The good news – Kate Del Castillo just participated in a sexy new PETA ad. The bad news – it's not THAT kind of PETA ad. Sorry La Reina del Sur fans, your favorite novela queen did not bare all for the animal rights organization, but she did pass along a powerful message.
Kate's PETA poster actually comes off a bit gothic. Set against a cloudy backdrop, it shows the 39-year-old actress in an elegant black dress with a Doberman Pinscher puppy in her arms.
The ad is actually printed in English and tells animal lovers to take good care of their dogs and cats. Using the headline "Fiercely Protect Your Animals," it urges owners to not neglect the pets they adopt.
Del Castillo, as usual, looks stunning and is flashing a very sexy pose. And though it delivers the same message as what Cesar Millan is preaching, Kate's ad is certain to turn more heads.

So what's Eva Longoria up to now that Desperate Housewives has wrapped? Hanging out with her adorable kitty and helping sell cans of Sheba! Yup, the Wisteria Lane alum has just released a brand new cat food commercial.
Entitled "Follow Your Passion," the 30-second spot definitely shows off Eva's fun side. You'll be able to see her let loose, dance through her house and (of course) spend some quality time with a furry feline friend.
"The commercial has a great storyline," she said in a behind-the-scenes featurette. "It's about a woman who comes home and she's tired, but then starts to unwind. And all the while, the cat is watching her every move."
Interestingly, it seems like a lot of well-known Latinas are trying their hand at commercials. Salma Hayek famously lent her name to Burger King and JLo got behind the wheel of Fiat. And we imagine they're all making a pretty penny doing it!

Country singer Loretta Lynn announced that the lovely singer/actress Zooey Deschanel will be portraying Lynn in the Broadway play Coal Miner's Daughter.
Deschanel would interpret Lynn's dramatic rise to stardom all the way back from her beginnings in backwoods Kentucky. Sissy Spacek played the same role in the 1980 film, and it earned her an Oscar. Maybe Zooey will nail it and get an Academy Award as well.
Lynn announced Deschanel's role in the Broadway play while the two met onstage to sing Loretta's signature song, 'Coal Miner's Daughter.' Lynn made the announcement in Nashville's Ryman Auditorium in front of a large crowd. There is still no official word on how the two connected and decided to go forward with the Coal Miner's Daughter role.
Zooey also broke the good news by posting an Instagram photo of herself and Loretta, with the caption,
"Loretta Lynn asked me to do "coal miner's daughter" on Broadway! I said YES!"
Congratulations, Zooey! That must be exciting. Deschanel currently stars in the hit FOX sitcom, New Girl, which has had amazing success in its first season.
Are you excited to see Zooey Deschanel star in a Broadway play?

Real Beverly Hills housewife Brandi Clanville has two sons with LeAnn Rimes' hunky actor husband, Eddie Cibrian. Brandi, the pseudo-celebrity, recently confessed to once wanting to kill the country singer after catching LeAnn at one of her son's soccer practices holding her baby boy on her lap.
The crazed momma bear said,
"I remember walking up to soccer practice and there she was with my baby in her lap. My blood was boiling, and I thought I was going to kill her. I really thought I was going to physically hurt her."
Whoa there, Brandi. Meow! Just think of what's better for your boys, Mason and Jake. You going crazy psycho on LeAnne, or being happy for the boys that their new step mom treats them well and is good to them?
Brandi continued her jealous rant and said,
"But that was the first time I saw her that way-- she was sitting in my soccer chair, under my tent, she's got my kid on her lap and she's with my husband, and that was that little moment of total irrational fury."
I wonder why it didn't work out with her and Eddie. Brandi, the 39 year old mother of both boys, then had a moment of clarity. She explained,
"We're never going to be best friends, but she's good to my kids, they love her and that's all I could ask for. If they didn't like her, I'd be in court right now, fighting. It's not about me-- it's about them."
No, I think it's still about you Brandi, somewhere deep down inside. Especially in your catty comments about you being glad they didn't sign a prenup, as if you're counting the days until this evil marriage ends. The catty housewife said,
"Thank God [they don't have a pre-nup]! My kids' futures will be taken care of if that's true."
The pseudo-celebrity is still regretting her and Eddie had no prenup, saying, "I got f***ed, and not in a good way."
Wow. Stay classy, Brandi. Good luck in your next relationship, or should I say, good luck to your next partner. He'll probably need it, seeing how the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills reality show star is still pretty vindictive and bitter about the whole thing, from what I can tell.
Have you ever wanted to kill your ex's significant other?

It looks like Elsa Pataky had an extra special reason to enjoy Mother's Day yesterday. The Spanish star became a mommy herself on Friday, giving birth to a baby girl named India.
In case you were unaware, India's daddy is none other than The Mighty Thor. Avengers star Chris Hemsworth married Elsa back in 2010 and it seems they wasted no time starting a family.
According to Us Weekly , India was born in London and is doing "just fine." An anonymous source told the magazine,
"Elsa's so proud of Chris and he's proud of her. They are an adorable family already!"
Let's just hope Pataky can recover quickly enough to film her role in the upcoming Fast Six!

