Dustin Hoffman can proudly join the ranks of celebrity heroes like Patrick Dempsey and Ryan Gosling after saving the life of a London jogger suffering a heart attack.
The 27 year old jogger, Sam Dempster, was trotting through Hyde Park before collapsing. Luckily, Hoffman was at the right place at the right time. He noticed the jogger collapse and dialed for an emergency response team. The actor stayed with Dempster until the paramedics arrived on the scene.
Dempster was luckily revived by the medics after receiving CPR and electrical shocks to his heart. While the jogger could not recall the events after he collapsed, he was informed of Dustin's heroic deeds by the paramedics and was extremely grateful. Dempster said,
"I want to say 'Thank you' to Dustin Hoffman. He saved my life."
The medics, Martin Macarthur and Luke Sullivan, commented on Hoffman's involvement after the incident. Macarthur said,
"Dustin was fascinated. He seemed impressed we'd got this guy back so quickly. When we were carrying the patient into the ambulance he walked up and said 'Great job guys'. He really appreciated what had happened."

Fashion legend Betsey Johnson is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Over 350 workers will be unemployed once her boutiques go out of business this summer.
Johnson was apologetic about her business decisions and said,
"I feel so sad for my store people and all my pink girls. They live and die for me. But I need to be better. I really need to work well and be more efficient."
Betsey might be in the hole financially, but her public persona still has some prestige. Johnson is scheduled to embark upon a new realty show, Betsey + Lulu, featuring the clothing designer and her daughter. The show will air this summer. Betsey says,
"I am trying to make it relevant, deep and interesting about fashion rather than about gossip, girls, makeup and hair."
Betsey Johnson will remain in business, selling her pricier boutique clothes from her proprietary stores, such as those she owns in Los Angeles and New York. She will be selling her "Betsey Johnson" label in retailers like Macy's, and her new fragrance, "Too Too Pretty," will come out this fall.
Do you own any Betsey Johnson gear?

Kim Kardashian is looking svelte, now that she's joined the gluten-free bandwagon that celebrities have been raving about. She recently attributed some sexy photos that she tweeted of herself to her new gluten-free lifestyle
Miley Cyrus was recently criticized for looking overly thin, and she attributed that to being gluten-free as well. Could this be the next celebrity weight loss secret? Experts say that you should only forgo gluten if you have actual gluten allergies. Otherwise, it is not necessary to abstain.
Others have argued, however, that you can't go wrong excluding gluten from your diet, and that after a while, you will notice an improvement in your skin, appearance, and weight, along with your mental and emotional state as well.
Kim has been crediting her hot body to be a result of her gluten free diet, saying, "Gluten free is the way to be... Oh Hi."
Miley also defended her figure by saying it was all a result of healthier lifestyle choices, such as being gluten-free. Cyrus, only 19 and already conscious about lifestyle and better health, tweeted, "Everyone should try no gluten for a week! The change in your skin, physical and mental health is amazing. You won't go back!"
Would you consider going gluten-free?

Hilarious transvestite comedian Eddie Izzard will be starring in Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. The SyFy channel will feature the cross dressing Brit comic in the character of Long John Silver.
The four-hour mini-series features other greats as Elijah Wood and Donald Sutherland, and airs all in one night. The epic film consists of a young Jim Hawkins, played by Toby Regbo, who has a map pointing to buried treasure.
He heads over to the West Indies, only to find that the ship crew is filled with traitors and buccaneers who will stop at nothing to get to the gold first. Izzard plays the ship's cook, Long John Silver, head of the buccaneers.
Izzard compares his role to the mobster-types of Goodfellas more than the classic pirates of Treasure Island, as he feels Hollywood has "softened and romanticized" pirates. Izzard states, "I went on the Pirates of the Caribbean [theme park ride] and had a very good time! The truth is pirates were drunken, murderous bastards who didn't give a f*** about anyone but themselves and would not hesitate to rip you up. They were extremely well organized, like mafia gangs."
To Eddie, this gig is a fantasy come true. He loves the dramatic character as much as the next comic, and had this to say about starring in the film, "Being in great big sprawling dramas is all I've ever wanted to do since I was 7! It was a wonderful honor to be offered the part, especially for someone who is known for comedy. I've had to push for good, serious roles since I was in school. Finally it's working out for me. I guess I have the fine-wine approach to show business."
Apparently, playing the role wasn't all fun and games. Izzard got stuck in the physically challenging conditions on the set, from the extreme freezing temperatures of Dublin to the exasperating heat in Puerto Rico. He said, "It was bloody hard, but I kept battering through. And, thanks to a good osteopath, I survived."
What is your favorite Eddie Izzard role?

