There is a very good chance that 2012 could be The Year of the Royce! Oh yea, Prince Royce's next albums are due in just a few short months and he's already prepping his first Spanish single, "Las Cosas Pequeñas."
Featuring all of the tropical sounds that Prince is famous for, "Las Cosas" has already hit the internet (albeit in a shortened preview form). The real single arrives next week and will be followed by a sentimental music video.
People en Español is reporting that Royce shot the vid in his hometown of New York and is very happy with the results. Portions were filmed at NY's iconic Central Park and, according to reports, screaming fans constantly surrounded the set.
Speaking about his hometown, Prince recently said,
"I was born in the Bronx and will always remember writing songs in Central Park. It's a place that brings back fond memories."
You can hear Royce's inspirations come alive again on January 16, when "Las Cosas Pequeñas" officially makes its radio and iTunes debut.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes sure make a cute couple for the paparazzi photographers. And they clearly make a cute couple onscreen. The two celebrity lovebirds have now filmed their first short movie together, for the comedy website Funny Or Die.
Entitled Drunk History Christmas, the five-and-a-half minute clip features a whiskey-fueled retelling of the classic "Night Before Christmas" poem. In it, Ryan and Eva are seen cuddling happily in bed. Of course, it all gets interrupted when an inebriated Santa Claus slides down the chimney.
Played sheepishly by Jim Carrey, Old St. Nick makes plenty of colorful faces for the camera. There are also hilarious "doggie reindeer" scenes, slurred holiday speeches, and Christmas clichés skewered lovingly by the FOD staff.
Since its posting this week, Drunk History Christmas has already gotten 1.2 million views. Clearly the fans love seeing Gosling and Mendes hamming it up together. And you can see how well their chemistry works on the big screen when their movie The Place Beyond The Pines arrives in 2012.

Lord of the Rings fans rejoice! After what seemed like a never ending telenovela of twists and turns Peter Jackson FINALLY revealed the trailer for The Hobbit. It is everything I expected it to be and more, filled with ominous forests and mystical creatures. The two minute trailer has already been viewed more than one million times and the film itself is expected to surpass the Lord of the Rings trilogy at the box office.
The online teaser comes at a time when many LOTR fans were already losing faith in the project. At the very beginning the film experienced problems with delayed production over legal issues between Jackson and New Line, the studio that produces the LOTR franchise. As if that wasn't enough the original director, Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth), backed out of the project because he became frustrated with the unexpected delay.
Del Toro said last May,
"The mounting pressures of conflicting schedules have overwhelmed the time slot originally intended for the project."
Jackson, who was going to supervise the project as an executive producer, decided to step in and direct the film himself (would we have it any other way?). As far as the cast goes, there are many new faces as well as old ones that have come back to reprise their classic roles.
Martin Freeman from the U.K. version of The Office is starring in the role of Bilbo Baggins. Sir Ian McKellen returns as our favorite wizard Gandalf, while Orlando Bloom and Cate Blanchett return as the elves Legolas and Galadriel. Of course no LOTR film could be complete without Andy Serkis reprising his role as Gollum, the creepy backstabbing creature who loses his "precious" ring.
From the trailer it seems that the film, which is based on JRR Tolkien's 1937 classic The Hobbit, will focus on the tale of the dwarves. The book follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins who suddenly finds himself way in over his head after joining a band of dwarves on a mission to take back their treasure.
The Hobbit is much softer and whimsical compared to its darker sequel the Lord of the Rings. Although Tolkien does include a bit of sinister overtones and sets the stage for what is to come.
The Hobbit was shot in 3D and Jackson plans to release the saga in two parts. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released on December 14, 2012. Part Two, entitled There and Back Again, is expected to be released December 13, 2013. Jen Chaney of the Washington Post wrote,
"That noise you hear? That's the sound of JRR Tolkien nerds and Jackson lovers weeping with joy."
I know I'm one of them!
The question remains, will these films have what it takes to surpass the world-wide phenomenon that was the Lord of the Rings? Shot between 2001 and 2003, the Lord of the Rings generated more than $3 billion at the box office and won a number of Oscars. Many are predicting that The Hobbit will in fact have a similar effect and with millions of LOTR fans waiting, I'm sure it will.
Watch the tailer here.

