The photogenic trio were sent down south for a special photo op for their new August comedy, "The Other Guys." Co-star Will Ferrell missed the event, but with her chic sunglasses and sexy light purple dress, it sure looks like Eva was having a great time without him!
Eva's actually playing Will's wife in the new buddy cop comedy (which almost seems to be stretching into action movie territory). It's got Mark, Dwayne, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, and tons of car chases and explosions. Sounds like the perfect remedy for the last big month of summer blockbusters!
Check out "The Other Guys" when it arrives in theaters on August 6.

This week, Selena Gomez was spotted all over Europe, hand-in-hand with fellow ‘it’ girls Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy. No, this wasn't a BFF trip of sightseeing and shopping, these ladies were actually on the set of their new comedy flick, "Monte Carlo". We admit it; we're jealous.
Featuring a cast of major up-and-coming Hollywood players, "Monte Carlo" has holiday hit written all over it. You’ve got a Gossip Girl star, a Latina pop and Disney Channel sensation, "Glee" hunk Cory Monteith, and a producer by the name of Nicole Kidman!

This week's cameras caught the ladies at the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, and the historic Notre Dame Cathedral. And that’s only the beginning! Within the next month of shooting, the girls will be headed to Budapest, Monaco, and many more overseas locales.
"Monte Carlo" hits theaters sometime in 2011. For more photos from the set, visit Hollywood Crush!

Wassup, Fockers! Jessica Alba is set to play an attractive pharmaceutical rep in the latest "Meet the Parents" sequel, “Little Fockers.” In addition to the original cast, “Little Fockers” will star Raven Simone, Harvey Keitel, and Laura Dern.
Universal undoubtedly recruited “Sin City” Jess to lure in young theater-goers, adding a little spice to the cast. Although her role may not be huge, she has the charm and charisma to leave an impression. Did we also mention that she's not too bad on the eyes?

“Little Fockers” is expected to pick up where the 2004 film left off and as you've probably guessed from the title, there are babies involved! Pam (Terry Polo) and Gaylord “Greg” Focker (Ben Stiller) have 5-year-old twins. The movie will revolve around the couple trying to cope with raising their children.
Pair that with Pam's lovelorn ex Kevin (Owen Wilson), dysfunctional in-laws, and Alba's character (who will wreak havoc on the male characters in the story), we are sure to see more hilarious, embarrassing moments and physical anguish at Gaylord's expense.
The film, which for the first time will be directed by Paul Weitz instead of Jay Roach, hit theaters December 22.

Team Blogamole recently attended the 8th Cine Fest Petrobras Brasil event in New York. With 15 films representing the best of Brazil’s most exciting new cinema, it was a daunting task to profile just one, so we decided to cover a festival favorite: "Elvis & Madona," Marcelo Laffitte’s feature debut that is not your typical romcom.
The film is set in Rio de Janeiro’s neighborhood of Copacabana, where Elvis (played by Simone Spoladore), a talented lesbian photographer, befriends Madona, a ravishing drag performer who works as a hairstylist by day and performs in Rio’s drag clubs at night. As the director explained to BrazilNYC, the film depicts how "love can arise in any situation."

In “Elvis & Madona,” The brilliance about writer/director Marcelo Laffitte's story is that he manages the contrary by focusing on the relationship itself and not the gender or sexuality of the parties involved. More than just a "LGBT film," Laffitte was able to create a story that all people can relate too.
A Chance Encounter
Set in Copacabana, Elvis is starting a new job at a pizzeria. Her first delivery is to Madona's house, where Elvis finds her on the floor wounded from a beating given to her by her creepy looking boyfriend, Tripod Joe. Madona explains to Elvis that Joe stole the money she was saving to finance her “Big Show.” Elvis offers some words of encouragement and the exchange between the two revealed an instant attraction.

Team Blogamole reported about our lovable blue friends coming to the big screen a few months back, so here's an exciting update: Hank Azaria (as "Gargamel") was recently spotted outside of FAO Schwartz in NYC shooting a scene for the film. He is definitely a dead ringer for that grumpy ol' man!

The film, a combination of CGI and live action, follows the mythical little guys as they are chased by Gargamel, only to find themselves dropped into Central Park. And so the journey begins! Neil Patrick Harris ( as "Johan") befriends them and helps them find their way home.
The cast includes Jayma Mays, Sofia Vargara (as "Odile"), as well as the voices of Katy Perry (as "Smurfette"), Alan Cumming (as "Gutsy Smurf"), Anton Yelchin (as "Clumsy Smurf"), Paul Reubens (as "Jokey Smurf"), B.J. Novak (as "Baker Smurf"), George Lopez (as "Grouchy Smurf"), Jonathan Winters (as "Papa Smurf"), Fred Armisen (as "Brainy Smurf"), Kenan Thompson (as "Greedy Smurf"), John Oliver (as "Vanity Smurf"), Jeff Foxworthy (as "Handy Smurf"), Tim Gunn, and Wolfgang Puck (as "Chef Smurf").
With an all-star lineup like that, “The Smurfs” is sure to be a Smurfy adventure! The tentative release date for the film is August 3, 2011.

It's official: Guillermo Del Torro has announced that he has stepped down as “The Hobbit” director, after working over 24 months to bring two "Lord of the Rings" prequels to the big screen. Toro credits studio delays and schedule conflicts for the decision.
Known for directing “Pan's Labyrinth,” the “Hellboy” franchise, and “Blade II,” Del Toro shared his decision on the the "Lord of the Rings" fan web site, TORN:
“In light of ongoing delays in the setting of a start date for filming “The Hobbit,” I am faced with the hardest decision of my life”, says Guillermo. “After nearly two years of living, breathing and designing a world as rich as Tolkien’s Middle Earth, I must, with great regret, take leave from helming these wonderful pictures. I remain grateful to Peter, Fran and Philippa Boyens, New Line and Warner Brothers and to all my crew in New Zealand. I’ve been privileged to work in one of the greatest countries on earth with some of the best people ever in our craft and my life will be forever changed.
The blessings have been plenty, but the mounting pressures of conflicting schedules have overwhelmed the time slot originally allocated for the project. Both as a co-writer and as a director, I wish the production nothing but the very best of luck and I will be first in line to see the finished product. I remain an ally to it and its makers, present and future, and fully support a smooth transition to a new director”.
The Hobbit will be two motion pictures, co-produced by New Line Cinema and MGM. They are scheduled for release in Dec 2012 and Dec 2013.
Not for one second do we question Del Toro's dedication to the film. He committed three years and moved his family to New Zealand! Unfortunately, postponements would have kept the director on board for six years, putting all of his future projects on hold. Del Toro will continue to co-write the screenplays.

Team Blogamole recently sat down with horror legend George A. Romero. He gave us the deets on his upcoming projects, dream gig, Latino heritage, and more! We'll be rolling out clips for the next two weeks — stay tuned!
Cover your brains, zombie fans: "Survival of the Dead" hits theaters today (May 28)!

George A. Romero loves comics. During his interview with Team Blogamole, the director explained how his favorite comic books influenced the gore and morality in his films.
"I grew up on the old DC Comics [releases], before the Comic Code," Romero explained. "I thought they were tremendously moral, and then they got shut down for being immoral... somebody missed the mark there."
