Of course Catherine, the new Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge, looked simply dashing this morning at her much anticipated nuptials to Prince William of Wales or as the Queen appointed him, the Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus.
The Duchess wore a refined, yet youthful Alexander McQueen long-sleeved, sweetheart-neckline gown with lace overlay, complete with a nine foot train and veil, designed by Sarah Burton.
While the bride was a vision in white, the real stars of the show, after the newlyweds that is, were the collection of hats atop the heads of the women at the 2,000 attendee celebration. We've got a round up of some of the hits...and misses.
From Left to Right/ Top to Bottom:
1) Victoria Beckham went simpler than we would have expected in a navy cap. We're guessing she toned down her vibrant A-list style for the royals.
2) Princess Letizia nailed the mark with a simple peach number and veil.
3 /4 ) Both Charlene Wittstock, the fiancee of Prince Albert II of Monaco and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden looked lovely in wide brim hats, although we do favor Charlene's choice.
5) Britain's Queen Elizabeth wore a wonderful yellow top hat adorned with a flower. Who would dare insult the Queen Mum, though?
6) So, we'll take it out on her daughter! Anne, the Princess Royal's purple cap would have been better suited without the floral garb.
7/8) Queen Margrethe of Denmark and Queen Sofia of Spain definitely disappointed. Their choice in head wear didn't reflect their royal bank accounts.
9) Carole Middleton looked magnificent...for a commoner. Their words, not ours.
10) Princess Beatrice's hat is probably the most famous of them all! A facebook page has since been erected in its honor with over 34,000 likes. In fact, Princess B is so well known for her hat misses, there's even a Tumblr following her fashion faux pas. This deserves a close-up!
11) Princess Eugenie, though not as bad as her sister, was definitely a fashion disaster with her pointed mad hatter complete with feathers or fur...we're not sure
12) Finally, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, looked decent, we have to say. But when a nation of people despise you for engaging in adultery with the beloved Princess Diana's former husband, you kind of have to look good at all the big events, no?

World-renowned fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead in London at age 40; early reports say suicide.
The death of the go-to celebrity designer comes just days before the start of London Fashion Week and a few weeks prior to Paris Fashion Week where McQueen was scheduled to show. Perhaps even more telling, his death comes just days after the death of his beloved mother on Feb 2nd.
His office released the following statement:
"At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with McQueen's family. His family has asked for privacy in order to come to terms with this terrible news and we hope the media will respect this."
His runway shows — more often like performance pieces because they were so dramatic, and sometimes, bizarre — were always a highlight during the Paris ready-to-wear fashion week.
Alexandra Shulman, the Editor and Chief of British Vogue had this to say:
“McQueen influenced a whole generation of designers. His brilliant imagination knew no bounds as he conjured up collection after collection of extraordinary designs. At one level he was a master of the fantastic, creating astounding fashions shows that mixed design, technology and performance and on another he was a modern day genius whose gothic aesthetic was adopted by women the world over.”
A longtime fashion innovator, the London-born McQueen got his start making custom suits for none other than Prince Charles. He has regularly dressed fashion "It" girls like: Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Cameron Diaz, Sarah Jessica Parker, Janet Jackson, and Fergie, just to name a few.
The four-time British Designer of the Year, Commander of the British Empire and International Designer of the Year will be sadly missed. (E!)

And those crazy Alexander McQueen heels! Ay, dios mio!! We're not sure whether she's in an insane asylum or not, but this video is just crazy eccentric, tal como la cantante! Directed by Francis Lawrence, "Bad Romance" has Video of the Year at the 2010 VMAs written all over it.
