After 17 years catching for the New York Yankees, Puerto Rican all-star Jorge Posada officially announced his retirement this week. And with five World Series rings under his belt, it's clear he'll leave a lasting legacy.

"I could never wear another uniform," an emotional Jorge told reporters. "I will forever be a Yankee."

Clearly Yankee fans will not soon forget Posada. He spent his entire MLB career playing for New York and is considered to be a "shoe-in" for the Baseball Hall of Fame.

His famous teammates appeared to be choked up at the prospect of him leaving too.

"Jorge has bled the pinstripes for a long, long time, and he played with a passion that certainly rubbed off on his teammates," Alex Rodriguez said. "To play the number of games that he did, at the level he did, year in and year out, at the toughest position on the field, is a credit to his commitment to his craft."

NY mayor Michael Bloomberg made sure to chime in too, saying,

"Jorge Posada is a great Yankee and a great New Yorker. On behalf of all New Yorkers, I congratulate him on his outstanding career and thank him for the invaluable contributions he’s made to our city."

But perhaps the people most proud of Jorge's accomplishments are his wife and two children. They were by his side after throughout the press conference and will certainly be thrilled to now have Papa Posada all to themselves.

It looks like Alex Rodriguez definitely has a thing for blondes. Months after splitting with Cameron Diaz (and his platinum-haired trainer Ella Magers), the Yankees slugger was spotted in Miami with Torrie Wilson.

This actually isn't the first time that A-Rod's been linked with the former WWF diva. They were seen riding bikes together during the Christmas holiday and recently got snapped hanging out with George Clooney and Stacy Keibler in Cabo San Lucas.

Known for her long legs and ripped physique, Torrie became one of professional wrestling's most recognizable ladies during the early 2000's. She made regular appearances on Monday Night Raw and won her share of "Royal Rumbles" against stars like Dawn Marie and Trish Status.

But now it appears she's putting her moves on the newly-single Rodriguez. The latest paparazzi snaps from their Miami vacation show quite a lot of poolside PDA.

It must be nice to make hundreds of millions of dollars, especially when it comes to medical care. Instead of getting basic treatment on his bum knee, Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez flew all the way to Germany to test out an experimental therapy called "Orthokine."

Interestingly, it was Kobe Bryant who told A-Rod to head overseas. The Lakers star had used the therapy himself and clearly it's helped him excel in the NBA. But what is "Orthokine" exactly? A revolutionary plasma-rich platelet treatment.

According to New York Magazine, "Orthokine" involves taking blood from a patient's arm, then spinning it in a centrifuge. The shaken-up serum is then injected into the affected area, aka Rodriguez' injured knee.

It definitely sounds "different," but the real question is, will it work? It seems A-Rod did the procedure a few weeks back, so perhaps when the new season kicks off we can see if he's got bionic speed when he rounds those bases.

Looks like a "fairytale wedding" won't be having such a "happily ever after" ending after all! With only 72 days on the marriage calendar, reality star Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphries, today on Halloween, citing the typical, irreconcilable differences!

Ryan Seacrest, who is a friend of the family and the producer of Keeping Up With the Kardashians has confirmed the news! He tweeted,

"Yes, @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins."

The filing comes after weeks of speculation of trouble in their brief marriage. Kardashian already had mentioned that living in New York City with her sister Kourtney, her boyfriend Scott Disick and their baby Mason wasn't an ideal situation for the newlyweds.

For Halloween, Kim dressed as Poison Ivy, hosted a Midori Green party and arrived with best friend Jonathan Cheban as her Robin. Batman's poisonous enemy said that her husband was not around because she was headed to Australia this week. Maybe she sent him there to pick up his Batman outfit while she ran to Britney and Angelina's lawyer, Laura Wesser, to file for divorce!!

But is it breaking news? I think we were all expecting this to happen sooner or later...well maybe not so soon, but hey it's really not a shocker! This is absolutely embarrassing not so much for Kris, who at the end of the day got his 15 minutes of fame, but for Kim, whose lavish and highly publicized ceremony came on the heels of the British royal wedding. But while the royal newlyweds are celebrating 6 months of marriage and going strong, the Hollywood wannabe-royals only lasted a mere 72 days together!

The buzz now is that this was all a scam and that the rapid courtship was part of a mega publicity stunt. The Kardashians made tons of money in sponsorship, endorsements and selling photos from Kim's wedding. There's also the two-part E! special of the affair.

Sorry A-Rod and Cameron fans, it looks like the chisme couple may really be finished this time. Though Diaz hasn't been spotted with any new guys as of late, her MLB boytoy has allegedly linked himself with a sexy blonde trainer.

Gossip blogs are already calling Ella Magers the "perfect woman” for Alex. Toned, tough, and a trained nutritionist, she was seen leaving his Miami home on more than one occasion. Interestingly, with her long legs and striking blonde hair, she does share some similarities with A-Rod's famous ex.

But sources close to the Yankees slugger are saying their relationship is purely professional. Ella is regarded as a premier health expert and Rodriguez' camp insists that she has only visited him for training purposes.

"She's not a girlfriend," the anonymous spy said. "Ella Magers is a nutritionist and a trainer and she has six Major League Baseball clients. She helps Alex with nutrition and some physical training. She works very closely with Alex’s chef. Ella is highly regarded among professional athletes."

We think hiring Magers could be a good thing for A-Rod. Not only can she work on strengthening muscles, she can improve the injury of a broken heart.

Obviously the release of the Watch The Throne album is reason enough to celebrate. The legendary collaboration between Jay-Z and Kanye West has attracted a huge amount of attention. And for the kickoff, Hova threw a massive party in Miami.

