The first of what we anticipate will be many arrest videos due to Arizona’s SB 1070 immigration law has surfaced. La mujer Latina fué detenida por dós oficiales, both of whom are named in the video, for apparently for running a stop sign. They pulled her over, asked for her documentation, and called Border Patrol.

The officers referenced a previous traffic citation the woman had received 2008, but claimed it was not outstanding y que había resolvido la situación en corte. Even though the woman had called her lawyer and let Border Patrol know that he was on the way, they declined waiting, put her in the back of the truck, and took her from the scene.

Celebrating Latinos in film, the New York International Latino Film Festival kicked off this week with "The Dry Land." Co-executive producer America Ferrera joined writer / director / fiancé Ryan Piers Williams on the project, and also stars in the lead female role alongside Ryan O’Nan.
It’s the story of a war veteran (O’Nan) who returns home suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Ferrera plays the role of his wife who tries to help him cope with his disorder, while Wilmer Valderrama plays the part of best friend and fellow veteran who joins him on a journey para encontrar la verdad de lo que les ha ocurrido.
Check out this clip para ver que más dicen los actores y el director de la película "The Dry Land":
We caught up with the cast during a recent press junket to talk about "The Dry Land" and why the film is so dear to each of them. Wilmer shared his experience with visiting troops throughout different parts of the world bringing his Yo Momma comedy tour, and expressed relief in finally being able to take on a film project que cuente el aspecto humano de la situación de algunos veteranos de guerra, sin agenda política.
America gushed about the passion and dedication of her fiancé, Williams, saying that “he’s just always been such a passionate filmmaker. He’s the hardest working person in the room, hardest working on the set.”
We can tell this is one project that everyone involved is very proud to be a part of. Aca les tenemos el trailer para "The Dry Land," take a look:
Though the presence of Latino actors is felt throughout, this is not a Latino story, it’s an American story, and it’s based on the realities that many families face today. Living in a time of war, this story is sure to tug on the heartstrings of all Americans. Les recomendamos que vayan a ver esta película, not only to support Latinos in film, but to gain another perspective on what our troops may be facing when they come home to us.
"The Dry Land" opened in select cities throughout the U.S. today (July 30), and you can check their website for when it’ll be coming to a theater near you.

We've been enjoying all the goodies from Camila's "Unplugged" for the past few weeks, have you?
Here's one of our faves: “De Mi” is the final track on their new Dejarte de Amar album and a true showstopper. This one’s all about Pablo Hurtado. The quieter of the three, Pablo doesn’t take the mic quite as much, but wow can he pluck!
Just close your eyes and tune in to his acoustic leads. His abilities to strum a guitar convey passion, romance, and true showmanship (We could only imagine seeing him shred at “Rock Band”).
But of course, Camila ultimately works as a trio and the vocal harmonies seal the deal to make this song an absolute classic.
In case you haven’t noticed, Samo’s usually the one taking the high notes, while Mario (the primary songwriter of the group) blends it up with a perfect lower balance. It’s obvious these guys are absolute pros and have their music (and power ballads) down to a science.
Great lyrics, great melodies, and above all, a great vibe. Way to go Camila!

She made us cry with her heart wrenching Na’vi performance in “Avatar”; she’s taken us on a wild intergalactic adventure with “Star Trek" but has Zoe Saldana ever really cracked us up? True, she was “Death at a Funeral” last year, but that was in a fairly straight-laced “girlfriend” role.
We've wanted to see Zoe get silly, make funny faces, and go for hilarity that is entirely unexpected. Thankfully, this FunnyOrDie.com clip covers all of that:
Titled “Idiots,” the video features Janeane Garofalo, "Sex And The City"'s Jason Lewis, and another genre buster, Kate Bosworth.
What makes this skit work so well is that both Kate and Zoe are known for such serious work. Seeing them get dubbed in baby voices and goof around at a bar is awesome because it’s so out of character. It also goes to show that these too very famous ladies don’t take themselves too seriously. We love that!
So Zoe, if you’re reading this, please sign on for a full-blown film comedy, you’d be FANTASTIC in it!….And yes, another “Avatar” too.

You know all about those World Of Warcraft games, right? Technically they fall under the banner of MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game), which means you get to log on with all your buddies and battle in a massive online universe.
Now what if instead of elves and wizards, you entered a world filled with your favorite DC comic book characters? Batman, Superman, The Joker…even the lesser known “cult” faves like Blue Beetle and General Zod! Well this is all going to be possible thanks to Sony Online and the new “DC Online Universe” game!

