Katy Perry is about to get Branded... for good.
On New Year's Eve, the British comedian asked Perry to marry him, and she accepted, the couple's respective reps confirm. Brand popped the question in a tent at the foot of a mountain.
"In India, the motto is...you gotta go with the flow," she tweeted teasingly on Dec. 30, just 24 hours after they visited the Taj Mahal, which she joked he built for her. (Twitter)
In the latest issue of Glamour, Katy hinted at the future proposal:
"When I find a partner who is my teammate...I'm not going to play by any rules, I'm just going to go with my heart. Why wait? I just wrote a song [that goes], 'They say it's hard to meet your match, gotta find my other half so we can make a perfect shape.'"
The couple began their courtship shortly after the MTV Video Music Awards last September, previously reported by Blogamole (read up on how they met here). The former playboy confirmed their relationship on Britain's GMTV, calling Perry "the right one" and admitting marriage "would be good."
Felicidades a los dos! (E! News)

We cornered Pitbull as he arrived on the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet to get some extra spicy scoop on the fly. One thing we picked up -- Mr. 305 is collaborating on "Lola," the first single off Jennifer Lopez's nuevo album, which was produced by Pharell Williams. Pitbull told us that the pair had just finished shooting the music video.
What can we expect from the Pit-JLo connection? Pitbull revealed the video will have an Eyes Wide Shut feel. From the sound of it, este video is gonna be hot! (We have a feeling Pitbull agrees!)

The 2009 VMAs was chock full of good music, juicy drama and out-of-this-world fashion.
Janet Jackson's tributo a su hermano, Michael, was not only a really heartfelt memorial, but also featured some of the most renowned choreography in the history of MJ's illustrious career, with recreations of "Thriller," "Bad," "Smooth Criminal," and "Scream." Lady Gaga’s performance was aún más loca de lo que esperábamos with its bloody grand finale, and Jay-Z and Alicia Keys closed the show with a hoppin' rendition of "Empire State of Mind." In between there were performances by Beyoncé, Green Day, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry -- as well as Wale and the numerous artists (como Pitbull! Latinos represent!) that joined him as the VMA house band. Pink had arguably one of the best shows of the night when she performed from a flying trapeze!
Host Russell Brand kept the dirty jokes flying, Pop Queen Madonna paid tribute to the late King of Pop, and Kanye West did his best to steal the show but was promptly escorted out of the venue for another awards show outburst. No nos sorprendió mucho! Lady Gaga wowed with her ever-inventive vestuario, and even the Twilight cast showed up to show off the drama-filled trailer for 'New Moon.'
While Wisin y Yandel didn’t win for "Best Pop Video," Latin artists were definitely in the house! Pitbull and Wale performed a hip-hop go-go version of "I Know You Want Me," and Mr. 305 made sure to give a big shout-out to all the Latinos! Also representing at the show were Shakira, JLo and hubby Marc Anthony, "Blaxican" Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, and honorary Latina Nelly Furtado who gave el Dúo Dinámico a nod during her presenter's speech.
So what did you guys think about this year's VMAs? Did it meet or exceed your expectations?

We announced last week that Beyoncé would be gracing the VMA stage with her "Diva" presence, but we are personally just as excited about Cuban rapper Pitbull participating in the Wale-emceed house band. Pit, along with the All-American Rejects and 3OH!3 will be performing versions of their hit canciones with Wale throughout the VMA espectáculo. We pulled Pitbull aside to ask algunas preguntas about how the whole VMA gig went down and to find out which of the VMA nominees have Mr. 305's stamp of approval. Read the whole thing below!

You're gonna be part of the VMA house band in this year's show. How did that come about, and what can viewers expect to hear from you during the show?
What can be expected is great energy, a good vibe. We going to put it down Dade County style!
What do you think are the chances of Wisin y Yandel winning the VMA for Best Pop video, and do you think they deserve to win?
I really don't know what their chances are, but if they win it's a great victory para todos los Latinos.
Who are you rooting for at the VMAs for Video of the Year?
Lady Gaga, because she has taken the music industry by storm with her distinctive music and style.
What do you have in store for us for your future music videos? Do you think we'll see a Pitbull video nominated for a VMA anytime soon?
I think you will see a Pitbull video nominated in the near future. We will continue to make sexy, sophisticated videos with nothing but the finest, most exotic beautiful women in the world!
Lastly, congrats on being granted the key to Miami! What does that honor mean to you?
It's a blessing and a great honor, especially for someone born and raised in Miami.

Ring the alarm, porque the VMAs just got hotter! Beyoncé, who is tied with fellow performer Lady Gaga for the most nominations este año, has just been added as a performer to the already star-studded show!
La cantante will be flexing more than just her vocal muscles with a dance-heavy performance of her latest canción, "Sweet Dreams." Beyoncé joins hubby Jay-Z, P!nk, Green Day, and Lady Gaga, among others who are set to blow our minds at this year's MTV Video Music Awards in NY.
Also announced today was the addition of a house band, emceed by hip-hop newcomer Wale. El rapero has collaborated with artists such as Cuban rapper Pitbull, Lady Gaga and the All-American Rejects on his upcoming debut album, Attention Deficit, due out on October 20th.

BREAKING NEWS! Nominee announcements went out today for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. What grabbed nuestra atención when we scanned the list? EL DÚO DINÁMICO ESTAN NOMINADOS! After a runaway year, with record-breaking album sales and #1 videos, Wisin y Yandel have been nominated for an MTV Video Music Award.
We think los boricuas can swing it, especially since they're a hit con las mujeres. Los Revolucionarios are nominated in the Best Pop category for "Abusadora" against Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Cobra Starship and Britney Spears. Wisin y Yandel join rapper and Degrassi grad Drake, roqueros Kings of Leon and college boy Asher Roth as VMA nominee virgins. They are the third Latin artist (Tres es el número de la suerte, no?) to earn a VMA nomination for a music video with Spanish only lyrics, following the 2005 nominations for Shakira's "La Tortura" and Daddy Yankee's "Gasolina."
Un Circo de Mujeres
The ladies claimed a fair share of nominations at this year's VMAs. Beyoncé schooled her VMA colleagues by earning nine nods for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," and Lady Gaga earned a collective nine noms for "Poker Face" and "Paparazzi." Not to be outdone, Britney (no se pueden tener los VMAs sin Britney), earned five noms combined for "Womanizer" and "Circus."
Viva La Vida, y Los Hombres!
Coldplay, Jay-Z, Green Day, Eminem and Kanye West will be vying for VMA titles este año también. With problem children like Eminem and Kanye at the VMAs, the night is sure to be un éxito polémico.
GET YOUR CLICKING FINGER READY!