I sat down with the sexy Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro to discuss what it was like preparing for his latest film, What To Expect When You're Expecting. The film follows the stories of five interconnected couples who experience the joys and pains of becoming new parents.
Santoro plays an artist/ musician called Alex in the film. Alex is married to Holly (played by Jennifer Lopez), a photographer who wants to adopt a child, but Alex feels he is not ready yet to be a father. Rodrigo explained his character was "really not sure, he's really scared about it." Alex joins a 'dudes' support group for new dads, and hilarity ensues.
In order to prepare for the role, Santoro had to talk to a couple that actually adopted a baby so that he would get a better understanding of his character. The actor explained his basic preparation, saying,
"I really wanted to understand how it would feel to adopt a child. What it's like, what's the process, and how does it feel for real."
Santoro is not used to playing a comedic character. The actor shared some of the challenges he encountered while starring in a romantic comedy, something he had not done before. When asked if there were any challenges he encountered by coming from a non-comedic background, Rodrigo explained,
"Oh yeah! Big challenges, especially for me. I don't have a comedic background. Quite the opposite, really."
While Santoro's acting background is more dramatic than comedic, his co-stars were an amazing resource in helping him acclimate to the role. He said,
"I got lots of help from those guys, like from Jennifer, and from the guys. I wasn't expecting to improvise that much, but I'm working with Chris Rock, Tom Lennon, and Rob Heubel. These guys, that's what they do. They're stand-up comedians, so they improvise all the time. That was a huge challenge for me."
While Rodrigo's role in this movie didn't have the physical challenges of other roles he has played in the past, it presented some different challenges altogether.
"There are different challenges. In 300, all the challenges are physical challenges, like 5, 6 hours makeup every day. You work against a blue screen, there's nothing there. It's really really difficult to do. It's just different process. They're both challenging, and I like a challenge. That's what actually moves you. It makes you improve and get better and mature."
When asked what he found more difficult, an emotional or a physical role, Rodrigo explained,
"I think emotional might be a little harder for me. I'm physical in nature."
While his role in What To Expect didn't change his views of parenting, it did change his views on adoption, especially his perception of it. He said,
"I think I can understand better, more deeply, about it. I think it's a great way to talk about something that is so fundamental, which is to give birth, which is something everyone can relate to somehow, but with a sense of humor. A little comedy. I think it's a great way of talking about it."
As far as Rodrigo's similarities to his on-screen persona, he says there are little, except for the fact that Alex is an artist. Santoro said,
"Music, that's where we meet. I'm not a musician, a professional musician, but I love music, I love to play an instrument, and that kind of thing. I think I'm an artist as well. That's about it."
I asked Santoro what career path he would be on if he wasn't doing the acting thing. He replied,
"I don't know, I think I'd still be an artist, somehow, maybe something with music. Or maybe I can work in Discovery Channel and travel the world and be with the monkeys. I'm very into nature and I think I would enjoy that."
For the time being, Rodrigo wants to continue doing great movies with inspiring people, and I have no doubt he will continue to do so.
What kind of role would you like to see Rodrigo Santoro portray next?

Kevin Spacey is taking his talent search to a global level, and looking for new film making talent in Asia, Europe, and Africa. The actor/director premiered a new South African short film he starred in and helped produce as part of a world-wide talent search he is embarking upon.
Spacey, sponsored by a whiskey company, ran a contest to select one script from each country: the United States, Russia, and South Africa. The South African winner was a 26 year old writer/director from Cape Town. The script was Allan Shelley's A Spirit Of A Denture, which Spacey premiered in Johannesburg. The film is about a workaholic dentist who gets visited by a pirate.
Kevin also starred in a Chinese film, Inseparable, directed by Chinese-American Dayyan Eng. Eng's film features Spacey playing an American expatriate who becomes friends with a Chinese man, played by Chinese-American Daniel Wu. Inseparable was filmed in China, and is centered around a Chinese man (Wu) who is over-worked and going through marital problems.
Spacey feels there is a lot of potential for wonderful filmmaking opportunities all over the world.
"There is no doubt that as you start to look around the world, you start to look at the Asia-Pacific region, you start to look at what's happening here, you look at what's happening in European cinema, there's a lot going on. I like the idea of going to as many places as possible and (having) as many experiences as you can", he said.
With such a seasoned actor as Spacey conducting a filmmaking talent search, there is no doubt we will see some great gems in the future of independent films. The opportunity is there, we just have to tap into it and give those a chance who would not have the normal exposure of those living in Hollywood or those who have other advantages like a large production budget or famous connections. Kudos to Spacey for bringing this opportunity to the lesser-explored corners of the filmmaking world.
Where do you think Kevin Spacey should go scout for new talent?

