It looks like the Latin American novela world will soon be getting a taste of brooding teen vampires. Taking a page out of the Twilight playbook, Televisa's Tiin channel has just announced its newest soap, Luna Roja, originally created in Portugal.

To be honest, we're actually surprised the novela world hasn't capitalized on this trend sooner. Twilight has been huge with international audiences, particularly because of its elements of high drama and forbidden love.

Roja promises to include all that and then some. Set at a strict boarding school, it's got a sexy young Latina, a pale bloodsucker in a trench coat, and plenty of angry humans with big wooden stakes in their hands.

Set to begin airing later this month, we expect Luna Roja to hit big with the goth romance crowd. That is, until Breaking Dawn Part 2 arrives in theaters.

Comic lovers and Stephenie Meyer fans have something to celebrate today: the release of Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1!

Twilight: The Graphic Novel contains selected text from Meyer's original novel with illustrations by Korean artist Young Kim. A rare fusion of Asian and Western comic techniques is reflected in this black-and-white graphic novel with color interspersed throughout. Meyer consulted throughout the artistic process and had input on every panel.

"I've enjoyed working on this new interpretation of Twilight," said Meyer. "Young has done an incredible job transforming the words that I have written into beautiful images. The characters and settings are very close to what I was imagining while writing the series."

Because of the original Twilight novel's length, the graphic novel will be published in two volumes. There is no information yet on whether the last three books in the series will be adapted to the format.

Time will tell if fans like the graphic novel medium for 'Twilight'. TwilightLexicon.com, a popular Twilight fan site, recently conducted an online poll. 30% said they would definitely buy the graphic novel, 50% said they wanted to see it before deciding, and 20% said they weren't interested in graphic novels.

Fans devoted solely to the films shouldn't feel left out: 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' will be available on DVD and Blu-ray this Saturday, promptly at the stroke of midnight.

We have a countdown going until the premiere of 'New Moon' on 11.20.09 (faltan solo 24 días!), but until then, we're trying to find ways to keep the excitement going.  Gracias a Dios por MTV!

Not only did MTV recently release some hair-raising new photos from the upcoming película, pero MTV News is also rolling out some exclusive entrevistas with the cast of 'New Moon,' starting con la linda Ashley Greene y el guapísimo Kellan Lutz.

If you thought that the cast of 'New Moon' was too cool for 'Twilight' merchandise, guess again, porque Ashley revealed that she not only owns a few camisetas, pero she's also a champ at the Twilight trivia game!

"I have a couple shirts. I have a couple things from "Twilight" that I want to keep as memorabilia, and so I have a couple shirts. I definitely have the necklace. While filming, Kellan bought the "Twilight" game, and we played. We made Xavier [Samuel] play it, the poor new kid. We were like, "The new kid will play!" and so we had Xavier come over and Peter Facinelli came over. Me and him and those two guys and Kellan played the "Twilight" game. And I won. I'm just saying. No big deal."

Out with the old and in with the nuevo "New Moon" book cover!

The steamy new layout featuring Edward (Robert Pattinson) luring over rival Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and his forbidden love Bella (Kristen Stewart) will have us curling into bed with Stephanie Meyer's second edition all over again. The upgraded book cover is set to hit stores this summer and includes a movie poster that will make sure to remind fans of the vampire sequel's November 20th premiere.

Believe it or not, casting for the third installment of the "Twilight" film series, "Eclipse" is already in order.

Although the film is slated to hit theaters in the summer of 2010, director David Slade has started casting for the Clearwater siblings featured in Stephanie Meyer's popular collection. According to MTV News, David is specifically looking to fill the werewolves roles for Leah, Riley, and Seth Clearwater. Claro, we have a couple of ideas of our own about who should play who...

Leah Clearwater: Destined to become the first female werewolf in the story, Leah is depicted as a flawless supermodel wannabe with short black hair. We can picture Selena Gomez chopping her long tresses and reading the script hands down! No cree?

Riley Clearwater: Described in the novel as a preppy school boy, Riley is a sinister yet gallant looking character. We think Wilmer Valderrama was born for this part, but if he doesn't take it we are sure Jay Hernandez will.

Seth Clearwater: Known as one of the leaders of the bad ass werewolves club, Seth is young and impressionable. William Levy is perfect for this! We aren't sure how it would work, but we had to squeeze him in somewhere.

The Twilight cast headed out to Vancouver to start filming New Moon this week...

But not before making a stop in Beverly Hills. In honor of the Twilight DVD release this past Saturday, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene and Rachelle Lefevre came out to sign autographs and celebrate at the shop Kitson. The cast told MTV News some fun games they've created to help get them through these events, including racing to see who can sign the most autographs. Though keeping count lately hasn't been easy since Robert Pattinson and Rachel Lefevre have (GASP) the same signature??

Rachel reveals:

Me and Robert have the same autograph lately, so we can't tell if we've signed something already because it looks the same.

We bet Twilighters can tell the difference verdad?!

Sorry ladies. Don't expect to peep any rated-R scenes with Edward Cullen...

However, the Twilight saga's leading man, Robert Pattinson, is preparing to strip for his upcoming role in the overdue biopic "Little Ashes" dedicated to the legendary surrealist painter and director, Salvador Dalí. In the latest issue of GQ magazine, Roberto talks about playing the hombre responsible for the bizzare mundo of flying ticking clocks and swirls of ant colonies. Known for keeping his scenes very clean, the actor is switching the script by filming risque sex scenes.

He explains in the article:

I had to do all this naked stuff. I thought I'd never get another acting job again. So I was like, 'Yeah — why not try to do something weird?' There's all these gay-sex scenes. And, you know, I haven't even done a sex scene with a girl in my whole career.

You have already been warned...don't bring your abuelita to catch this flick! We think it sounds like a pretty interesting role. Do you think Robert is the right man for the part? [MTV News]
