There is major drama in Gaga's world this week! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lady Gaga and her longtime choreographer and creative director LaurieAnn Gibson have parted ways.

The website MediaTakeOut, which revealed LaurieAnn's departure, reported that ongoing creative tension culminated in a "bitter argument" over the telephone last week, during which LaurieAnn got the boot.

"A lot of things were said, and it was very heated," the website reported. "Laurieann ended up hanging up and saying she was suing." Lady Gaga's spokesman said the duo's commercial relationship was over.

Their partnership started back in 2007, when Gaga was fresh meat at Interscope Records. LaurieAnn started working as her choreographer, then became one of the creative minds behind Gaga's videos.

Interscope Records has had credits choreographing nearly every Lady Gaga video released so far, including "Poker Face", "Just Dance", "Telephone", "Alejandro", and "Born This Way". And she has also worked closely with the singer on her live performances and massive stage shows.

Recently LaurieAnn had to balance the release of Gaga's Born This Way album with a few projects of her own: she launched the BET dance competition show Born to Dance, E!'s dance reality show The Dance Scene, and directed Gaga's Emmy-winning HBO concert special.  All this success, according to the buzz, apparently had turned LaurieAnn into somewhat of a diva herself.

The turmoil all started when LaurieAnn was asked about her thoughts on Gaga's ongoing comparison to Madonna. This little question led to a storm of controversy when the comments surfaced. LaurieAnn spoke of the ways in which she modeled Gaga's visual aesthetic on Madonna's work.

LaurieAnn said that Madonna "should be bitter, because I did it on purpose, and you can quote me. I did it on purpose because for all those kids who believe that you can’t, I wanted to let them feel that you can. And that’s what I represent, that’s what Gaga represents.”  Gaga on the contrary denied her modeling of Madonna’s style and work.

These comments were the beginning of the tension between the two. And the rift seemed to continue once LaurieAnn began directing Gaga's videos. LaurieAnn, who co-directed Gaga's Judas video, said she was uncomfortable with the way the tune confronted religion.

"At one point, there was two completely different views and after the third glass of wine, I was like, 'Listen, I don't want lightning to strike me. I believe in the Gospel and I'm not going there," LaurieAnn said.
LaurieAnn Gibson may have been canned over creative differences and/or diva-ish behavior, but it's no doubt that her contributions to Gaga's career have been essential. LaurieAnn was often described as one third of the "creative trifecta" behind Gaga's extraordinary success. She worked alongside Stefani Germanotta, largely responsible Gaga's music, and Nicola Formichetti, the designer behind the flashy Gaga outfits.

Richard Jackson is now choreographing Gaga's performances.

Gaga tweeted last week:

"Warming up with my choreographer Richard Jackson, singing + pinning garments till the last moment. So excited for The Night, gonna Marry It."

What do you think of the Gaga-Gibson breakup?

Which songs do you think are best suited to help a newborn sleep? "Rock-A-Bye Baby?" "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?" Or perhaps Lady Gaga's "Alejandro?!" That's exactly the tune that Thalía's been belting out to her week-old son Matthew, and it seems to be working wonders.

"Llevo todo el día cantando ♫♬Alejandro,Alejandro..Ale,Alejandro,Ale,Alejandro♪♬♫Lo aaaamooooo!!! Buen día a todos," she recently tweeted.

For the record, Alejandro happens to be Matthew's middle name. But who would have thought the little newborn would be going goo-goo for Gaga? Thalía seems to be very happy with the song, which is a good thing considering all that she's been through lately.

Sadly, the Mexican pop star lost her mother a few weeks ago and has been dealing with some incredible grief. Obviously the birth of Matthew helped lift her spirits and it's nice to know there are some musical tracks that can lighten her mood as well.

So now we've got to wonder, could there be any other great pop songs to help with the infant set? Maybe Justin Bieber's "Baby?" Or perhaps Jennifer Lopez’ "On The Floor" for all those newborns learning to crawl? It sounds to us like it may be time for Kidz Bop to put out a new toddler mixed tape.

Which hit songs do you think would make a great lullaby? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.

Lady Gaga premiered her latest over-the-top video, "Alejandro," on Tuesday (June 8) to mixed reviews. The video (8:43 in its entirety) is classic Gaga: featuring androgyny, S&M, religious artifacts and sexually charged choreography, the singer drew from pop's infinite palette for her own cool creation.

In a confusing move, Katy Perry weighed in on the controversial video by tweeting, "Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke."

Gaga, isn't the first artist to subvert religious iconography. Madonna did it with "Like a Prayer" and the Fame Monster certainly won't be the last draw from spiritual inspiration. It is the Catholic imagery in particular that has many offended by the Steven Klein directed video. "Alejandro" shows the singer dressed in a red-latex nun's habit, sucking on rosary beads, and a crucifix appears during a same-sex orgy.

Lady Gaga has yet to respond to Perry's commentary, but of course Gagita's biggest supporter Perez Hilton was quick to chime in by tweeting, "One person's blasphemy is another's cupcake bra with exploding frosting!" (reference to Perry's latest video, "California Gurls").

Katy, who was raised in a Christian household by two pastor parents, has certainly had her share of controversial moments, so her judgement is questionable. Did she forget about the backlash she received with her first video, "I Kissed A Girl"? Hypocritical, much?

Lady Gaga sat down with Larry King in an interview that airs Tuesday (June 1) to discuss her career, rumors surrounding a Michael Jackson collaboration that never reached fruition, her family's history with lupus, and her highly anticipated video for "Alejandro."

Lady Gaga

Gaga was even nice enough to let her little monsters know exactly when they can catch the "Alejandro" preview.  She tweeted:

"ATTENTION LITTLE MONSTERS: ALEJANDRO PREVIEWS BEGIN 2NITE STARTING 9PM ET/6PM PT ON CNN LARRY KING, THEN 9:30 EXCLUSIVE ON PEREZ, 9:35 VEVO X ."

During the interview, Gaga unveiled the truth about her MJ collabo, but not without hesitation:

"You know, it's always very difficult because I don't necessarily like to talk about those very personal things that happened. I guess I can speak about it now. I was actually asked to open for Michael on his tour. We were going to open for him at the O2."

Chisme king Perez Hilton dished this morning that Lady GaGa is reportedly enlisting fashion photographer Steven Klein as director for the video for her upcoming single, Alejandro.

The song — which describes her boy as "hot like Mexico" and hidden in her "bolsillo" — is about a relationship break-up. Director Klein is a favourite of Gaga's idol Madonna, who's video for Take A Bow (directed by Michael Haussman) was a period-style piece filmed in Spain.

Madonna, who played Eva Perón in the film version of 'Evita,' has frequently drawn inspiration from Latin cultura. Will Lady GaGa's next video follow suit?

On the heels of her latest smash hit video for Telephone, we can only imagine what the visuals for Alejandro might be. Let's see if the lyrics provide any clues!

And I know you may love me.
But I just can't be with you like this anymore.

You know who never gets enough attention en las telenovelas?  Las villanas.  Sure, everyone loves una bella protagonista y su galán, pero the bad girls deserve some attention too, no creen?

Bueno, pues la abuela de MTV Tr3s está de acuerdo.  See what she had to say about la odiosa Raquel from Sortilegio, played by Chantal Andere.  (Y claro, she's got some words about William Levy in there too!)