This project has been getting hyped for years now. Players got a first taste at this year’s E3, and trailers have been hitting the web since way back in 2008. Well, the end date is now almost here (November 2nd) and as the pieces come together, it looks like this will have been well worth the wait!
First, the cast: Sony announced this week that Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy will be reprising their voices as the Joker and caped crusader respectively (from their classic “Batman Animated Series”). James Marsters from “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” will be doing Lex Luthor and they’ve even got “Firefly” Latina Gina Torres as Wonder Woman!

It’s amazing how much press, radio exposure, and internet love rapper Nicki Minaj is getting considering that she’s yet to released a studio album! Yes, she’s been doing mixed tapes and collaborations for years, but we've been waiting for a full blown LP release.
Thankfully, we won't have to wait too much longer. It's official: start counting down to November 23rd, when Nicki’s still untitled solo debut is set to hit shelves! No word yet on collaborations, but Minaj did let a tidbit slip to EW: “I don’t want to say too much, but I just did some work with will.i.am .. Just something for my album that I’m really excited about,” is all she’ll say.

It’s pretty obvious that her skills are admired by the fans and the peers. And with the visual imagery she’s instilled in her new “Your Love” video, we anticipate even more followers flocking to team Nicki.
The red colors, the sexy Asian themes, it’s even got a few karate chops! And for those observing the undertones, did you notice the duel at the end of the video? Perhaps a nod to the current beef she’s got with Lil' Kim?
We can only speculate, but after Kim’s declaration of “War” on the Cash Money label, it seems like a subtle battle may be brewing. Thankfully Nicki’s keeping it all positive and sharing massive love with her nearly 1 million Twitter fans!
“ Thank u guys very much for the feedback on the Video. #YourLove means the world to me.”
It doesn't hurt that Minaj has some major co-signers in her corner; M.I.A. told L.A. radio station KIIS FM that Nicki “runs hip-hop.” When talking to the Huffington Post, John Legend said, “I feel like this is Nicki’s time right now.”
For more from Nicki Minaj, check her out in this exclusive "2010" video preview.

Christina Aguilera premiered her latest single "You Lost Me" today (July 22) to glowing reviews. This emotionally powerful ballad the second single off her Bionic LP shows the return of the diva to her "Beautiful" days.
Dressed casually in black with painted red lips and new strawberry-blonde hair, the song opens with:
"I am done/ Smoking gun/ We've lost it all/ The love is gone/ She has won/ Now its no fun/ We've lost it all/ The love is gone."
The break-up ballad continues with black mascara streaming down Xtina's face as she cries in the desert. The video closes with the singer finding the "light," clad in white, seemingly past her misery:
"Now I know you're sorry/ And we were sweet/ Oh, but you chose lust when you deceived me/ And you'll regret it, but it's too late/ How can I ever trust you again?
I feel like our world's been infected/ And somehow you left me neglected/ We've found our lives been changed/ Oh babe, you lost me."
Christina shared these details with Entertainment Tonight on the set of her video:
“What I wanted was a very raw and real feeling. Your relationship with this person is sort of being destroyed right before your eyes.. This video will take you from a very dark place ... [but] pretty soon you'll see me build my strength."
Well, she certainly achieved that raw feeling. Hopefully this strong ballad and stellar video will help Aguilera's Bionic album pick up in sales.
The LP came in 3rd on the Billboard 200 when it debuted in June and sold a disappointing 111,000 in its first week out, her lowest selling album. Her summer tour has also been canceled due to poor album sales, though inadequate rehearsal time between the album's release and tour dates is the "official" reason.
Either way, we love this new/old Christina!

Taio Cruz is officially on our summer radar. Back in February, his “Break Your Heart” track literally broke records by becoming one of the largest chart jumps ever for a debut artist (from #53 to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100). With his new song “Dynamite,” he’s got yet another Top 10 single he can brag about.
“Dynamite” is perfect “get-ready” music to amp you up before a hot night out. You can tell Taio had a big budget to back this one up; there’s fireworks, phat motorcycles, tons of beautiful people dancing in the club, and, of course, Taio blinged out in black shades.
The junkyard theme is original and very sexy (what guy doesn’t love seeing half naked hotties working on cars?). There are no actual dynamite explosions, but he does have some cool imagery of a car spark shower from behind the stage (kudos, Mr. video director). We’ve got to give Taio some big props on this one. “Dynamite” lived up to the hype!