Although Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer haven't been an item for a few years now, some say the singer still longs for Aniston, and may have written his latest single, "Shadow Days," about the actress.
The 34-year old crooner may still have the hots for the 43-year old beauty, even though he was seemingly not that into her some years ago. I guess we don't know what we have until it's gone, huh John? According to a source, it "took him a long time to get over her. He really loved her a lot."
Speculation of John's persistent longing for Jen may come after listening to certain tell-tale "Shadow Days" lyrics, which read, "You find yourself alone... I found myself in pieces/ On my hotel floor/ Hard times help me see/ I'm a good man with a good heart/ Had a tough time, got a rough start/ And I finally learned to let it go."
Cry me a river, John. Don't be so emo. I seem to recall you being quite the player back then and ending up in a few tabloids after breaking several girls' hearts, like Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Jen and Mayer dated back in 2008 and had an on-again, off-again relationship for about a year. Now that Jen is in a happy relationship with Justin Theroux, Mayer comes out of the woodwork to profess his undying love for her? I don't think so. How typical.
Another source reveals that Mayer wrote "Shadow Days" as "a farewell letter knowing [Jen] would hear it. Ultimately he's done a lot of self reflection though and he realizes they weren't right for each other."
Mayer also revealed he is ready to settle down, but not with a celebrity. His Hollywood relationships are in the past, and it's time for him to move on. The source adds, "He's looking for a nice, non famous girl he can relate to... He loved [Jen and Jessica] both but it really affected him emotionally and it wasn't worth it."
Do you think John Mayer wrote "Shadow Days" about Jennifer Aniston?

Admit it. You're a sucker for classic reruns just like the rest of us. Whether it's I Love Lucy on Nick At Nite or The George Lopez Show here on Tr3s, who can resist re-watching the shows you grew up on over and over again? The TV Land network chose to capitalize on that notion by creating their own awards show which honored the greatest casts of yesteryear.
Kelly Ripa took on hosting duties for the event (which aired last night) and made sure to work her way into the night's comedic festivities. When introducing the reunited cast of In Living Color, Ripa popped in alongside the famous Fly Girls, dancing to a few 90's jams.
Indeed, the In Living Color segment probably brought on the biggest applause thanks to some very notable appearances. Jim Carrey (who was a cast member throughout the entire four-year run) received huge cheers when he took the stage, as did the Wayans brothers Marlon and Shawn.
Creator Keenan Ivory Wayans was also in attendance and thanked the fans for their continued support of the show.
"This is truly an honor to accept this award," he told the audience, "And an even greater honor to be back together with all these talented people. We were just a bunch of young kids who had an opportunity to be funny. There was no great intention behind it other than to come to work every day and have fun and give what we had to an audience who had never seen what we had before."
Of course, one other famous ILC cast member proved to be a no-show. But there is a possibility that she'll pop back in when the series gets its Fox reboot later this year.
Pee Wee Herman made a memorable appearance too, accepting a Pop Culture Award for his classic children's series Pee Wee’s Playhouse. Mike Myers introduced the bow-tied icon, who seemed genuinely touched when he took the stage.
Fans of 70's sitcoms got a big treat as well, with the reunited casts of Laverne & Shirley and One Day At A Time receiving honors. Katie Couric presented the L&S crew with the Fan Favorite Award, which star Cindy Williams felt deeply honored by.
"Penny [Marshall] and I had no idea how popular the show was," she said from the stage. "We had a lot of laughs and a really good time."
Sadly, the Fonz didn't make an appearance during the Laverne tribute and the Latino presence was far and few between. Hopefully next year, Kelly and company will spread the love to a few Hispanic TV icons from decades past.