Too bad New Year's Eve doesn't fall on a "Friday." If it did, it'd give the world one more reason to embrace Rebecca Black. Our favorite one-hit-wonder did scored a pretty interesting stat in 2011. Her "Friday" video ranked as this year's most watched YouTube clip.
With over 180 million views, "Friday" became an overnight sensation and so did its 13-year-old singer. Rebecca (who's part Latina) got to make the rounds on The Tonight Show and even appeared in a Katy Perry video after her clip hit it big. But Black was just one of the many viral sensations who caught on this year.
The second most watched YouTube clip involved (you guessed it) a family pet. No it wasn't a piano-playing feline, but rather the unlucky pooch from "Ultimate Dog Tease." Though it’s just a little over a minute long, "Dog Tease" definitely stirred up laughs (and 74 million views) with its woof woof dialogue.
Saturday Night Live’s Andy Samberg got quite a lot of YouTube attention this year too. Two of his digital SNL skits made the site's annual Top 10. Our personal favorite was "Jack Sparrow" starring Michael Bolton in full Pirates Of The Caribbean garb. Seen by over 60 million fans, it definitely captured the web's attention.
Rounding out the YouTube Top 5 were "Talking Twin Babies" and "Nyan Cat." The first delivered major LOLs with its diaper-clad duo chit chatting in their own goo-goo gaga language. "Nyan" looked like something out of an 80's video game and featured a space bound kitty riding an 8-bit rainbow. Though fun at first glance, be warned! "Nyan's" soundtrack is incessant and may be tough to get out of your head.
Of course, the beauty of YouTube is that most of its videos are created by everyday people. And we're more than certain that these amateur filmmakers earned some serious cash off their millions of views.

Poor RiRi! While performing for thousands of fans in Portugal this past Saturday the Barbados beauty struggled through songs and at one point had to rush off stage mid-set to vomit. The pop star left her fans in a state of confusion when she stopped performing in the middle of her chart-topping single What's My Name and disappeared.
This sudden illness has the Internet abuzz with rumors that the singer is pregnant! I'm thinking she just caught a stomach flu.
Rihanna took to Twitter and said,
"Portugal tonight was legendary!!! I ran off stage to throw up, halfway thru What's My Name... made it back juuuust in time for Rude Boy."
Like the trooper that she is, Rihanna quickly came back on stage and rocked the house leaving fans star struck. The next day RiRi appeared to be feeling much better as her crew celebrated the end of the tour with a Christmas party.
Again the singer gushed on Twitter,
"We just had our end of the year/tour Christmas party!!!! We turned it into an 80's prom, since I've never had one! It was sooo much fun!!!! I'm decked out in lace, sequins, a giant bow, and hair spray!!!!!"
With a new already insanely successful album, Talk That Talk, and the close of her equally successful Loud tour, I doubt Rihanna is going to let a little vomit get in her way. Although the singer has yet to clarify the pregnancy rumors, we can only hope she gets better.
Check out the video of her disappearing mid-song.

You knew it was only a matter of time before the online TV service Hulu started mixing novelas into its rotation. And now, the company is initiating a drastic Hispanic push with the launch of Hulu Latino.
Claiming to offer "the most complete Spanish-language library on the web," Hulu Latino has partnered with a ton of Latin American content providers. Azteca America, Estrella TV, and Maya Entertainment are just a few of the companies who'll be lending their shows to the project.
So far, several top Spanish series have appeared on the Latino lineup. Expect to see Don Francisco Presente, Aqui y Ahora, and the soon-to-be English soap, Soy Tu Dueña. And just like the regular Hulu, the Spanish version will feature highlight clips and episodic breakdowns (for those of us who like to skip around within shows).
All you classic televisión fans are in luck too. Capitalizing the popular "rerun" craze, Hulu Latino will be offering full episodes of shows like Control, Lente Loco, and the original Chespirito!
It's all being done in a push to attract more Hispanic viewers to the site. And judging by the way they've structured it, Hulu Latino will be hard to miss. On the main homepage, the admins have added a big "Latino" tab which takes you to all of your favorite shows.
"We know that a majority of viewers watching Univision and other premium Spanish-language shows move between English and Spanish language programming on a regular basis,” Hulu VP Andy Forssell explained. “Given that, our goal was to delight the Hispanic community by creating a fully-integrated experience within the Hulu environment."
Of course, if you prefer crazy Quinces girls and giant hamsters you know exactly where to go. Tr3s has been dishing out online shows for years and we’ll have plenty of new viral goodies in store come 2012!