The ABC hit series Desperate Housewives has finally come to an end, and not without an appropriate dose of drama to close the show.
The two-hour series finale gave fans lots of exciting moments, including an arrest, a death, a wedding and a birth. It even featured a cameo from the series' creator, Marc Cherry, as a mover.
The finale's first hour focused on Bree's murder trial, which showed Marcia Cross' character being led away to the death chamber in the proverbial orange prison jumpsuit. I cried. Not. Many were glad to see the evil witch get her day in court, so to speak, and were pleased with the verdict.
The second hour of the finale featured a wedding, a birth, and a death, which wasn't at all surprising for those who have been following the show. Some might even call it a tad anti-climactic, but necessary to wrap up the drawn out storyline we've had to suffer through all season.
The Desperate Housewives finale was full of over-the-top theatrics, like Bree making out with her lawyer, played by Scott Bacula, causing her to confess the truth about the murder in a moment of passion. It also featured snippy little comments, like Gaby, Eva Longoria's character, saying, "It's my turn to take care of Mrs. McCluskey, so of course I've been drinking." I guess you had to be there.
The series finale was not without some inside jokes, like Carlos, played by Ricardo Chavira, hiring a new female gardener. This goes back to reference the first season, when Gaby took advantage of a sexy lawn boy to have a fling with while Carlos was in jail. Guess it's Carlos' turn to fool around now.
Will you miss the women from Wisteria Lane?

Were you able to get some QT in with your madre yesterday? It certainly seemed like all of Hollywood did. Sunday's Mother's Day celebration was felt throughout the web thanks to an endless amount of celebrity tweets!
Perhaps the biggest Mommy's Day shout out came from Sofia Vergara's son Manolo. Well into his new YouTube venture, the 20-year-old filmmaker created a special video dedicated to his famous mamita.
"Happy Mother's Day Mom, I love you," Manolo happily said to the camera after posting an assortment of wacky home videos.
Rihanna proved herself to be quite a devoted daughter yesterday. Just Jared posted pix of her bringing a colorful bouquet of flowers to her madre before an afternoon brunch. Taking her love to the Twitterverse, she wrote,
"Mama….thank you! #Mama….I'm proud of you. #Mama…..I'm here for you when EVA. #Mama….u my ride or die b**** for life!!! And yes I know a b**** slap is on the way for my language! But u get it!!!!! I love you."
The reality world's most famous mom, Kris Jenner, wasn't shy about the holiday either. Going beyond the 140-character limits of Twitter, she wrote her own personal blog on how she perceives motherhood.
"My daughters and I have an amazing relationship and I feel like the luckiest mom in the world to spend such quality time with all my kids and my grandson!," she wrote. "We are truly blessed!!! Happy Mothers Day!!!"
Justin Bieber proved himself to be a number one son over the weekend, dedicating his latest single to his mom. His newest track, "Turn To You," was released in honor of his mother Pattie, who raised "The Biebs" on her own after getting pregnant at 18.
"Think im gonna release 'Turn To You' for my mom this friday for mother's day weekend," he told the press last week. "The proceeds will go to help other single moms. thanks."
And, just like every year, all of the new Hollywood mommies made their presence known too. Jessica Simpson, who just gave birth to daughter Maxwell, tweeted good tidings to her fellow madres.
"Happy Mother's Day Mom and Ashlee! Y'all are my inspiration! So blessed to be in your company," she wrote.
Former Wonder Years star Danica McKellar tweeted happily about her new role as well.
"Happy Mother's Day!!!" she posted. "Oh, how I have a new appreciation for my mother @mahailamckellar now that I'm a mommy, too! :):),"
And TLC hostess Rosie Pope probably had the most interest Mother’s Day Tweet of all.
"My WATER JUST BROKE!," she wrote in the morning, followed by news of a safe delivery later in the afternoon.
Feliz Día de las Madres to all of the wonderful mamas in the world!
How did you spend Mother's Day? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.

The King Of All Media took Matt Lauer by surprise after a Today Show interview. Howard Stern hugged and kissed Lauer on national television, after climbing onto his lap.
Stern and Lauer were discussing Howard's new role on America's Got Talent, particularly how people will have preconceived notions on how he is going to act on the show. Howard thinks some amount of criticism is necessary in judging contestants. He said,
"I watch American Idol sometimes, and those three judges, they don't have a word of criticism. And I think that's selfish; I think you owe it to the contestants to offer criticism."
The shock jock believes he is often misunderstood as mean-spirited or evil. Howard attributes his bad rap to the critics who expect him to unleash his verbal rants on unsuspecting contestants and ruining the show.
Howard disagreed, saying,
"What am I, Frankenstein? I'm a compassionate person. I'm a father, I've raised three daughters, and there is compassion, but there is also honesty. I'm an honest judge, and that's what I think America needs. No more of this kind of 'Oh everyone's wonderful' --everyone can't be wonderful! It's a talent competition, and what I'm going to offer the contestants is a way to win the competition."
Howard ended the interview by approaching Matt and showering him with love, much to Lauer's surprise. With a goodby like that, who doesn't believe Howard Stern is just a big old softie at heart?
Do you think Howard Stern will make a good judge, or will he be too mean?