It must definitely be spring. Birds are chirping, everyone's in love, and celebrities are renewing their vows like it's the latest Hollywood trend. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon renewed their vows in Paris this weekend, atop the Eiffel Tower. LeAnn Rimes and hubby Eddie Cibrian celebrated their nuptials with a vow renewal this weekend as well, next to the ocean in a romantic beach getaway.
Rimes tweeted,
"Renewed our vows today... it's incredible to thank each other for the past year as husband and wife. Here's to another year!(sic)"
It wasn't all wine and roses for LeAnn, however. The country star did manage to hurt herself in the process. She added,
"Eddie and I went climbing on the rocks in the ocean yesterday to see the thousands of crabs. I did not realize til now just how dab I kicked a rock with two of my toes... OUCH"
Despite her minor injury and incoherent tweets, the couple seemed to have a lovely time by the sea. Eddie also revealed LeAnn was possibly going to be an X Factor judge, replacing Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger if she got the part.
Mariah provided a more grammatically correct account of her and Nick's vow renewal via Twitter. The singer said,
"Tonight was an incredible night. I can't express how amazing it was to renew our vows in Paris at the top of the Eiffel tower. Thank you so much to all the fans who came out as always and showed their love and support. I love you!"
Cannon was overjoyed to renew his vows to Mariah as well. He said,
"We get married every year; it's our thing. I just have to keep doing it to make sure it's real!"
Nick revealed future plans to take his and Mariah's twins, Moroccan and Monroe, overseas to celebrate their first birthday. When it was speculated whether they would be returning to the Eiffel Tower for the birthday party, Nick smiled in confirmation and said, "You're good. You're good."
Must be great to be a celebrity baby and have your first birthday celebrated on top of one of the world's most famous and beautiful landmarks. Nice job guys! A very special congratulations for Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, as well as LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian. Qué viva el amor!

It looks like we've got a big celebrity boda coming up. After years together, Eugenio Derbez and Alessandra Rosaldo are finally ready to say "I Do" and they'll be doing it in front of Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider!
As you may recall, Eugenio's become pretty tight with the comedy stars in recent months. He starred in Adam's hit film Jack and Jill and now has a prominent role in Schneider's CBS sitcom.
So naturally, Derbez invited both of them to his wedding. His fiancée, Alessandra, made sure that plenty of Latin A-listers were on the RSVP list too, including Érick Elías, Karla Guindi and Eduardo Santamarina.
It's all set to go down on June 7 at an undisclosed location. And as far as musical entertainment goes, we're thinking Eugenio may get yet another of his famous co-stars to help lend a hand.

Patrick Dempsey might save lives on television, but he recently saved someone from a car accident in real life. The actor pulled a teenager from an overturned vehicle this weekend and even called his mother, telling her about the accident.
Weston Masset was trapped inside the wrecked car minutes after the Grey's Anatomy actor witnessed the accident and pulled him to safety. Masset recalled, "I was scared for my life, I was upside down."
After Patrick witnessed the car flip, he rushed over with a crow bar, pried the doors open, and pulled Weston out. He pulled the boy to a safe distance and called the paramedics, who then airlifted the boy to a nearby hospital.
Dempsey called Weston's mother, Mary Beth Masset, to inform her about her son. Mary Beth said, "I asked if he was a paramedic and he said no, 'this is Patrick Dempsey.'"
Talk about the old I'm-not-a-doctor-but-I-play-one-on-TV cliche coming true! The boy recalls his first exchange with Dempsey after regaining consciousness. He asked Dempsey if he was famous, and the actor replied, "Yeah, I'm a doctor."
Dempsey even got props form a Masset family friend, Shawn Ryan, a showrunner for the FX hit cop drama The Shield. Ryan tweeted, "True Story: Grey's Anatomy actor Patrick Dempsey pulled my friend's son out of overturned car after bad accident on Tuesday. #GoodDude"
Way to go, Patrick! You have just joined the ranks of celebrities-turned-heroes like Ryan Gosling and Sofia Vergara.
What celebrity would you want to save your life?

Venezuelan beauty Dayana Mendoza was fired from Celebrity Apprentice, after taking charge as project manager for Team Forte this week. Despite being the contestant who has been brought back to the boardroom the most times, six times, to be exact, the beauty queen still had to hear the words: "You're fired!"
Mendoza's team lost to Arsenio Hall's team, Team Unanimous, this week. Dayana seemed to have a rough week, between Clay Aiken taking over her project and Lisa Lampanelli's verbal abuse. She lost her cool in the last episode as stormed out of the boardroom after a diva-like tantrum.
Things didn't look to great for Mendoza after Clay and Lisa's antagonism. She seemed to be aggravating her teammates, despite her efforts to bring the team to victory. Aiken and Lampanelli had no problem throwing Mendoza under the proverbial bus, when Donald Trump agreed and sent her on her way.
Do you agree Dayana should have been fired this week?