Held at the city's popular Club Liv, the Throne fiesta seemed to spare no expense. To help usher in the festivities, Jay-Z popped open a $250,000 bottle of champagne, setting a record for the club's biggest bar tab.

Kanye was unfortunately traveling overseas, but that didn't stop the onslaught of other local celebs from getting their party on. Tr3s faves Alex Rodriguez and Daddy Yankee were spotted in the crowd, as were Flo Rida and DJ Clue.

Of course the true star of the night was the $250k bottle of Ace Of Spades champagne. Broken down into sheer numbers, it wound up costing several thousand dollars a glass! But by the huge smiles seen on the Throne guests' faces, it was well worth it.

We're sure you've heard about the celebrity gambling scandal brewing out in California. Stars like Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, and more have been tied to a series of illegal poker games. And now more details are leaking about A-Rod's involvement and the cocaine-filled nights he spent playing high stakes Texas Hold'Em.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the games Rodriguez played in were held at a posh Beverly Hills mansion. Drugs like cocaine ran rampant and there were even some aggressive confrontations among the players. One tense incident allegedly involved A-Rod, though he quickly backed off when things got heated.

"He didn't want to deal with [the confrontation] at all. He was like, OK, whatever. It's your game," an unnamed source said. "I would estimate A-Rod lost, like, a few thousand dollars that night. After everything that happened, he paid-up and left."

Another interesting story to emerge involved a steamy affair between Rodriguez and one of the game's organizers, Molly Bloom. As expected, A-Rod's spokespeople have denied everything and issued a statement on his behalf.

"Mr. Rodriguez has not participated in these poker games," Alex's rep Richard Rubenstein said. "I am not prepared to comment any further about alleged sightings."

Derek Jeter is already having a stellar career but last Saturday he added a monumental notch to his belt: the 37-year-old shortstop joined the 3000-hit club!

With the hit, Jeter is the first player to accomplish the feat, the sixth youngest and the 28th overall player in Major Leagues history to do so. It was befitting that the milestone came at Yankee Stadium but the added pressure to satisfy the home crowd's desire to witness history made the deed much more difficult.

"It was one of those special days." Jeter told usatoday.com. "Coming in, I've been lying to (the press) for a long time saying I wasn't nervous and there was no pressure…I felt a lot of pressure to do it here while we're at home."

The epochal hit, a homerun, tied the game and while running the bases, the crowd chanted "De-rek Je-ter!".  As Jeter passed home plate, he was swarmed and praised by his teammates.

"That was obviously very spontaneous," Jorge Posada told mlb.com. "Everybody ran out there and gave him a big hug. I told him I was proud of him. I got a little emotional because I was so happy for him."

The shortstop could have hung up his glove and called it a day but "Mr. 3000" wasn't done. He went on to finish 5-5 including the game-winner in New York's 5-4 victory over the Rays.

"Only a guy like Derek Jeter," said Alex Rodriguez, "can have a day and a moment and a hit like he had today."

The historic home-run ball was caught by Christian Lopez, of Highland Mills, NY, who unhesitatingly gave the ball to Jeter. When asked why he didn't cash in on the catch, the huge baseball fan simply said:

"Mr. Jeter deserved it," Lopez said. "I'm not going to take it away from him."

Say it ain't so! NY Yankees star Alex Rodriguez has been added to the group of Hollywood A-listers accused of participating in an illegal California gambling ring. Star Magazine broke the story last month when Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon were all named in the impending investigation.

As previously reported, the Hollywood hot shots would meet at a number of luxury Beverly Hills hotels or private homes where the buy-in for the exclusive, by-invitation-only games, was $100,000.

According to a Star source:

"Initially, A-Rod came to the game and simply watched. But once he knew what it was all about, he brought into the game. He played two or three times, I would estimate."

A-Rod's involvement comes under particular scrutiny since the Yankee slugger was cautioned against participating in unlicensed gambling rings back in 2005. Rodriguez was caught attending games at an underground Manhattan club. While Alex wasn't punished, MLB commissioner Bud Selig was reportedly "keeping an eye" on the star Yankee.

If A-Rod is convicted, Cam Diaz's boy toy will be forced to pay back any and all winnings received from said games since California law forbids unlicensed gambling, making all winnings from those games "ill-gotten."

A slap on the wrist for the multi-millionaire, right? However, the Yankee may be subject to other penalties from MLB. Only time will tell...

Get ready for another chapter in the ongoing saga of Alex Rodriguez and Cameron Diaz. As of last month, the on-again, off-again couple was still going strong. But that was before the media push for Cameron’s new movie Bad Teacher. Now Bossip is reporting that the Yankees slugger is dealing with a few jealousy issues, particularly because Diaz’s new costar happens to be her ex, Justin Timberlake!

Whenever a new movie comes out, the leading actors always have to make tons of appearances together. There are press junkets, talk shows, and all kinds of functions that put the co-stars in very close quarters. And seeing how Cameron and Justin had a very public romance from 2003-2006, could there be a possibility this new publicity tour may spark up old flames?

Not if A. Rod has anything to say about it. Sources claim that he visited Cameron quite a few times during the production of Bad Teacher. And seeing his beefy 6’2” frame on set was probably quite intimidating for Justin and his entourage.

According to Bossip’s insider,

“Alex Rodriguez is a very confident man when it comes to baseball..but in his love-life he’s very insecure.”

The unnamed source also said that Rodriguez has become “incredibly jealous” of the friendship that Diaz and Timberlake still share. Though we love Cameron, perhaps it's better for A. Rod if Bad Teacher becomes a box office flop. At least that way he won’t have to worry about her and JT getting together for any sequels.
