One of the best parts of every year's VMAs is the red carpet fashion.  Este año was certainly no exception!  From crazy avant-garde creations to high-fashion drama and a "who wore it better?" snafu, la alfombra roja kept us on our toes este año as we tried to spot our most and least favorite vestidos!

While others left us with plenty to talk about!

One of the MOST talked-about fashion moments from last night's show?  (Other than the bewilderment at the latest Lady Gaga ensembles, por supuesto!)   The matching vestido fiasco between Shakira and Pink!  Las cantantes showed up in matching Balmain black and silver sequined dresses (oops!), but they took the red-carpet mishap in stride and turned it into un chiste, even posing para fotos juntas on the red carpet.  A quien le luce mejor?

Best Non-Basic Black Vestido

Latina Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton VS. Los Premios co-amfitriona, Nelly Furtado

Ambas cantantes opted for un vestido negro, pero los detalles make the dress in both cases.  Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton showcased her best assets in a sexy backless number, while Nelly's more conservative sheath dress brought attention to her neck and shoulders with intricate beading and sequins.

Most Badass Fashion Pareja

The, ahem, outspoken Kanye West and Amber Rose VS. Latin powerhouse couple, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez

Kanye sported jeans, shades and a bottle of liquor to show his bad boy steeze, but nothing makes more of a fashion statement than his model girlfriend, Amber Rose, draped over him in her second-skin snake-print bodysuit.  On the other hand, Marc, also sporting sunglasses at night, accompanied JLo in an... interesting outfit with detached velour sleeves and sky-high leopard print booties.  Both parejas seemed to be trying to prove their edge, pero which one had you convinced?

Best WTF Red Carpet Look

Techni-colored Perez Hilton VS. Metal warrior Jack Black

Perez always knows how to make a fashion statement.  This time around, he meticulously matched his hi-liter yellow Doc Marten boots to his... dishwashing gloves?  As an equally unlikely fashion accessory, Jack Black chose to bring along his giant double-headed axe.  Porque, claro, no sabias that the VMA red carpet is a bloodthirtsy battleground?!

Classiest Hombre

Cuban rapper Pitbull VS. Senegalese R&B mogul Akon

Pitbull looked like a suave casanova in his 3-piece suit and purple tie, while Akon opted for a more modern traje and skinny black tie.  Both hip-hop stars really rocked their suits for the red carpet, pero cual lució más guapo?

Last night's Teen Choice Awards were full of fun and surprises from Britney Spears accepting the Ultimate Choice Award from Miley Cyrus, to hosts the Jonas Brothers acting out several crazy dares (getting "tattooed" by Kat Von D AND getting a haircut from Mike Tyson onstage?!)  And of course there were things that were not quite as surprising, como Twilight cleaning up with ELEVEN awards.

Pero, como siempre, our eyes were glued to the red carpet and the equally fun and surprising get-ups las estrellas rocked at the show.  Let's see the nominees!

Real-life blood-related trio the Jonas Brothers vs. the blood-sucking Cullen Clan from Twilight

We're digging the relaxed steeze of RPatz, Jackson Rathbone and Kellan Lutz (aka Edward, Jasper and Emmett Cullen), pero los JoBros always look fresh off some kind of Teen GQ shoot.

Best Violeta Vixen

Sin City siren Alexis Bledel vs. super-cute brujita Selena Gomez vs. High School Musical sweetheart Vanessa Hudgens

All three estrellas rocked a violet hue vestido on the red carpet, pero cual de estas chicas pulled it off the best?  We love Alexis' demure lace dress and Vanessa's flirty frock, but are truly bewitched by Selena's updated single-sleeve Grecian wrap look!

Best "Heavy Metal" Ensemble

Black-Eyed Peas' Fergie vs. Twilight starlet Kristen Stewart vs. teen pop sensation Miley Cyrus

Parece que todo lo metálico is back in style!  Fergie kind of reminds us of a grown-up Judy Jetson, and Kristen Stewart's falda looks like it's made out of tiny metal syringes (or bullets?) -- a little scary, no crees?  Miley's got the "heavy metal" estilo down!

Best Va-Va-Voom Vestido

Reality superstar Kim Kardashian vs. The Hills babe Audrina Patridge vs. the mega-foxy Megan Fox

Megan Fox is still holding out para las chicas de pelo oscuro, as newly-blondes Kim Kardashian and Audrina Patridge hit la alfombra roja shortly after getting sun-kissed makeovers.  Pero cual de estas curvy chicas knew how to flaunt their bods best?  You decide!

Miley Cyrus was definitely radiating a 'don't cry for me' attitude while accepting her award for "Best Song" for the "Hannah Montana: the Movie" single "The Climb." The pop-rock queen abandoned her laid back look for a light blush colored grown woman dress. Yep, she looks like she is sixteen going on thirty five! Miley may have opted for a nude look, but las chicas were feeling super bright estilos at last night's 2009 MTV Movie Awards. Let's just say we liked some more than others...

We all know who dominated the camera attention at last night's "People en Español" golden carpet...

William Levy melted corazones during the 13th annual "Los 50 Más Bello" a-list event at the Edison Ballroom in New York. The “Cuidado con el ángel” star shined in a midnight satin blazer, but he wasn't the only one modeling bold colores. His on-screen lover, Maite was also seen flashing an embellished violet gown, while his wife Elizabeth Gutierrez kept it classy in a simple black dress. Honestly, this is the tightest belleza battle without any peroxide heads. Did you also notice that all of las damas are brunette?!

The battle of las divas is on...

Adrienne Bailon and Kat Deluna are known for being true fashionistas from the heart, but you will determine who wins this fashion face-off! Las damas and estrellas including, Ciara, Jaslene Gonzalez, and Kim Kardashian, were seen strutting the black carpet at the Hennesy Black event in New York City on Tuesday. Let's leave a couple of tips for the winner and loser in this belleza battle...

Kat - The "Dance Bailalo" singer kept it very Audrey Hepburn with a classy black knee-length dress, but gets minus points for skinning her poor kitty cat for the sake of high-fashion. "Breakfast at Tiffany's" we think not! We are sure PETA backs us on this one.

Adrienne - Simply flawless! The revealing mini-dress makes the fellas question whether she is single or still running with Rob Kardashian. We love the look, but not the extra Victoria Secret padding.