This week, Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am debuted his first music video. And judging by the all-star cast he assembled, it's clear he wants to kick off his solo career with a bang. Outside of the high tech effects and stunts, he's nabbed Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger for cameo appearances.
The track, titled "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)," sounds like it easily could have fit in the BEP catalog. Except instead of Fergie belting out the melodic notes, will’s letting Ms. JLo step behind the mic.
The video features will driving motorcycles, racing cars, and even flying giant spaceships. In between it all, we get to see Lopez dancing in a skin tight body suit and Jagger strutting his stuff in the cosmos.
It all makes for some very colorful visuals, which may actually outshine the song. Truth be told, "T.H.E." sounds a little repetitive and uninspired. Will is definitely capable of making great music, but this lead off single makes us yearn for some extra Peas.

Last night the city of Miami lit up as one of Mexico's greatest comedians, Adal Ramones, hit the stage at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium. This was the comedian's very first show in the city and one of his last stops on the Genios Del Humor North American Tour.
The high energy could be felt by all throughout the auditorium as the crowd continually yelled out "Adal!". Yet, it was clear that Adal didn't just come out for the laughs, as he jolted on stage with his trademark smile. He was touring with Genios Del Humor to bring back Hispanic stand-up comedy to the United States and to provide a stage for up and coming comedians, like Ecuadorian comedian Francisco Pinoargotti, whom he shared the stage with.
"Los Hispanos estamos presente en los Estados Unidos!", Ramones roared to the crowd.
Many local personalities and fellow artists came out to see the show, like Alexis Valdes, Ana Maria Canseco and Cuban Comedian Robertico.
Adal's monologue lasted almost two hours and the crowd could not get enough. He talked about everything, from his 10-year-old daughter asking him how babies are made to the not-so-logical ending of Titanic (I always asked myself the same question, why couldn't Rose share the door with Jack?!).
Needless to say, my abs got a good workout because I could not stop laughing even after the show was over. Adal's genius lies in his ability to take everyday experiences and connect with the audience in a way only a comedian of his caliber can.
His passion for making people laugh is evident as he told the crowd,
"Gracias por venir, pero más que todo gracias por sus risas!"
At the end of the show someone yelled out from the crowd "Otro Rollo!" which of course was the hit late night comedy show Adal hosted for more than a decade with some very memorable guests like Britney Spears, Will Smith and Shakira. To this outburst the comedian replied, "Regreso con Rollo el año que viene."
To say I'm excited is an understatement! If you were anything like me then you remember late Saturday nights watching Adal's monologues and sketches with your favorite artists- like my all time favorite sketch with Maná.
Its amazing to see a comedian like Adal Ramones representing Latinos all across the United States and I can only hope he'll come back to Miami soon.
What is your favorite 'Otro Rollo' moment?

Te gusta Paulina Rubio's "Me Gustas Tanto" video? Right now the verdict seems to be a little mixed. Pau Pau's new clip definitely has a big budget behind it, but many are complaining that it lacks the pizzazz of what a kickoff single should represent.
In essence, "Me Gustas Tanto" is meant to stir up interest in Paulina's long awaited 10th album, Brava! Rubio hasn't released a record in nearly three years and if this is supposed to be her comeback, it may leave a bit to be desired.
Mixing in synthesized beats, an auto tune chorus, and robotic flairs, "Tanto" almost sounds like it could have been a leftover track from JLo's Love? sessions. Nevertheless, Pau Pau's record company is putting a lot of money behind it, with promotions throughout the YouTube and VEVO channels.
But despite its shortcomings, there's still a lot to like about the "Tantos" video. Rubio has sexy scenes where she's doused in glitter and using a provocatively placed leaf to cover her private parts! Not bad for a 40-year-old mom.

Could Selena Gomez be getting into the Halloween spirit a little early? The teen pop star recently channeled her inner "chola" for a hilarious new Europe Music Awards promo.
Dressed in over-sized earrings, dark red lipstick, and a grey bandana, Gomez appeared as an alter ego of herself in the spot and even threw out some pretty impressive rap lines. The theme was centered around the song "Congratulations To Me," and featured Selena giving herself a well-deserved pat on the back.
Gomez' spots proved to be so popular, the EMA site posted several different versions of them. The extended promo runs a full two-minutes and features foul-mouthed lyrics, courtesy of Cholena.
Gomez even kept the street vibe with her tweets, posting a link along with the words, "Check it, Yo!!! LOL".
So now we've got to wonder, could the new Selena be making an appearance at the EMA's show? We're thinking it's very possible and who knows? She may even walk up alongside with Lady Gaga's Jo Calderone.
